Something light hearted for a bit of fun!!!

Obviously everyone is looking forward to meeting their new baby etc.

But what else are you really looking forward to????

I'm looking forward to sleeping on my front and eating a delicious rare fillet steak. Nom!!

GastonsWife · 19/04/2017 19:28

Mabel it's because of the caffeine. I think you can have one can and one cup of tea a day :-)

Mabel83 · 19/04/2017 19:58

Phew, thanks gastonswife, was a bit worried there. But in the grand scheme of things, a can of coke or a pint of cider?! Hmmm. Im generally a fairly healthy eater other than the coke and my morning coffee, been craving fruit and raw veggie nibbles so can't be that bad surely xx

samatamfabahaba · 19/04/2017 20:02

Red wine. All of the red wine.
Being able to poo without having to drink black coffee and eat a shit load of prunes first.
Sleeping on my front.
Pate on crusty French bread.
Cold white wine and pistachio nuts.
Champagne.
Wearing heels again, god I miss wearing heels so much I didn't even realise.
Wearing high waisted skinny jeans WITH A ZIP.
Sex. But proper "chuck me around" sex.
Being able to use the toilet a normal amount, not the 1617384849 times an hour I am currently doing.
Being able to paint my toe nails.
Being able to put socks on myself.
Being able to shave my legs and foof without needing a sit down halfway through.
Not jumping every ten seconds when the baby is booting my internal organs for fun.
Not having to have my OH pull me up from most sitting positions to go to the aforementioned toilet a squillion times a day.

Seven weeks to go...

dede124 · 19/04/2017 20:12

Getting my body back 😒. And a HUGE glass of red wine 😃

mrsbumblebees · 19/04/2017 20:13

I must be hormonal because this thread just made me laugh and cry at the same time!!! It's so good to know that others feel the same! This is my first pregnancy and very much wanted so I feel dreadful for wishing the time away but I am so looking forward to being able to eat and drink what I want again (wine, rare steak, alllll the stinky cheese!), to do HIIT in the gym, to be able to do gardening and fuss my cats without getting paranoid about toxo, and being able to hold and see my baby and know that he/she is ok, that will be best of all!

(Wine a close second Wink)

MummyPenguin2 · 19/04/2017 22:08

I'm 39+4 and currently despise everything about being pregnant, but here are my top picks:

Prawn sandwiches from m&s
Wine
Pain-free walking
Not needing a pee overnight
Being able to bend down (I'm at that stage where if I drop something it's gone forever)
Being able to shave. I'm booked in for a C section next week. I was reminded not to shave my pubic hair pre-op and I just scoffed. I literally cannot see it anymore let alone shave!

Lemondrop09 · 19/04/2017 22:30

MummyPenguin what's wrong with a prawn sandwich? NHS say cold cooked prawns are fine and the mayo is almost certainly pasteurised (it's just homemade you have to watch). I'd eat the sandwich! Nom.

MummyPenguin2 · 19/04/2017 22:46

Really??! I thought seafood was a no-no unless cooked through and piping hot. I've been craving them since my morning sickness settled at 14 weeks. Don't tell me I could have had them all along!

user301204 · 19/04/2017 23:01

What's the issue with pistachio nuts?

CatRash · 20/04/2017 07:12

I've eaten prawn sandwiches several times!! Didn't think they were banned?! Go and treat yourself to a prawn sandwich today Penguin!!

Saying that I've also had Mr Whippy and Diet Coke which others have mentioned. Tbh unless it says to specifically avoid it on the NHS website then I eat it!

Yeah deffo not being pregnant anymore. I love feeling the baby move and I do actually love how my body has changed but it can all fuck off now Grin 39+ 6 and I am ready.

Otherwise - sleeping on my stomach and sex in more than one position

throughgrittedteeth · 20/04/2017 07:44

You can eat fish (minus shark and swordfish and any others high in mercury) and seafood. So don't worry. I think sushi is out too.
Seafood is definitely fine though. The only reason some advise against it is you're more likely to get food poisoning from it if it's not cooked properly. But the same can be said for chicken and soft boiled eggs.

glitterglitters · 20/04/2017 07:48

Rate fillet steak, large glass of wine, pate on toast, people not treating me like I'm sick. 👌🏼

glitterglitters · 20/04/2017 07:49

*Rare even.

I might go on the hunt for some swordfish too. I love swordfish 😜😛

throughgrittedteeth · 20/04/2017 07:54

Oh god glitters I'm with you on people treating you like you're sick!
It's from a very caring place I know, but it cracked me up at work when I was sorting it some bits in readiness to hand over to my mat cover and had a big clear out. I took some rubbish out to the bins and moved some files around etc and people were getting all flappy about it. It really was them being kind, I know, but when I explained that my DS and even a basket of washing weigh more than a few box files they back off a little bit Grin

glitterglitters · 20/04/2017 08:03

@throughgrittedteeth damn straight. Plus the whole 👀 "should you be doing that/eating that/dont swear as the baby will feel/heat your negativity." Awww piss off. 👋🏼😂

toomuchtimereadingthreads2016 · 20/04/2017 09:11

I am looking forward to not being woken up through the night with my throat on fire with heart burn and waking up with a paste of rennies in my mouth! Eating anything citrus-y without feeling like I'm burning a hole in my stomach! I am looking forward to my DD1 being able to sit on my actual knee again instead of a kind of side sit squashed next to me! A bit of a soppier one, but since before we were TTC I have had this mental image of me walking DD1 to nursery (100 steps from our front door) with DD2 in a baby sling and stopping to look at things with DD1, and chat with other mums instead of running and flinging her in the door and dashing off to work like now!

robinsongyal · 20/04/2017 09:31

A gin&tonic outside in the sunshine!
Fish sushi
Not needing a wee at least 5 times in the middle of the night!! Wink

Somerville · 20/04/2017 09:35

Eating all the sashimi. Wine. And DH's vasectomy.

Lemondrop09 · 20/04/2017 09:56

Here you go MummyPenguin, enjoy your sandwiches!

"Shellfish in pregnancy

Always eat cooked, rather than raw, shellfish – including mussels, lobster, crab, prawns, scallops and clams – when you're pregnant, as they can contain harmful bacteria and viruses that can cause food poisoning. Cold pre-cooked prawns are fine."

throughgrittedteeth · 20/04/2017 09:59

I'd like to add that I'm looking forward to not being so emotional and trusting my emotions again. Although this is more wishful, as I know the mixture of breast feeding hormones and sleep deprivation are not a fun mix 😑

glitterglitters · 20/04/2017 10:57

Ooh and being able to take more types of painkillers. Ibuprofen for after pains was a total godsend.

Cagliostro · 20/04/2017 11:10

When we were home from hospital after having DC1 the first thing my mum did was bring round a big wedge of Brie and a pot of pate :o

This time I am looking forward to not needing a wee all the damn time, and not feeling sick - nausea is constant at the moment but am only first trimester so maybe it'll ease up soon. It's much worse than previous pregnancies although thankfully no actual puking

Cagliostro · 20/04/2017 11:11

Oh god afterpains!!! I had forgotten about them (youngest is nearly 8). I ended up using my tens machine with them last time!

Cagliostro · 20/04/2017 11:12

Actually what I am particularly looking forward to is breastfeeding again. Not the first few days when it hurts like hell but once it settles in. I miss that, I loved feeding DS so much
