@lydiangel83

I read online not to have too hot baths as it raises body temperature and can cause miscarriage. I've been having showers

TheLionQueen1 · 29/05/2017 20:17

Lydia, I've been having a bath every night to ease back pain. I have made it slightly cooler but not just warm, my body tells me if it's too hot, I feel nauseous. I really don't think baths are a problem!

TheLionQueen1 · 29/05/2017 20:18

MrsJ, I had one of those in Cyprus last week, it was so nice!! How was yours? Hope you're enjoying your holiday!

Bubbasmama2017 · 29/05/2017 20:57

@lydiaangel83 I've heard mixed information about baths and have just had very shallow ones so far and tried to make them quite quick which isn't very relaxing. Also not 100% sure on hot water bottles anyone got any ideas on them? Sometimes get what feels like period pain and a hot water bottle would be amazing

ew1990 · 29/05/2017 21:18

@Bubbasmama2017 I've heard you can use a hot water bottle but make sure it's got a cover on it or wrap it in a towel, I get the period type ache too xxx

FirsttimemumJan18 · 29/05/2017 21:26

Hi all...I've recently joined Mums Net and am currently 5 weeks and 3 days after several failed fertility cycles. I've had no symptoms at all and still can't quite believe I'm actually pregnant...I have an early viability scan on Wednesday and feeling excited and nervous too Smile

lydiangel83 · 29/05/2017 21:29

That's amazing @FirsttimemumJan18 congrats and welcome :)

FirsttimemumJan18 · 29/05/2017 21:31

Thank you x

ew1990 · 29/05/2017 21:31

@FirsttimemumJan18 welcome, I had no symptoms either apart from sore boobs and an ache as if I was about to come on, xx

lydiangel83 · 29/05/2017 21:37

Those that are / have been on hols have you worn swimming costume or bikini? I'm thinking my bikinis may still fit me and I haven't found any nice swimming costumes online - but is it a bit gross to let it all hang out?! I'm not sure of the etiquette lol! Any recommendations for pretty and preggo beachwear very welcome!!

TheLionQueen1 · 29/05/2017 22:04

I wore swimming costumes, just because I would normally, but I don't see anything wrong in embracing the bikini Grin I just bought a size up in swimming costumes as mine were quite tight!

Bubbasmama2017 · 29/05/2017 22:13

I think I just look fat atm so would probably go with full swimming costume or tankini but don't think there is anything wrong with a pregnant lady in a bikini!

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 29/05/2017 22:15

@lydiangel83 I'm going to Croatia in just over 3 months will be 6 months gone and I'll be wearing a bikini still :) will be covering up a lot more as I don't want sunburn on the bump or anything :) but personally I don't like swimming costumes but it's each to their own :)

Any tips for morning sickness? Mine comes and goes throughout the day and it's awful! Could be sick one minute and then just feel sick the next :( it's making me mardy lol

QuestionARhino · 29/05/2017 22:21

Ah congratulations @FirsttimemumJan18 how lovely!!

@Victoriaaaaaaaa it depends what helps you really 😕 crackers and ginger ale were no good for me but help a lot of people. My friend found that she needed to never have an empty stomach and found stodgy food the best for her. I liked sour foods a lot until 15 weeks.the thing that helped me most was preggie pop drops. They're just a sour American sweet for morning sickness but unlike a lot of sour sweets, these are sour all the way to the middle. Weirdly they helped me burp a lot which I often needed Blush I got them from Amazon and that's what I swore by but it's probably different for everyone I would imagine x

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 29/05/2017 22:26

@QuestionARhino I need no help burping lol! That was one of the main reasons I did a test - i never burp but was burping like 40 times a day! Luckily it's only 3/4 times a day now. The worse thing is now i keep getting bad wind and sometimes get really bad stomach cramps and then when it's out it feels so much better lol. I'll have a look at those sweets thanks :)

TheLionQueen1 · 29/05/2017 22:36

I highly recommend wearing sea bands, for me no food helped but what did help was trying to never be hungry as that made it a lot worse!

Jessiecat27 · 30/05/2017 00:30

Is anyone else struggling with not being able to sleep? It's fine of a weekend but during the week when I have work it's stressing me out! Feel like I can't function in work if I haven't slept!

JellyBean89 · 30/05/2017 00:51

@Bubbasmama2017 I heard that you shouldn't use hot water bottles as they can overheat your body or something, I am biased though as I did suffer from 2nd degree burns from them a few years ago so I've been put off ever since.
@FirsttimemumJan18 congratulations!! I hope your scan goes well xx

Having bad cramps today on and off, I get worried but then remember everything I read and heard about cramps being normal especially in the first few weeks.

lydiangel83 · 30/05/2017 04:34

@Jessiecat27 I am struggling to sleep also stressing me out as work is horrible at the moment :(

Bubbasmama2017 · 30/05/2017 06:52

Struggled to sleep big time last night got a scan book privately today (15+3) and so worried about what they will say. Got the midwife straight after so will tell her I'm worried about everything can't have scans all the time they're too expensive

Tinyti83 · 30/05/2017 08:11

@Jessiecat27 @lydiangel83 I am with you on the not sleeping ladies, nothing in particular keeping me awake but simply can't get a full rest full sleep, away from home this week at a course for my work however as I'm the only one doing my job I'm going to have to work each evening in the hotel to keep on top of things.... love my job but it's a lot of pressure, especially with all pregnancy worries floating around my head. Couldn't put it off either as I'm only 10+3 so haven't told work as yet, not until the 12 week scan. There's a pool at my hotel so I'm going to try a few lengths later and hope that helps to settle me in to a nights slumber! 😬😴 I hope your all well, apart from the lack of sleep! 🤰🏻❤️

QuestionARhino · 30/05/2017 09:00

Yeah I was like that, I used to say it was ridiculous because I was more tired but sleeping less. I do feel like I grew out of it eventually though! At least until I get really big I guess! Tried to nap yesterday and baby was kicking one side of my belly and punching the other so that was nice HmmGrin had to delay the nap til I was no longer a punchbag!

lydiangel83 · 30/05/2017 09:02

How many weeks are you @QuestionARhino ? I'm nearly 18 wks so even more bothered about it as I thought that this would be optimum sleeping time before I get even bigger :-/

Bubbasmama2017 · 30/05/2017 09:26

when did you start feeling the baby move? @QuestionARhino
