I'm 39+2 and eagerly awaiting the arrival of DC2.

Who else is analyzing ever little twinge and cramp??

DD was born 39+5. I was checked over yesterday due to a very tender, sore bump (everything fine) and baby wasn't yet engaged.

Are you all prepared??

Congratulations Captain! Lovely news. Hope yous are doing well

Still here and no sign of baby arriving :( Baby was very active last night and felt I spent more time in the toilet as I was afraid either I would wee myself or waters would break. Totally whacked today.

I have an appointment at the hospital today to check baby's heart, scan and exam so will see what comes of it! I am 40+2 and have no idea how some of you amazing ladies can hang on until 40+12 etc.

Petrified of induction but if they offer me it today then I might just be swayed 😢

How are you doing Donostia? Any news?

Donostia · 27/06/2017 06:22

Nothing must sorry to be in the same boat Sad Hope it's at least nice to see baby today.

Suffering with insomnia, SPD and general down-ness. My eyes are wrecked from crying and not sleeping! I have an appointment at the gynaecologist tomorrow where they will laugh and tell me to be patient and I may punch someone!!

I would take induction in a heartbeat, I'm so convinced that this won't be happening naturally regardless that i'd rather be induced now than have to hang on to
43 weeks.

Baby was already measuring 9lbs last week Shock

Mustbeinsane1984 · 27/06/2017 06:49

Oh hell hugs for you Donostia, the insomnia is terrible. I find I feel I keep myself awake until 12ish and take some melatonin then I can get a cheeky few hours but it's just so warm ☹️

If I were you I would be praying for a CS lol Apparently my baby is on the smaller side so a little extra time inside won't do no harm...

Will keep you posted how it goes today, best case scenario the book me for an induction before Friday or I go naturally before that.

My gynecologist did say if I am struggling to give him a bell, so tempted if there is no progress today.

Sending lots of strength to you Donostia

Mustbeinsane1984 · 27/06/2017 16:55

Had a 'Sweep' today!

All went well at hospital although they were a little worried at first that there was a lack of amniotic fluid, but all good in the end.

Baby slept for a good 20+ mins on the heart monitor so was there for ages as they wanted a reading when baby moving.

Was initially told no longer than 41 weeks but now gynecologist saying he will let me go to 42!!!! WTF I can not last that long, he offered a sweep so I had to go with it! Wasn't my own doctor so will se how I go. More bouncing on the ball and more long walks....so tired 😜

Any news today ladies, hope all of you with your babies are taking it easy and enjoying newborn cuddles

LadyNymeriaGhost · 27/06/2017 18:03

I was on the monitor for 4 hours, Must! MW said it was the longest trace she'd ever done. I had to keep asking to get up to use the loo! Grin
I hope the sweep gets things going for you.

Mustbeinsane1984 · 27/06/2017 18:48

Thanks lady, had a few cramps but I'm pretty sure I will still be pregnant tomorrow 😭

4 hours on the trace?? lol That's pretty long! I was pretty much squirming for a wee by the time we had done. Was lovely to hear baby's heart beat though!

Getting rather fed up of people trying to tell me how to get my baby out! 'Go for a walk, take a hot bath, climb the stairs!' Yeah I would be doing it all effing day if it wasn't 35 degrees and my blood pressure didn't rocket!!! Do these people really know how much of a pain in the arse they are!!! Sorry for the rant 😜

SleepForTheWeek · 27/06/2017 22:18

Oh ladies I really hope it happens sooner rather than later for you! The end is nigh, however, although it may not feel like it!

How are you feeling after your sweep musthave? It was definitely the sweep I had that got labour going.

It's nowhere near half as daunting this time round with a newborn - so far DD2 has been relatively easy. Still having a few feeding issues and a posterior tongue tie has just been discovered but she's quite content and not high maintenance so far!

She's been sleeping on my chest for the last 2 hours so just going to attempt to take her upstairs where she will inevitably wake up!

I hope you all get to meet your babies soon

Mustbeinsane1984 · 27/06/2017 23:45

Hi sleep, glad everything is going ok with you and baby. My son was tongue tied and had it snipped with surgical scissors at 3 days, didn't even bleed! Made bf so much easier. Poor soul couldn't suckle so well.

I'm feeling not too bad. Cramps have eased off but had a bit of a show earlier. Doctor thinks things are beginning.....I'm not so sure. Although I am rather irratable and don't know what I want, tired but can't sleep, hungry but not lol Time will tell!

CaptainWarbeck · 28/06/2017 02:47

Exciting must! I had cramps on and off for a while, it was losing my plug that kicked things off into regular early labour I think.

Eat if you can. I forgot to eat dinner and was absolutely starving after giving birth!

Donostia · 28/06/2017 04:32

still fucking pregnant and after another sleepless night i'm desperate.
What can i say that will make them
induce me? I can't carry on
like this. I'm feeling so much resentment I'm worried about not bonding with the baby. Sad Forgive the dramatics but i'm so so tired Shock

Mustbeinsane1984 · 28/06/2017 06:32

I managed a 4/5 hours sleep. Woke up and nothing ☹️ DHand DS just leaving for school and work so I'm going a massive walk to the market in town.

Donostia I really sympathize with you! It is so frustrating. Can you not call your doctor and tell them you are worried and not coping? I am just constantly worried when baby is not moving so the first bit of doubt I will be on the phone. Hugs to you Donostia. Maybe today will be the day......

qate · 28/06/2017 08:32

donostia I feel your pain - was due on Saturday and still waiting!! They had scheduled an induction tomorrow but we've pushed back on it for now - feels too early at 40+5 (no medical reason, just the date our doc was available this week), and with everything else going on I feel like we're so close so want to give baby a few more days. My patience is wearing thin though!!!!!!

