@mrsjkerry I think post-12 weeks will be worse as a bump gets bigger! But hubby is scared I think despite me explaining that it will probably be some time post-baby before we get back to it, so now is his window of opportunity lol

irishasia · 18/04/2017 11:44

Hi All! After 2 weeks of waiting ( IVF embryo transfer) ... my pregnancy test is positive. I had repeated it 3x with Clear blue and first response just to be sure... My first scan is going to be on the 9th of May. I cannot wait till that day. I had a 2 embryo transfer and I really want to know if I'm having twins.

MSH2010 · 18/04/2017 12:20

Congratulations irishasia!! Fingers crossed for 9th may for you

Ladies I don't know how your coping not.... my sex drive went through the roof whilst I was between 8 and 12 weeks..... even my husband was moaning!!
Glad to say it's settled now at 15wks but now it's not as comfortable as it was no matter which way.
Go enjoy yourselves!!! Make the most of it I say!!

lydiangel83 · 18/04/2017 12:53

Congrats @irishasia :-)

ew1990 · 18/04/2017 14:36

Girls had to text my midwife today as still not heard anything and the scan people think I'm 6 weeks from my scan, I said well I must have a genius baby if it can kick its legs at 6 weeks, so she's had to battle to get it sooner they wanted me to have it when I was 14 weeks, coz they thought I'd be ten instead of 14, she's managed to get it for when I'm 12+6 xx

sophr2017 · 18/04/2017 16:03

What a pain Ew, good thing you chased it! I've got a MW app on Thursday and hoping that's where I get to hear baby's heartbeat for the first time as I'd totally thought they would do that at 12 week scan and don't!

ew1990 · 18/04/2017 16:11

No mine won't do it till 16 weeks, these next two week are gunna drag xx

mrsjkerry · 18/04/2017 17:07

I have my 12 week scan next week. Any ideas on how I can get the whole day off work rather than just a few hours!? 😄

Can you call in sick? Or book as annual leave?x

MrsB12345 · 18/04/2017 17:51

Ladies I've just got my sex drive back last week at around 10 weeks. Would do it every night if my hubby could keep up. We have had some v light spotting after sex too but to be honest it's a couple of wipes and it's gone and reading up on it, it's completely normal as there is so much blood rushing to the area and little capillaries inside you can burst so it causes some bleeding xx

mrsjkerry · 18/04/2017 17:59

@MrsB12345 no I'm a teacher so you can't just book days off. I'm thinking of going in for period one and then just saying the appointment is a long one and I won't make it back for the start of period five. It's a long shot but if they don't ask for any proof it'll work 😄 we want to go and tell my granny straight after!

ew1990 · 18/04/2017 19:36

I work from 7am to 7:30 pm and mine is at 8:50am so no way I'll get the full shift off, I've asked for the morning and I'll do the late xx

tmc14 · 18/04/2017 19:40

Evening ladies. Waiting to get my 12 week scan appointment but will be week of 8 May. Exciting!
This evening I'm mortified. DP very gingerly told me my breath has been bad sometimes since falling pregnant. He almost didn't say but thought I'd want to know. Which is true. But oh no! I feel horrid. I think it's because of dehydration (I drink a lot but it never seems to be enough) and he googled it & apparently it's fairly common. Going to start carrying mints with me 😬

Squigglefish · 18/04/2017 20:03

Wow just catching up. This has moved so fast!
I had a full symptom ordeal this morning. I'd stopped in a shop on my way into work to buy some shop for lunch, I felt fine. I came out of the shop and headed up to work. when I caught the smell of onions from Subway.... Immediately the heaving came. I was trying to walk like nothing was happening because there was this man walking really close to me and taking his time to pass me - cue the rage. The closer he got, the more angry I became and the worse the heaving was until I had to stop and heave alone! Eyes streaming, nose running I wandered into my office looking dreadful. The day started so well! 11w and 2 days lol

sophr2017 · 18/04/2017 20:39

Oh squiggle that does not sound fun, hope you're feeling a bit fresher now?
I was lucky my 12 week scan was at 4pm so, although I was distracted during the day, I didn't have to go back to work and went straight to see my nan to tell her!

