Something light hearted for a bit of fun!!!

Obviously everyone is looking forward to meeting their new baby etc.

But what else are you really looking forward to????

I'm looking forward to sleeping on my front and eating a delicious rare fillet steak. Nom!!

For me it was my feet shrinking to normal size, being able to put my socks on, lying on my back, being cool (summer baby and heatwave!).

Hollyhop17 · 18/04/2017 21:05

I also just worriedly told my DH I had a Mr Whippy last week... I didnt know, wont be having anymore, Ill stick to ice lollies!

hopsalong · 18/04/2017 21:13

Not being uncomfortable all the time AND unable to relieve said discomfort. I want to have a fucking hot bath with loads of dodgy essential oils while drinking a big gin and tonic or strong craft lager, and then to slather by poor aching back (which admittedly might be better?) with tonnes of Voltarol, before getting dressed in normal comfy PJs and going to sleep flat on my back (even if only for an hour) without a ludicrous number of pillows.

Also looking forward to being able to go and comfort my toddler if he cries in the night by nimbly climbing over the gate into his room.

If my vulval varicose veins also shrink back to a size where I can walk without feeling like I have half a pound of throbbing meat between my legs, I'll be in very heaven.

AnyFarrahFowler · 18/04/2017 21:14

All I wanted when I was pregnant with DS was pate, Brie & red wine, all together in a delicious little picnic, and everyone could fuck off and let me inhale it all to myself.

Then when he was born, I didn't fancy it.
I was furious.

I'm still only first trimester at the moment, so what I'm looking forward to the most is not feeling sick all bloody day. And wine.

DaisyChainsForever · 18/04/2017 21:16

Cheese, pate and Baileys. (not necessarily all at the same time!)

INeedNewShoes · 18/04/2017 21:19

I wouldn't worry too much about Mr Whippy. I doubt listeria grows too readily in a mix of hydrogenated vegetable fats, skimmed milk powder and E numbers Wink so as long as you bought it from a place that looks as though it cleans the machine properly, it's probably fine.

Hollyhop17 · 18/04/2017 21:23

Thanks New Shoes, as a first timer I am normally lretty vigilant but that one slipped through!

Will also second the running. I was training for the Brighton half before I found out and am jealous as I see people running now. Looking forward to getting back to park run at the least!

SheepyFun · 18/04/2017 21:41

Just to encourage those of you with SPD, while my pre-birth pain was somewhat different (upper back, which is apparently unusual), I found recovering from a c-section MUCH less painful and unpleasant than the back pain. I don't know how long it takes for things to get back to normal after SPD, but it's definitely worth looking forward to.

krakentoast · 18/04/2017 21:47

A large glass of some kind of delicious Italian red wine.
A cold pale ale with a pub lunch, featuring a beefburger cooked rare.
Not having people say "Sleep as much as you can now, because when the baby comes..."
Walking up the stairs with joy and ease.
A tasty dinner of shark, swordfish and marlin. I've never eaten any of those before and have no idea where I would even buy them but the NHS advice to avoid them is somehow really intriguing

BentleyBelly · 18/04/2017 21:50

Not having to wee every hour and wine

FamilySpartan · 18/04/2017 21:51

Nicecuppa- Phew! I just panic-googled that as I had smoked salmon on Sunday!

I'm looking forward to gin and burping less.

INeedNewShoes · 18/04/2017 21:57

I've eaten smoked salmon throughout my pregnancy, just always made sure its Scottish (as per guidelines).

FraggleRock77 · 18/04/2017 22:00

CJB1980 · 18/04/2017 22:54

Normal sized ankles.
Pinot grigio
Prosecco
Pate
Weight lifting
Normal breathing
14 days til due date and it can't come soon enough. Keeping everything crossed, except legs, that I don't go over SmileWine

SuperSix77 · 18/04/2017 23:01

Seeing how much his big bros dote on him.

Wine. And gin.

Being able to breathe/move quickly again.

Not needing to pee every 47 seconds.

Time to enjoy being in the baby bubble away from all the stresses of work & also trying to juggle a 6 child family.

Newborn snuggles. 😍

coxsorangepippin · 18/04/2017 23:10

Sitting with my legs crossed, sipping wine with no indigestion. Walking above 1mph.

Glitterbubble · 18/04/2017 23:28

Holding my first baby ☺️ of course, but beyond that it's definitely...

Wine, steak, blue cheese sauce and cured meats !!

OnNaturesCourse · 18/04/2017 23:52

Paté on toast!

sailorcherries · 19/04/2017 04:24

Not being pregnant any more. I hate pregnancy and all it entails, particularly the severe heartburn that makes me sick and the SPD/sciatica I've developed.

I am also looking forward not actually sleeping. Not tossing and turning all night then giving up at 4am (obviously this is a long term goal).

A small glass of wine and baileys. I've not actually missed alcohol but just one glass of each would be lovely.

FeelingForSnow · 19/04/2017 06:13

-sleep on my back
-get my nice long skinny legs back
-a pint of hoppy beer

katemeister · 19/04/2017 06:22

Not being sick and actually wanting to eat real food!

haveacupoftea · 19/04/2017 06:31

Getting on top in bed without crushing the very breath out of DP Blush

rhodes2015 · 19/04/2017 06:33

Sleeping on my front even if it's not straight away. I've forgot what comfortable feels like.

Seeing what she looks like and cuddles.

Being off work Grin 8weeks left!

traceyturnblatt · 19/04/2017 06:51

I'm 37 weeks and my list had been growing since around 12 weeks!

Not being in pain
Not sounding like I'm breathing out my arse when I walk up stairs
Being able to hug and lift my DS without thinking I'm going to snap my hips
Gin
Gin
Gin
Gin
Rare steak
Being able to see my toes and hoping my ankles return in replace of the cankles I've got just now
Wearing more than one outfit that normally consists of stripes and me pulling the trouser band up all.the.time
And did I mention gin?

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 19/04/2017 07:15

Being able to bend over without having to plan my descent, and making a stupid noise on the way back up.

Ridiculously hot bath.

Drinking Diet Coke whilst eating Easter eggs. All the Easter eggs.

Being able to sleep on my back and my right hand side. First ds was in an awkward position for birth, this one is in the best birth position currently so I'm keeping to my left side sleeping religiously. It's really painful.

Wearing my old clothes. I'm so sick of my maternity clothes.

5 weeks to go...