MrsWakey269 · 28/06/2017 14:16

I am 40weeks today with DC2 ! Had 2 sweeps already and only thing that has happened is a show last week. Totally fed up and have found a new pregnancy super power - unfortunately Sad extremely heighten sense of smell! Can smell everything and mostly DH or anyone elses breath!! Poor DH has brushed and cleaned his mouth/teeth more than normal and i still cant go to near him when he talks. I feel so mean Blush

TabbyTurmoil · 28/06/2017 17:51

Hi all, am 41+3 with DC2 and mightily over it but still hoping to labour spontaneously. Have had two sweeps but nothing much to show for them.

Unlike some of you I am greatly hoping not to need induction as had planned a home birth and have been told that induction would be by ARM (as cervix ripe) which sounds like no fun / high chance of interventions.

By this time with DC1 my waters had broken and I was in labour...

user1497012351 · 28/06/2017 18:50

Hi everyone and sorry to hear there aren't more babies!

I had a sweep booked for today but mentioned to the midwife I thought I may be leaking waters. So she said she couldn't do a sweep any more so now I'm back in the waiting game. And I don't think it was my waters after all so I wish I'd never have said anything.
I am also finding it hard to sleep and last night at 2am came downstairs to sleep on the sofa again. For some reason the sofa under a pile of towels and with a cushion rather than a pillow seems to be my most comfortable sleeping position. Husband is not happy at my new solo sleeping place and my new addiction to love island, watching it in the early hours. Has anyone seen it? I recommend it. Takes my mind off the whole being pregnant watching all these fit men and women crack on with each other.

Midwife says I can have a sweep tomorrow so I'm booked in for that at 2.30.

Fingers crossed for all you that the labour gets started soon!

I'm having a glass of red wine tonight!

Mustbeinsane1984 · 29/06/2017 07:18

Good morning all! Now 40+4! Decided that I'm not going to moan or rant today, maybe that has an effect on baby not wanting to come out!

Lost more mucus plug over yesterday and this morning :) A step in the right direction. Been for some long walks and the yoga ball has had to be re-inflated I have bounced so much! My DS hijacked it this morning before school and when asked what he was doing, he replied 'I am trying to make the baby come!' 🤣 It was raining last night so decided to go to shopping centre in town so I could get a good walk in. Obviously there were shops and some amazing sales 😜 DS (4yo) choose a little knitted outfit, it really is hideous but he said it was very pretty. I didn't have the heart not to buy it. 😂

Donostia - how are you today? 🤞
Mrswakey - I know what you mean about the sense of smell. Strange isn't it!
Tabby - Good luck and hope you go spontaneously for HB. I would love one but there is not much support where I am for them. By this time with my first I already had more than 2weeks of newborn cuddles as he arrived at 38 weeks.
User - Hope everything goes OK with the sweep today and it gets things started for you!

Positive thoughts! Our babies won't be long! Good luck to everyone Flowers

TabbyTurmoil · 29/06/2017 07:38

Thanks for the positive thoughts must they are needed here! Your DS sounds adorable.

My DS is at nursery today so I can get a proper walk in after my third sweep. Have massage and reflexology this afternoon so hopefully that should at least be relaxing.

Good luck for your sweep user, may it be effective!

Donostia · 29/06/2017 12:35

Just popping on to say that baby was born yesterday! 0 to baby in 5 hours Shock

There is hope! I had the routine gynaecologist appointment where they said i didn't look ready at all and would probably still have a while to go... 2 hours later and my waters broke spectacularly, 5 hours and baby here! I hadn't had a single
symptom or sign (had been obsessively symptom hunting!)

So fingers crossed so tightly the same happens for all of you.

CaptainWarbeck · 29/06/2017 13:52

Wooop congratulations donostia!! That was quick when it finally kicked off. Hope you're enjoying those snuggly cuddles.

TabbyTurmoil · 29/06/2017 15:00

Wow donostia that sounds like the dream! Congratulations and fingers crossed for more the same!

Mustbeinsane1984 · 29/06/2017 15:42

Congrats Donostia! Sounds great! 5 hours!! Hope you are feeling loads better, please send labour and good vibes this way....hope you and baby are well Flowers

user1497012351 · 29/06/2017 17:28

Donostia what excellent news congratulations! It gives me hope!

My sweep was done today's and I bled a teeny bit and all feels completely normal, not a sign of anything. But I am also it going to moan (that much) and instead have a delicious curry tonight followed by some sex with dh. All in all a pretty nice evening :)

Sending labour vibes way to you all Smile

CaptainWarbeck · 30/06/2017 09:49

How's everyone doing?

Creature, must, user, tabby, qate, mrswakey... I think are all still waiting for babies.

Sending everyone labour vibes... it won't be long now!

TabbyTurmoil · 30/06/2017 10:03

Grumpy and booked for induction tomorrow. Basically given up on home birth - had a crap day yesterday processing that and trying to move on positively.

Really thought I'd have had this baby by now.

Hope there's more positive news elsewhere!

Mustbeinsane1984 · 30/06/2017 12:15

Hi all, hope you are all well! Still no sign of baby here ☹️

To be honest I'm so tired and frustrated that all I have done is lounge around watching TV and doing coursework. Not good when trying to get a baby to shift.

Had more show, more bloody this time but no significant pains. I know if I go to hospital they will induce me so trying to stay put and hope things go naturally.

Was hoping I would go through the week as my doctor is not on call at the weekends.

Any of you ladies waiting have any shows or symptoms?