It's worth a try surely MrsJ?! hoping you report to head master rather than head mistress as well so he might be a bit more clueless about the situation and times as a man 😂

lydiangel83 · 18/04/2017 20:40

Is anyone doing any running / spinning / cardio? Midwife was totally against it but I was reasonable level of fitness before BFP And trying to maintain some element of fitness whilst shovelling in all the biscuits cake chocolate and crisps 23 hrs a day!!

I've read online it's fine to maintain some level of cardio but of course don't want to risk anything

lydiangel83 · 18/04/2017 20:41

@Squigglefish I hope you feel better soon.

I'm so moody even with strangers at the moment!!

Squigglefish · 18/04/2017 20:52

Awww I'm fine now, thank you. It was more embarrassing than anything. That poor man too! Got to laugh at these thongs or I think we would genuinely cry - haha.

I'm constantly thinking I should be exercising more but to be honest, I don't have the energy. I'm walking a lot but that's it for now. The guilt is real Blush

mrsjkerry · 18/04/2017 21:07

What @lydiangel83 !!! When I went to see my
Doctor she said it's absolutely fine to carry on doing whatever you've done previously. I went running every morning and am still seeing my PT twice a week for HIIT!! Didn't bother mentioning it to the midwife as everything I've read says exercise is good!?

OP posts:
MrsB12345 · 18/04/2017 22:01

@lydiangel83 I still play golf a short to the driving range twice a week. I've been told it's fine and plenty of women carry it on well int pregnancy. My golf tutor is also confident it's not harming me although we do take it slightly easier than before but not hugely x

sophr2017 · 18/04/2017 22:13

I have two friends who are personal trainers and both have had babies over the past 2 years and carried on working until they dropped, one was still taking part in crossfit and weight lifting comps so I think exercise is encouraged, and it's just about knowing your body and when/if it's too much.

However that is very easy for me to say but I am a sloth and just do a bit of walking and swimming and my only 'weight lifting' exercise is another chocolate bar to my mouth 😂😂

MSH2010 · 18/04/2017 22:15

My midwife says I can still ride my horses. My doctor says I shouldn't.

Moo31 · 19/04/2017 07:51

Hi ladies

Congrats @irishasia that's great news! Fx for twins! Every day feels like a week doesn't it!

@Squiggle glad you're feeling better

Re dtd we haven't and we haven't even talked about it! Neither have particularly high sex drives so not too bothered - still recovering from the 6 months of ttc dtd marathons haha! Although I have had some very weird sex dreams recently!

My 12 week scan is next wed at 10.45am and the same as some of you I'm trying to figure it out. I can't take a half day as I would need to be into work for 12.30 which I won't be (as the letter said it will last 2 hours). So I'm thinking of taking the day off but then I feel why should I waste a day of annual leave when we are entitled to paid time off for antenatal apps? ... I have had some ent issues in the past and my last app they were running behind so I ended up at the hospital for nearly 3 hours. I might tell a white lie that it's another ent app leave work at 10 and maybe be back for lunch time (which is similar to what happened for ent the last time). I can't wait to tell work so it's all out in the open!

We visited in laws over the weekend and mil kept bringing up that she wants to buy us this and that and when will we pick these things so she can buy them. I haven't started to think of anything like that yet until the 12 week scan and wanted to shout at her to stop talking about it incase she jinxes anything! I know she's excited but I just wanted to shush her!

I was so so sick yesterday - couldn't keep anything down. Didn't feel like MS though as I had terrible stomach cramps - I'm thinking food poisoning from a dodgy Indian on Monday night. I'm taking today off work so hopefully today is a better day!

Moo31 · 19/04/2017 07:52

Also can't help re exercise as I'm very lazy. I do aqua aerobics once a week and also a bit of walking and have kept those up.

mrsjkerry · 19/04/2017 07:59

Ooh that's interesting moo. My hospital is an hour away from work, if the appnt last 2 hours + travel time I can't deffo not come back I think!!
