Did you have sickness nausea with pregnancy?

Been discussing symptoms with a friend as neither of us have many yet - i am six weeks she is eight - particularly sickness and nausea.

Her midwife said 25% of women don't get any at all so i'm curious, which of you had sickness, nausea, both or none? and if you had it when did it start?

Had none with first, felt constantly nauseous (but was never actually sick) with second. It started a few weeks in and was what made me realise I was pregnant. Think it stopped sometime after 13/14 weeks though.

Expectingbsbunumber2 · 30/07/2017 18:55

I had terrible nausea all the way to around 11/12 weeks. I wasn't sick thankfully but nausea is awful x

Watto1 · 30/07/2017 18:56

Felt constantly car sick with dd but was never actually sick. No nausea with ds, but did throw up twice. Not certain that was anything to do with the pregnancy though as we had eaten a takeaway the night before and dh also felt queasy.

PacificDogwod · 30/07/2017 18:57

No, never.
4 DC, 8 pregnancies all in.

With my last pregnancy, resulting in DS4, I totally went off pork, the smell of it made me want to run away Hmm. Other than that I had no nausea, was never sick and also had not strange cravings.

CL1982 · 30/07/2017 19:00

I haven't had it too bad. I honestly thought I would be throwing up every day but no...just nausea and it was actually at its worst at 6 weeks when I was on holiday. It's never been that bad since then but I have been careful how I ate and kept my fluids up....

I blame Hollywood-all pregnant women 'noisily throw up' according to them! I think it makes us feel like we should be doing the same whereas most women just feel god awful but aren't sick or aren't sick at all. Much less interesting/visually expalinatory than vomiting into a bin 😂

hickorydickorynurseryrhyme · 30/07/2017 19:00

With first nausea but no vomiting. With second terrible sickness with vomiting every day. Second was a girl. First was a boy.

whyhastherumgone · 30/07/2017 19:00

The only thing I've had really is I've gone off eggs. And most things I used to like eating. They don't make me feel sick, I just really don't want them.

Had both. Started at exactly 4 weeks the first time, couple of days before that the second time. Lasted the whole way through Angry

whyhastherumgone · 30/07/2017 19:06

Oh @53rdWay the whole way through?? And 4 weeks is so early too - poor, poor you!

Sickness was one of the reasons I stopped at 2 children :-(
during both pregnancies I had morning and evening sickness almost every day, also low blood pressure with both. With first DD, I passed out and broke my arm at 18 weeks, broke my ankle around 22 weeks with second DD.
But both DD are worth every last yucky moment 😉🙄😂

bittyboo · 30/07/2017 19:13

Both, sickness first thing in the morning and nausea every evening. The nausea was far worse. Didn't start till 7ish weeks and gone by 11. Still can't brush my teeth without heaving though.

whyhastherumgone · 30/07/2017 19:15

I'm wondering whether I've missed it, or whether it will creep up on me. Had a MMC before with not many symptoms so I'm wondering if that's just what pregnancy is like for me or whether I will get more if this one is successful. Not that I'm wishing sickness on myself - sounds like some of you had a really tough time!

I felt nauseous from about 8 weeks, lasted for a few hours a day for maybe a month, poss not even that long. Was never sick and other than some breathlessness for a while I had it very easy.

DramaAlpaca · 30/07/2017 19:39

I had both with all three pregnancies. Started at 9 weeks with the first, 12 weeks with the second & the instant I conceived with the third - or about 5 weeks anyway. In all cases I was 20 weeks before it stopped.

whyhastherumgone · 30/07/2017 19:53

Quite a long time then for you @DramaAlpaca! :-/

So far I've only had a bit of random retching - seemingly not brought on by anything and very sporadic [and v attractive when it happens while I'm out walking into town or something]

I had very mild nausea a week after ovulation with both pregnancies. By 6 weeks it was severe all day nausea and vomiting with both but it stopped completely at 16 weeks with my first (boy). With this pregnancy (girl) the vomiting stopped at 16 weeks but the nausea was horrendous up until 20 and I still get the odd day. Nothing helped and I tried everything anyone suggested - I really hope you manage to avoid it op. It was a struggle to get through every single day.

junebirthdaygirl · 30/07/2017 20:07

Sick sick sick on 3 pregnancies. Stopped getting sick about 20 weeks but nausea continued until the end. A nigtmare. But felt so well when came home with the babies!

Winenight · 30/07/2017 20:15

I'm now 17 weeks and wasn't sick at all during the first trimester. Felt slightly nauseous occasionally and couldn't eat for an hour or so then it just cleared. I think I was very lucky! Although after a very long and bumpy road of getting pregnant in the first place maybe my body thought I deserved a break! But I did get awfully tired - which seems to be the pregnancy symptom which everyone I spoke to agreed on.

I've had nothing in the second trimester either. At last scan 3 weeks ago baby was active and measuring fine, so it seems some ladies just don't get the sickness and have healthy pregnancies. x

hugoagogo · 30/07/2017 20:21

Sickness and nausea with both, but worse with my first: actual puking in the street with him.
It lasted until about 26 weeks, when the spd kicked in.
2 dc is plenty for me.
I hope you are one of the lucky ones.

whyhastherumgone · 30/07/2017 21:26

Puking in the street!! Poor you :( Thank you, me too! I have a friend who has gone through two pregnancies with barely any symptoms apart from a bump - hoping i'm similar!

I have had three pregnancies get to at least 14 weeks (two were full term) and am currently pregnant. I've never have morning sickness - I have to say I wish I did every time I am pregnant because after two miscarriges, it always feels like it would be a reassuring feeling even though it isn't the case at all.

Cat2991 · 30/07/2017 21:32

I have had both and it started before I new I we pregnant! I thought it was anxiety getting worse but nope! And 12 weeks now and the nausea is only just ending! Not puked in about 2 weeks which is a god send!!!

yikesanotherbooboo · 30/07/2017 21:53

None at all; 3 pregnancies

Bobbiepin · 30/07/2017 21:59

Sickness from about 6 weeks until about 17. Was vomitting multiple times a day, every day. Worst was about 8 times in a day. It was all day too, not just in the morning. There was a couple of days when I couldn't keep fluids down, or go in my kitchen because smelling the bin would make me sick. Absolutely nothing helped until the last couple of weeks when anti nausea wristbands helped it ease off a little. I'm 27 weeks now and I still get the odd bit here and there but its much better.

AccrualIntentions · 30/07/2017 22:01

Very mild nausea, generally when I was hungry or had gone a bit too long without food. Nothing a cracker or two couldn't sort out.
