Has anyone else looked at prams yet? Too much info to handle - just went to John Lewis and no idea what to get other than steady DH for likely cost of c.£800!!

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 28/05/2017 15:51

@lydiangel83 I've been looking at the icandy ones 😍

lydiangel83 · 28/05/2017 16:24

@Victoriaaaaaaaa it's all so complicated!

ew1990 · 28/05/2017 16:36

Been to Glasgow for weekend to see kiss (my first ever concert) and my other half proposed to me!! Totally unexpected, over the moon 😊 xx

Regarding the prams we bought a redkite one, travel system that comes with car seat part too xxx

MSH2010 · 28/05/2017 16:38

Awww congrats Ew!!

QuestionARhino · 28/05/2017 16:50

@lydiangel83 we went for a bugaboo donkey, went second hand so we could afford it but it's in immaculate condition so I'm pretty chuffed we only have one babe on the way but I was sold by the 2nd basket and the multi terrain wheels

@ew1990 congratulations! That's wonderful news!

ValentineFizz · 28/05/2017 16:53

Awwww congratulations @Ew1990 - Scotland is such a romantic city! 💜

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 28/05/2017 16:58

Congratulations ew!!!!
So happy for you xxx

ValentineFizz · 28/05/2017 17:51

Eh I meant country not city - baby brain!! Shock

JellyBean89 · 28/05/2017 19:09

Congratulations @Ew1990 that's so exciting!

tinywithtoes · 28/05/2017 20:04

I have a stokke Explory again 2nd hand but everything can be washed !

ew1990 · 28/05/2017 20:17

Thanks everyone 😊 our pram ls 2nd hand but in immaculate condition, it's at my mums till I get near the end but she's took all the material off and washed it xx

TheLionQueen1 · 28/05/2017 20:30

Congratulations Ew, lovely news! And how was the gig?! Jealous!!

The prams are so bloody overwhelming! My mum has kindly offered to buy ours but I just don't know where to start! I like the Mothercare Orb!

MSH2010 · 28/05/2017 20:44

I've bought 2nd hand too. My mum washed it all this week and is keeping it at hers for me for the time being. I got an ABC zoom as I was being super picky for my twins

TheLionQueen1 · 28/05/2017 20:57

My only concern with second hand was did it include the car seat? I don't want a second hand car seat but am wondering whether to buy that new and buggy second hand!

ew1990 · 28/05/2017 21:05

@TheLionQueen1 it was amazing, I kept looking at the stage like there's Paul Stanley and gene Simmons! It was bizzare, and Paul did his thing where he flys to a stage in the crowd and was right in front of us, xxx

Brens13 · 28/05/2017 21:18

Late to the party but congratulations ew how exciting! Something else to celebrate and look forward to now SmileFlowers

QuestionARhino · 28/05/2017 21:57

@TheLionQueen1 ours didn't include the car seat, I found quite a few listings did and it seemed pointless to me if I was just going to chuck it. Some people do buy second hand if they think it's safe to do so, our friends did and have no issues and they're sensible. But they live in a far nicer area than we do so probably weren't so skeptical! We will buy a new car seat (probably nearer the time as I don't want to waste any warranty time while it's sat unused - don't know how long warranty is mind you) and we can get car seat adapters for £20 second hand to fit the car seat onto the chassis. I also think bugaboos hold their value well so if we want to sell we shouldn't lose too much BUT they're also well known for being long lasting so if we save it for future babies it should last.

I'd recommend going to mamas and papas or John Lewis etc and test driving some, then have a look at second hand ones (ours was gumtree). M&P also have a preloved page that lists some second hand sets of various quality - from as new to more used - so could be worth a check Smile and make sure it fits your boot too! If it's something you're gonna use daily, which for most people it probably is, then don't rush it. I'll use mine a lot for walking the dog off roads so it had to be up for that!

Bubbasmama2017 · 29/05/2017 05:57

Congratulations @ew1990 !

I haven't bought any baby stuff yet Blush I'm 15 weeks now so might start at 20 weeks. Partly due to money but also my sister has some older stuff we can use. The pram/car seat we'll buy new.

Got another private scan booked tomorrow afternoon as I can't stop worrying the baby is gone. Sad no pain or symptoms but just my mind going overdrive

lydiangel83 · 29/05/2017 08:13

Congratulations @ew1990 !

@Bubbasmama2017 I haven't bought a single baby item yet but. Wanted to start looking at prams - so complicated!

Woke up this morning and feel bump has got noticeably bigger :) at 17+5

Went bra shopping yesterday and bought 2 maternity bras, the fitting lady was helpful and wouldn't let me walk out the shop in my old bra as she said the underwire was damaging me :-/

QuestionARhino · 29/05/2017 08:51

@Bubbasmama2017 I've only bought the pram and a rocker Smile plenty of time yet I don't feel in any huge rush! We've got a collection of clothes building too. We picked up lots of vests and onesies in charity shops that we don't mind being subjected to poop/vomit explosions Grin other than that we haven't really got anything yet!

I'm 25 weeks and just got a video last night of my belly moving when the baby kicks ShockGrin

lydiangel83 · 29/05/2017 09:08

@QuestionARhino I reckon pram is the main purchase so that's good!

QuestionARhino · 29/05/2017 11:13

@lydiangel83 yeah I mean I'm probably going to get to 36 weeks and panic buy because I dragged my feet too much but that's just me all over Grin I'm too indecisive at the moment which is really unlike me! We're gonna pop to an NCT nearly new market in a week or so and see what we can find - has anyone ever been to one?

Victoriaaaaaaaa · 29/05/2017 11:17

All I can think about eating is cheesy chips from the chippy!

mrsjkerry · 29/05/2017 11:46

I love this! But would probably have to be a girl in there 😏 what does everyone think about baby facing outwards? I think I'd be more comfortable with it facing me.
