Hello,

I'm currently 5 weeks and 3 days pregnant and just wondering if there's anyone else in a similar time frame & wanting to share the highs and lows of the journey along with me Smile

I have another scan two weeks today. It is going to be the longest fortnight. I still do a pregnancy test every couple of days, I'm a lunatic! I'll stop once I get symptoms (or B&M bargains runs out). I wish I could be all chilled about it, but I'm far too much of a control freak...

poppylou27 · 08/06/2017 20:04

@Susiebabs oh my god I do one every morning too & have branded myself a lunatic too haha! I don't really know what I'm looking for aside from darkening results but it's to the point now where I don't think it could get any darker lol! I've got another scan a week on Monday too which can't come soon enough!! You're seriously not on your own feeling the way you are - I'm exactly the same!

Good to know! 😂

ReturnofSaturn · 09/06/2017 10:41

Hi guys im back, posted earlier in the thread about having scan at 6+2 and not much being seen

Had first blood test to test HCG and it was 37,000 which doc said was very high!? And is average of about 6-7 weeks pregnancy. Yet they couldnt see anything on my scan!?

Whats going on? Is this an ectopic or empty sac pregnancy? Im scared and past being upset now, i just want to know whats going on!

Owl1011 · 09/06/2017 15:17

Return - Sorry to hear that you're still waiting for an answer, have they offered you another scan or told you what next steps would be?

Natsku · 09/06/2017 15:35

Oh Return that does sound a bit scary to me, I hope they'll be giving you another scan soon

Susiebabs · 09/06/2017 16:38

Hopefully you have another scan lined up. That's the only way you'll start to get answers by the sounds of things. Have you called the EPU? I'm sorry you have to go through this, how horrible.

ReturnofSaturn · 10/06/2017 07:51

Hi. Thanks for replies.
I have a scan booked for Saturday 17th as the docs said to book it for 2 weeks time.
Just worried its a long time to wait though if it is an ectopic. As am 7 weeks now going off LMP Confused

poppylou27 · 10/06/2017 08:28

@ReturnofSaturn if you're really concerned & you start getting pain I would just go straight to the EPU or A&E because if it is ectopic they should really see you sooner!
Fingers crossed everything is okay though and baby is just hiding.. Did they give you a vaginal scan when you went or was it just the abdomen scan?

Hi it was abdomen scan. I shall copy what the scan report says.

''Cystic lesion within the endometrial canal with surrounding decidual reaction, likely representing early gestational sac. No fetal pole or yolk sac is seen. Cervix is long and closed. Ovaries unremarkable, no suspicious adnexal mass or significant free fluid.

Conclusion: Pregnancy of unknown location. Appearances are likely that of very early gestation however ectopic pregnancy cannot be excluded.

Just so confused. It seems they were not confident its even a 'proper sac' and would have to be very very very early if it was. Which is just not possible going off last period and hcg levels. I will be 7 weeks tomorrow.

poppylou27 · 10/06/2017 08:51

@ReturnofSaturn you are so patient, id be tearing my hair out!

When I had my scan they couldn't be confident they could see anything from the abdomen scan and wasn't until they did the vaginal scan that they saw anything, I was only 5 weeks and 2 days though so earlier than you but it could be possible you ovulated later than you thought and growing is just slower at the minute which is very common when you google around for dating scans and sizes etc, as everyone is different. Your hcg levels are high and again it does fluctuate between different people - could even be a sign of twins if it's hat high but possibly earlier than 7 weeks.
I really wouldn't lose hope and if it's getting you worked up I would go down to the hospital and demand an internal scan - you are absolutely right to be concerned and don't feel like you're over reacting or anything, you can't empathise with someone unless you've been in the same position and although I haven't had ectopic I suffered a mc a couple of months ago, so don't let them keep you waiting if it's getting to you, all could very likely be fine and the extra stress it's adding won't be helping Sad I really hope you get an answer soon and I have everything crossed for you!

Thankyou Poppylou for that quick reply!

I dont feel very patient just following the doctors and booking scans etc for when they say. Plus i dont really want to have the next one too early and be put into the same situ. At least come next Saturday they should defo be able to see something, no excuses! And if they dont then i will demand further immediate action.

