I'm 39+2 and eagerly awaiting the arrival of DC2.

Who else is analyzing ever little twinge and cramp??

DD was born 39+5. I was checked over yesterday due to a very tender, sore bump (everything fine) and baby wasn't yet engaged.

Are you all prepared??

Must my waters went on Monday. No contractions, induced Tuesday night. Pintocin didn't work, drip started on Wednesday morning. No pain relief until transition and used gas and air. Then he was born!

Very different to the last induction which started under identical circumstances! This one wasn't anywhere near as stressful as the first though and was a really positive experience.

Mustbeinsane1984 · 17/06/2017 16:56

Glad to hear some positive story's. Just felt like with the drip the contractions came in too quick and there was no build up. Plus no pain relief so was pretty intense.
The hospital I'm giving birth in has a 12 % section rate and 14% epidural. So not too high! Although I was offered paracetamol AFTER the birth of my son. In a crazy way I am excited and really looking forward to the birth but in another I just want my baby here and it to be done with. 😂

Apparently the mobile epidural will numb the contractions but will still experience the pain when pushing, crowning etc. Don't know if I am convinced yet!

How is everyone today? It's a warm 36 here and my little one was up with his swim pants and goggles to go to the water park. Been there for the day, so refreshing in this heat. Had a few niggles today but nothing to indicate labour 😭 A night on the gym ball hopefully will help.

Beautiful baby girl born today @ 1.46pm. It was a nice birth, I had her in the birthing pool and she was born in her sac which is apparently good luck!!

Will be following this thread still to see how everyone is getting on - good luck to you all!

Wow congratulations sleep! She's gorgeous! I have been lurking throughout the day for your update. Sounds amazing and yes I have heard being born in Caul is very special!

How are you feeling? Are you home yet?

Enjoy your squishy newborn cuddles 😍

WizardLizard · 18/06/2017 00:04

Congratulations Sleep! Have been thinking of you today! She's gorgeous! Sounds like you had a wonderful birthing experience too. Smile

SleepForTheWeek · 18/06/2017 00:26

Yes we got home at tea time and ordered a curry and I even had a small glass of champagne!!

She is being a typical newborn and not sleeping anywhere but on me. She's latched on a few times but she gets pretty angry and frustrated so thinking it'll be a long night ahead of us!!

Congratulations, Sleep. She looks perfect. So glad it went well for you. Smile

Donostia · 18/06/2017 08:38

Can I join? 39+1 and so miserable and uncomfortable. Yesterday was a busy day at DS school summer fete and after my bach and bump ached terribly so I was almost sure something might start in the night, but StillFuckingPregnant.

Congratulations on the new arrivals!!

SunnyAfternoonFizz · 18/06/2017 08:40

41+1 today and miserable. Need to decide if I want to be induced or not now, anyone have any experiences they'd like to share?

CaptainWarbeck · 18/06/2017 08:46

Congrats sleep Flowers giving the rest of us hope! No one's been pregnant for ever, right?

Donostia we must be the same due date. 24th?

Donostia · 18/06/2017 09:03

Yes captainwarbeck race you!!!??

DS came at 39+4, but aside from him my family members do tend to have late babies so I'm not sure what prediction to make. We live abroad and UK based MIL is our childcare and she keeps asking when to come out!! I've gone for Thursday in the hope that sod's law will get the baby moving before then (dh can sort the childcare issue!!)

LadyNymeriaGhost · 18/06/2017 09:04

Sunny, I'm going in for induction today at 11. So I shall let you know. Quite a few PPs kindly shared their induction experiences for me up thread.
I'm going in prepared for a long wait!

Mustbeinsane1984 · 18/06/2017 09:40

Aww well done sleep! I hope your next guy went ok 🙂

Lady, good luck for today, let us know how you get on, so exciting!

Donostia and captain, I'm a day behind you both, due 25th, the race is on 😂
How are you both feeling? Which country are you in Donostia? I am in the same situation as you. I'm in Italy. How has your anti natal care been?

I really thought it was happening last night. Extremely painful contractions lasting about 90 seconds for over 2 hours. Managed to fall asleep eventually about 4 and have woke up this morning as though nothing happened 😭

Good luck everyone

Mustbeinsane1984 · 18/06/2017 09:41

Sleep - 'your next guy' apologies! Meant to say I hope your night went well! 😂

OhDearToby · 18/06/2017 09:49

Congratulations sleep!

So I was fast asleep until 3.45am when my waters broke then my not so little (9lbs 12oz!!) bundle turned up at 5.21am! Good fathers day present for dp!

SleepForTheWeek · 18/06/2017 10:06

Congratulations ohdear that's amazing!!! Hope you are both doing well.

Come on girls!! Get tweaking those nipples 😋

Toby congratulations! And excellent time from waters braking til the birth. I want mine to be like that!

I packed the baby's hospital bag last night and there are a few things to go into mine.

Donostia · 18/06/2017 10:32

oh congratulations Toby!!! Quick labour vibes hopefully coming our way!

must Im in Northern Spain (Basque Country). The care has actually been really good, DS also born here so can't compare to another country but i've got a few extra tests and scans than uk friends have. They are obsessed with weight gain, of which I have shot off the graph, which is a bit depressing!

CaptainWarbeck · 18/06/2017 11:16

Another baby! Congrats Toby. What a quick birth!! Enjoy those snuggles.

I'm abroad too, in Oz. Don't think things are too different here. I have a student midwife following my pregnancy this time round, which is quite lovely as she's been to every appointment and will drop things and come to the birth (when it finally happens) so it'll be nice to have a familiar face there.

I went through some boxes of clothes we've been given for this baby today - lots of lovely little pink babygros which all got sorted and thoroughly washed and dried as I'm feeling full of energy with no preggo rage for the first time in weeks! DH said it was like being in a different house Blush

SunnyAfternoonFizz · 18/06/2017 11:22

Good luck Lady, I hope it is a quick and smooth process!

LadyNymeriaGhost · 18/06/2017 11:44

Thank you! And congratulations Toby. In record time, too!

Mustbeinsane1984 · 18/06/2017 14:47

Wow oh dear! Congratulations! I hope mines as fast! Yes excellent Father's Day present! I hope you are both well.

Donostia I love northern Spain. Spent a few months travelling there in my younger days. Loved San Sebastián and st jean de Luz. Yes they are the same here about weight. I have gained 10 kilo due to HG so not too bad, just all belly. Care here is great but you have to pay for it. Had about 8/9 scans in total and been with an ob/gyn the whole way through. Had every test under the sun also. No real midwives here unless you pay private for birthing classes or lactation help etc. All a bit different.

That sounds great captain! I would love to have a student, would feel really supported with a friendly face like you say. Where in Oz are you?

Sleep I'm scared to tweak the nipples! 😂

NurseP · 18/06/2017 19:04

Congratulations Sleep. What a beauty.
I am due to be induced tomorrow. Just got to wait for the call in the morning! Eeek!

Donostia · 19/06/2017 04:16

Urgh. Another night woken up at 4am, not by contractions but by horrific heartburn. Angry

LadyNymeriaGhost · 19/06/2017 08:08

Morning. How is everyone doing?
Well, the gel went in at 5.30pm, contractions started almost immediately. Up to delivery at about 10.30 and DS was born at 10.55pm. 7lb9. It's been a looooong night. No time for my strep antibiotics, so he's got to be observed and have anti biotics for 32 hours.
