I'm 39+2 and eagerly awaiting the arrival of DC2.

Who else is analyzing ever little twinge and cramp??

DD was born 39+5. I was checked over yesterday due to a very tender, sore bump (everything fine) and baby wasn't yet engaged.

Are you all prepared??

How far on are you now wizard? Have they spoken to you about being induced? X

WizardLizard · 12/06/2017 17:31

41 weeks today... looking at induction for the end of the week. Not quite the home birth I was hoping for!

OhDearToby · 12/06/2017 17:59

I'm ready now. 39+2 with dc3. I'm dreading birth but looking after the 17 month old plus walking 5 miles a day for the school run is starting to make me feel it's better out than in!

Dd2 was born after a sweep. It was done at 11am and she was here at 9pm. So there is hope!

stillsunday · 12/06/2017 19:45

I had a sweep today at 39+5 but a student did it and didn't really give it enough force I don't think. I'm 2cm but apparently everyone who has a DC1 already will be about 2cm - another thing that doesn't go back to normal Grin

SleepForTheWeek · 12/06/2017 21:44

Oh really still?? So if I get checked tomorrow and I'm told I'm 2cm I shouldn't get too excited Shock

OP posts:
stillsunday · 12/06/2017 21:56

Apparently so but who knows if that's right. I still got a little excited (prematurely, 10 hours post sweep and no activity)

OhDearToby · 12/06/2017 22:01

With dc2 I was only 1cm when I had my sweep and that was at 40+4, so I'd say 2cm is pretty good! I did have a big gap between dd1 and dd2 though so maybe things had had time to recover. God knows what state everything is in now!

RosePrincess87 · 12/06/2017 23:22

Still I got told a similar thing the other day. Apparently once you've had a baby your cervix never fully closes. Sorry if I've just burst anyone's bubble.

SleepForTheWeek · 12/06/2017 23:34

Does baby's activity slow down once labour is imminent? This child is having a rave tonight!! Can't remember with DD 🤔

OP posts:
OhDearToby · 13/06/2017 03:56

sleep no it doesn't as far as I remember.

I'm so uncomfortable tonight. Had the full on shivers earlier followed by needing to poo about 5 times (tmi sorry!) some very strong braxton hicks too and my back is killing me. Everything seems to have stopped now though.

SleepForTheWeek · 13/06/2017 08:03

So I had a dream last night that I was examined today and was 10cm.....not sure likely that will be haha

OP posts:
OhDearToby · 13/06/2017 09:32

Might be pushing it a bit sleep

I just got back from the school run and the other pregnant lady who was due after me has had her baby. Lovely news obviously but also EnvyEnvy

SleepForTheWeek · 13/06/2017 12:23

Well that was disappointing. Wouldn't sweep me as head still really mobile and lying right round to my side 😩. Doesn't look imminent

Sorry to hear Sleep! How long over will they let you go?

SleepForTheWeek · 13/06/2017 13:28

14 days!!

The complication is if I'm having to be induced I'll need to travel to the nearest city which is 3 hours away 😩

It'll hopefully not come to that. Back on Friday so will see what they say then.

How are you keeping must?

OP posts:
Mustbeinsane1984 · 13/06/2017 14:00

2 weeks seems like a lifetime away! 😐 hugs for you! 3 hours...do you live somewhere pretty remote? Do you have any other children?

I'm keeping not too bad, sleeping a lot of the days away. Really thought I would go early. Baby is very low and super wriggly! I have another growth scan on Thursday so will see how it goes. It's 36 degrees today and I'm wiped out with it. Need to get my son from school but I don't know if I can face the hot car.

SleepForTheWeek · 13/06/2017 14:17

36 degrees?? Where on this tropical Earth are you?? I'm in the West of Scotland and yes, it's very remote where I am. It's about 14 degrees and raining lol.

I have a DD who is 2.7, she's great but getting very clingy and sensitive which is exhausting - i think it's because she can sense the change. She's at nursery this afternoon so I was going to weed the garden to get myself on all fours while being productive but the rain has scuppered my plans so going to sit and watch telly while bouncing on the birthing ball!

What is/was your due date?

OP posts:
Sundaygal · 13/06/2017 14:39

Hi all, 39 + 2 here and definitely ready! I've got an induction booked for the 25th, but really hoping I go before that. I've had niggles for the last 2 months it feels like! But nothing to get excited about so far.

How far along are you now sleep? I'm must say I'm impressed with all your activities. I'm just surviving at the moment!

SleepForTheWeek · 13/06/2017 15:02

I'm 40+2 now - I've been lucky in that i've had a great pregnancy and still feel fit and healthy - so still able to do most things without too much hassle.

Only a week between us - I wonder who will pop first?!

OP posts:
OhDearToby · 13/06/2017 16:11

sleep I'm in West Scotland too. But in the biggest city and only 5 minutes from the hospital!

36 degrees Shock I nearly bloody died when we had 26 degrees a few weeks ago!

NurseP · 13/06/2017 16:41

Well I definitely have not got another 4 or 5 weeks left. I am being induced on Monday!!!! Had a sweep today and another on Friday. Apparently cervix Is soft and very far forward but still thick. Roughly 2 cm dilated. Although this is baby 2 so that may not be something to get too excited about ( thanks girls further up the thread!!) eeek!

Mustbeinsane1984 · 13/06/2017 17:15

I'm in northern Italy, shouldn't complain really poor hubby has to work in it I just have to hide 😜 I am from originally west Scotland. Bless you sleep! It's difficult, my son was pretty clingy to begin with but he has settled down a bit now. I'm not due until 25th!

Good luck nurse, exciting!

SleepForTheWeek · 13/06/2017 17:45

Oh wow this thread is full of Westcoasters!!

Mustbe how old is your son? Are you enjoying living in Northern Italy?

Nurse wow Monday isn't far at all - good luck!

WizardLizard · 13/06/2017 18:05

So ladies, I'll see you on the other side! Waters went yesterday, nothing's happened today so getting ready for induction now.

Not what I'd wanted, feeling pretty nervous tbh because of past experience, but excited to meet my baby in the next day or so!

I'll keep you posted...

Mustbeinsane1984 · 13/06/2017 18:13

Good luck wizard! Hope to hear you are getting baby snuggles soon.

Yes there seems to be a few!

Sleep my little one is 4 going on 14.

Love it here but really different from Scotland. Still get the freezing cold winters but summers are extremely warm. Didn't plan this pregnancy very well! Hmm