Im just worried that the high HCG levels does indeed mean its 6-7 weeks pregnancy- but somewhere is shouldn't be. As surely at that high HCG if it was normal then they should have been able to see far more in my uterus!

poppylou27 · 10/06/2017 09:20

That's ok 😊

I think you're right for waiting as leaving it a week should definitely allow you to see something on the scan!
There could be a good explanation for it all but in my experience doctors don't do much for reassurance (probably afraid of getting sued lol) but for now, you've got high hcg levels and quite likely something developing in the endometrial canal which is good! Try to stay focused on that until Saturday (it will no doubt feel like a lifetime until then) but in the meantime, stay positive & strong and if anything happens in between (pains etc) then I would get yourself down to hospital to make sure everything's okay!
You're so brave, it's inspiring!
Fingers crossed so tightly for you

Bless you poppy!
I do not feel brave in the slightest! Have convinced myself its ectopic and frightened myself. One of the doctors did say with some ectopics that a 'reaction' can occur in the uterus too. So im convinced this is whats happened.

poppylou27 · 10/06/2017 09:40

@ReturnofSaturn stay positive! There is a chance it could be, but also it may not be.. keep distracted and look after yourself and you'll have your answers soon!
This coming from the most impatient person in world lol - I can totally empathise with you!
Fingers tightly crossed

Every hour feels as long as a week in the jail huh.

I fell victim to the clearblue weeks indicator tests today. At 5+2 my rational self knows it's perfectly fine to see 2+3, but my lunatic self panics. Because I've bought so many pregnancy tests off amazon prime as well, cookies on my phone are showing me baby things everywhere I look! There really is no escape is there! 😂

Hi,
I'm new to the website but would like to follow this thread. We've just found out that I'm roughly 4 weeks. We've been wanting a baby for a while now and just thought 'when it happens, it happens' - and now we're wanting to tell every single person :)

poppylou27 · 10/06/2017 12:34

Awww congratulations @user1497042360

Hello ladies :-) I'm 4 1/2 weeks pregnant with my first, I keep getting the occasional cramp in my tum, is this normal? Trying not to worry. Hope everyone is well!

poppylou27 · 11/06/2017 08:07

Hello @TLH0307
I have been experiencing the same and I am 5and a half, I think it is pretty normal - from what I have found out about it, our uterus' are expanding so much to make room and there is so much going on in there I think it is normal.
Obviously I can't say for certain but there are ALOT of people experiencing the same thing so it would suggest that yes it's normal -
From what I've read, unless it's excruciating pain, it is nothing to worry about Smile
Congratulations on your pregnancy Grin

Can I join please?
5 weeks today based on period date but think I ovulated a bit later - no symptoms really except mood swings and being totally off chocolate!!

Have had twinges all week in my stomach and some dark discharge- had anyone else had this? I'm finding it quite worrying!

We are waiting until the end of the week to see our GP.... and definitely booking an early scan!

Good luck and congratulations to all of you!

TLH0307 · 11/06/2017 09:01

Thank you Poppylou! Yeah it's not excruiciating at all, a bit like a mild period pain. Eeeek it's so exciting Grin xx

poppylou27 · 11/06/2017 09:48

Yep that's exactly how I'd explain mine too! I think all is fine!

Hello @magpiemay .. I haven't had any dark discharge this time but I had some before in another pregnancy, I went in for an early scan and saw heartbeat etc so don't worry yourself too much!
Dark discharge can be common and it is usually a sign of old blood which is on the whole nothing to worry about unless it turns red in which case you'd want to go to epu just to get it seen to but in most cases it's really nothing to worry about and just one of those wonderful pregnancy anomalies - probably old blood from implantation in the uterus Smile
Obviously if you get more worried about it I'd recommend the gp as no amount of people telling me it's okay would satisfy my anxiousness lol!

Thanks PoppyLou I'm trying to just be patient for now but feel like every day is like a week!! I'm sure you're all feeling the same!

Any ideas for passing the time?

poppylou27 · 11/06/2017 12:25

@magpiemay I don't but if you find any ideas please share them!!!
Haha
