Hello,

I'm currently 5 weeks and 3 days pregnant and just wondering if there's anyone else in a similar time frame & wanting to share the highs and lows of the journey along with me Smile

Having a stressy day, as a bit of brown/pink discharge today. I've had this before and it didn't end well for me, so I'm feeling really pessimistic. If I had some symptoms I'm sure I'd feel a bit better!

On a positive note, I got 3+ on a clearblue for the first time today. And I was proactive and went to the docs to get my HCG levels checked, with another appointment lined up on Wednesday.

It's going to be a long week. 🙈

poppylou27 · 12/06/2017 19:35

@Susiebabs awww I'm sorry to hear that Sadalthough it ended badly for you another time, it doesn't mean it will this time! My mum experienced this and actual bleeding all the way through her pregnancy with my sister, and I've read all over that it doesn't always mean the worst - you've done the right thing going to the docs which I'm sure will put your mind at rest. When did you say your next scan was?

I had brown discharge with DD which really worried me but got an early scan and everything was ok.

Had my midwife appointment yesterday, huge stack of leaflets and printouts of things I already know from last time. Same DVD they gave me last time too which I remember was half in Swedish so not much good to me Grin Doctor next week, bloods the week after, then I can book my scan between 11 and 13 weeks - can't bloody wait for that!
And found out that going to sauna is ok even in the first trimester (I avoided during the first trimester with DD)

Susiebabs · 13/06/2017 07:06

@natsku and @poppy - thanks, it's a waiting game huh.

Did you pick up the sauna info from your Swedish video lol? Booking in appt down, that's a good thing to tick off the list. :-)

Natsku · 13/06/2017 08:45

Hah nah from the midwife. I'm in Finland so I reckon if anyone knows about saunas its going to be the professionals here!

Those with other DC, when do you plan on telling them? Not sure how much longer I can keep it from DD because she's going to start wondering why I'm feeling so ill for so long.

bluechameleon · 13/06/2017 12:19

Hello, I'm 5.3 weeks today. I'm waiting for a scan next Monday because Iie had a previous ectopic so am at increased risk. Started feeling really nauseous today - I'm really struggling with my toddler. He's watched a lot of TV so far today! Last time I had nausea and vomiting for 16 weeks which I'm dreading happening again!

Pumasyta · 13/06/2017 13:59

Hi everyone, 5 weeks pregnant. Got hypothyroidism, and a large fibroid. Quite risky pregnancy. So scared... Have seen JP, did blood test but still waiting for referral to specialist. TSH quit high 5.8 (needs to be under 2). Also, last 2 days I have brownish spotting. How long have you wait until you've been contacted from the hospital for the first scan?

NW10teacher · 13/06/2017 14:09

I've just been for for 12 week scan and found out I'm carrying twins! Had two MC recently, so I was thrilled to get to 12 weeks, but this was unexpected! I had literally NO idea.

Natsku · 13/06/2017 14:39

Have you told about the spotting? Hopefully you'll get a scan sooner as its a risky pregnancy.

Wow congrats NW10teacher! Part of me hopes to have twins so I can get two DC for the price of one pregnancy. The saner part of me hopes not!

Susiebabs · 13/06/2017 17:28

Congratulations on your twins - lovely news! Do you know if they're identical or not?

@puma - contact your EPU directly if you're in the UK. My local EPU won't scan under any circumstances until 7 weeks (from LMP rather than conception) but some do from 5.5 weeks. Private scans can be done from 6 weeks as well. My pregnancy is also high risk, and I'm also spotting a bit and trying to stay calm, but that's easier said than done I know. Sending good vibes.

Hi all
I'm having a nightmare. Not really sure how far I am as only came of pill first week of May so having had a proper period yet.
First pregnancy and very worried for two reasons!
Firstly I've been spotting and bleeding on and off since Saturday so 4 days now. Zero pain and not masses. Varies from pink brown and red! I have had no symptoms the whole time so I'm convinced not there. Had an internal scan last wkd and another booked for 25th but nervous as hell. Another reason is I did a clear blue test Kat wed which said 2-3 weeks and I did another one today and says the same and in theory should say 3+
Has anybody experienced any of this and gone on to be ok????
Thank you in advance a very nervous lady xx

poppylou27 · 14/06/2017 18:52

Hi @Roomar

I don't have any experience in this however judging by the time you came off your pill itll probably take around 2 weeks or so for ovulation to occur, you're probably around 4- and half weeks which would explain absence of symptoms - I have hardly any and I'm at 6w2days... in terms of the test the amount of hcg it detects can vary and growth is never steady or standardised so I wouldn't read too much into it - maybe in a week or so try it again and see what comes up..
Spotting is common in healthy pregnancies too, it's just sometimes it can indicate a problem hence why ringing the docs is advised - what did your scan show?
You're completely right to feel nervous, I would be too, Is there any way of getting in before 25th just for your own reassurance?

Hi @poppylou27
Thank you for your reply.
At the scan they said they could see the sac and yolk but could of been too early to see more. They could only see it on internal scan.
You know how th docs seem to add on two weeks do you therefore mean 4 +2 possibly or 2+2? Sorry I'm very new to this and find it very complicated and stressful.
Xx

poppylou27 · 14/06/2017 19:34

They only sac gestational sac and yolk sac on my internal and I was 5weeks and 2 days so it sounds right that hey couldn't see anything else, usually it's 6 weeks before they can see anything and it's literally a speck lol..
I mean with the doctor added 2weeks you'd be 4 weeks and 2 but without the doctor added you'd be 2weeks and 2.. last week at my internal scan I was doctor added 5 weeks and 2 but technically 3 weeks and 2 lol if that makes any sense?! It's strange they add on those two weeks seeing as though we're definitely not pregnant in those 2 weeks haha but who am I to question it lol.. I had my scan exactly a week ago so now I'm 6 weeks and 2 days (doctor added) and 4 weeks and 2 without doctor added lol.. I've got another scan lined up for Monday when I'll be seven weeks to try and detect baby (fingers toes and everything tightly crossed!)

@Roomar sorry you're having so much stress. Re: clearblue digital weeks indicator - on Sunday (when I was 5+1) I got a reading of 2-3 weeks. The day after I got Hcg bloods drawn at doctors which was 16398! The threshold for changing to 3+ is 2700 and I was well over that. Long story short? They can't always be trusted.

Can you go to GP and ask to have hcg checked tmrw? I have some spotting, which is why I got mine done. A second sample will be taken 48 hours later and as long as the numbers have risen by at least 60%, things are positive. I get my second set of results back tmrw and I'm on edge too so I totally sympathise with how you're feeling.

WineandDine · 15/06/2017 13:44

Hi all, just checking in.
Roomar - I had spotting with my first pregnancy in the early weeks (DS now nearly 2) and it's very common so hang in there. Agree with poppy and susie that if it's really causing you stress and anxiety to push for a scan earlier if you can though.

Almost 6wks here and still no major symptoms to speak of although feel a bit hungover a lot of the time, anyone else have this? (obviously not from drinking Smile) Still lots of niggles/mild cramps and starting to feel pretty wiped out by 5pm. If only toddlers went bed at 5.30... Hmm

Mrstobe90 · 15/06/2017 15:56

Hi can I join?

I'm 4 weeks and 2 days :) We thought it might take a while to conceive so wanted to get a head start on trying and we conceived on our first cycle :) I only found out 2 days ago!
Really excited but trying not to get hopes up too much!! Let's hope we all have sticky babies!!!

poppylou27 · 15/06/2017 16:07

Congratulations @Mrstobe90 xxx
