I'm officially tired, fat and ready to pop. Anyone else want to check in together for the final count down? Shock

peanut2017 · 17/04/2017 23:33

In a ward with 3 others and one is the loudest snorer possible Shocklike epic feckin proportions! Have ear plugs thank god!

IAmALionTamer · 18/04/2017 06:08

Oh peanut I hope that you were able to get some rest or failing that have a baby!!

Theknittinggorilla · 18/04/2017 06:59

Ah peanut hope you got some sleep, maybe baby today for you if not already!

Good luck HL. I'm currently having my breakfast before starting the c section fast, also on the afternoon slot, eek. Didn't sleep very much last night, don't know about you, ready now though. Planning to get my four and two year olds to nursery then maybe have a bath before going in. Feels very bizarre and very unlike my two previous and much less civilised births!

TopKittyKat · 18/04/2017 07:55

Good luck today HL and Gorilla

Peanut - I hope you managed to get some sleep.

Baker - I hope the tests go well today.

Mamite - any progress overnight?

marmitecheesetoast · 18/04/2017 08:10

Oh god how annoying peanut good job you had your ear plugs! Hope you managed to get a decent sleep/have gone into labour by now!

Good luck to HL and Gorilla too today!

No progress at all overnight KittyKat Sad I was sadly excited to check for more on my gazillion trips for a wee overnight Blush but nothing more and no sign of anything else. Although I did have a dream I was in labour at one point!

DH has just gone off to work. Have run out of plans now Sad thought I'd have a baby by this week! 40+4 today. Also think I overdid it on my mammoth walk yesterday as seem to have hurt my foot Confused

How's anyone else doing today?

crumblequeen · 18/04/2017 08:18

Nothing here-was so uncomfortable last night with loads of low movement and pressure but woke up as normal this morning, now need to occupy my boys somehow. OH mightily annoyed he has to go back to work today Grin

Good luck for the sections, exciting! Hope there is baby news today

marmitecheesetoast · 18/04/2017 08:23

Ha crumble our OHs the same about work today then! Mine has just found out he has an interview on a Thursday... maybe that'll tempt baby out?! Grin

mycatloveslego · 18/04/2017 08:25

Morning ladies! Good luck to the c sections today- hope all goes well.
Some exciting news here- delivered a healthy baby boy at 8.05pm last night, weighing 8lb 13oz!
Very speedy delivery- only 90 minutes of active labour so no time for pain relief which was definitely not the plan!
Hoping to hear some baby news from you all soon. Xx

HLBug · 18/04/2017 08:28

Aww congratulations mycat - hope you're all doing well!

TopKittyKat · 18/04/2017 08:34

Congratulations mycat - that's fantastic news. I hope your first night with your little one went well and you are recovering ok.

crumble, marmite - this is what should have been the second week of paternity leave for DH if I delivered on or before my due date, so my DH is also feeling incredibly cheated.

throughgrittedteeth · 18/04/2017 08:34

Morning all, thought I'd join in if that's ok Smile 38 weeks tomorrow and officially had enough.

Today is my first official day of mat leave, though I've had two weeks annual leave for Easter hols. DS went to his dads last night and won't be back until tomorrow evening.
Feel a bit lost now! I'm going to celebrate my first day "off" with an egg and bacon roll. Which I will of course swear about in an hour when the heartburn kicks in! Grin

throughgrittedteeth · 18/04/2017 08:36

Also I've tried to tempt fate by booking stuff in advance and going to places a bit too far away from home, just to see if it'll kick in!

IAmALionTamer · 18/04/2017 08:39

Flowers mycat huge congratulations!! Well done on coping with such a swift labour with no pain relief!
I am 38+3 today, feeling fed up but well prepared to go overdue as DS was 6 days late. Have been sitting on my ball in the evenings and have experienced mild cramping afterwards but nothing further. It feels like baby is taunting me!

throughgrittedteeth · 18/04/2017 08:45

Congratulations! FlowersCake

marmitecheesetoast · 18/04/2017 08:56

Wow congratulations mycat! Hope you're all doing well and enjoying the newborn cuddles! Hopefully this is the start of a run of baby arrivals for the thread!!

HLBug · 18/04/2017 08:57

Just sent DS (age 2.11) off to nursery - absolutely distraught to learn that mummy will not be going to hospital in either an ambulance or a search & rescue helicopter Confused Daddy's car is, apparently, 'poo poo pants' in comparison and no, he won't be coming to visit me later. Sigh. Off to do one final check of bags...!

GastonsWife · 18/04/2017 09:52

Congratulations Mycat our first baby on the thread!
I'm struggling a bit today :-(. I'm a teacher and a bit of a workaholic and I can't stand that someone else is teaching my "babies" this morning 😬 I feel like I haven't had my baby yet so why can't I be with my big babies! Instead I'm going for a walk with my OH's grandparents 😳 All my friends and family are teachers so all back at work today. I guess I'm just feeling a bit lonely

DirtyDancing · 18/04/2017 10:01

Congrats MyCat the first baby! Wow such a quick delivery. Enjoy your cuddles and all the best xxxx

Good luck to HL and Gorilla today!
HL lol to your little one. A helicopter entrance at hospital would definitely be a god labour story though!!

Marmite here's hoping something more happens soon for you.. it's a start!!

So only thing here is (sorry if TMI) I've got Diarrhea today. Did not have anything spicy last night and google says can be a very early sign of labour.. never been so pleased to have a bad tummy!!! Grin

crumblequeen · 18/04/2017 10:19

Yay congratulations mycat my second delivery was super quick too so I'm anxious about getting to hospital as soon as things start happening. I finished work at 36 weeks convinced this baby would be early Hmm

peanut2017 · 18/04/2017 10:20

Congrats mycat delighted for you!

Nothing happened through the night & no sleep. Consultant did a check with the hook to see if any water remaining but there wasn't. Not very pleasant

Midwife is lovely & started induction at 9.20. Sitting on the ball and she got me the mat & bean bag!

This is so real now! Omg! Hope you are all ok

marmitecheesetoast · 18/04/2017 11:10

Glad you've got a good midwife peanut just think you'll be holding your baby soon!!

I feel the same Gaston it's hard when everyone else is at work trying to keep busy. Do you have any friends from NCT/antenatal classes you can see if fancy meeting up with if they are also on mat leave?

Haha thanks dirtydancing and yay for diahhrea! Grin have definitely heard that can be a sign of early labour, something to do with the prostaglandin building up?

Just been for a walk in the sunshine and feeling quite uplifted now. Just having a bounce on my ball and another RLT!

GastonsWife · 18/04/2017 11:52

It's going to happen soon marmite I can feel it! I'm all out of raspberry leaf tea and local shops don't sell it! Will have to try and get some in the week Brew

marmitecheesetoast · 18/04/2017 12:20

Gaston Amazon Prime?!

GastonsWife · 18/04/2017 13:35

Good luck ladies who are having their babies this afternoon! Please update us afterwards if at all possible!
Marmite didn't think of that! Now hacking into OH's prime account!

marmitecheesetoast · 18/04/2017 14:35

Haha good work Gaston! That's where I got my unnecessarily large stock from.

I've just been out for second walk of the day and have just lost a bigger blob of mucus plug! Can't believe I'm getting excited about mucus on toilet paper... BlushGrinBlush
