I'm officially tired, fat and ready to pop. Anyone else want to check in together for the final count down? Shock

Ohhh good luck peanut and gorilla. We have some babies on the way! I'm really jealous pleased for you. I hope you have straightforward births.
Good luck! I'll look forward to hearing news of the arrivals.

Thanks mycat - did you get induced in the end anyway? That's what we need to decide if we go that long and just see or wait a few hours and then let them induce me if nothing is happening naturally? Thoughts of bern here for 24 hours and nothing happening. Would prefer to be at home! I'm wrecked already ha ha which isn't great as the work hasn't started yet!

Peanut, yes I did end up being induced for 'failure to progress', such depressing terminology! TBH, after 18 hours of early labour I was pretty keen to get things moving, so although all my plans for a natural birth went out the window it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be having all that intervention.

Good luck peanut!

Looks like its breakfast not baby for me today but means still hope of a nice calm section tomorrow. And some food!

Good luck ladies!! Hopefully lots of baby news in the next few hours!

I'm going into the city today and having the fire cracker at Wagamamas! I'm hoping the combination of tempting fate by travelling far away and eating ridiculously hot food will do something :-p

Thanks mycat think will get the next antibiotics at 2.30 and decide then do we wait another 4 hours as still have no contractions. Won't let us go home either

marmitecheesetoast · 17/04/2017 14:05

Eeek good luck peanut got everything crossed for you that contractions start soon. Are you able to be a bit mobile to see if that helps things going even with the antibiotics drip? Did you have any other signs before your waters went?

Thinking of you too gorilla

My back ache continued to be quite bad through the night, woke up quite a bit, but was gone this morning. Felt a bit teary when I woke up. Just been for really long walk this morning (with one pit stop for brunch and another for decaf coffee and a brownie! Grin) so have managed 11,000 steps on my Fitbit already! Don't know if that will encourage anything... but I'm absolutely knackered now, might have a nap.

Haha I like your plan gaston. Love Wagamamas. We have left over spicy curry again for tea tonight that DH made yesterday.

Induction policy at my trust is automatically 40+10 but they are flexible. Midwife insisted on booking me in for induction at my 40 week appointment but have managed to get them to agree to 40+12 as really want to avoid an induction if I can help it and have had very straightforward pregnancy. I may even be tempted to see if I can push it back again to 42 weeks but we'll see. Really want things to start naturally and hopefully have a water birth.

40+3 today. Going to try and chill out for the rest of the day.

Hey just sitting on the ball now. In with 2 other women. Did go for a small walk they said not to leave the grounds but we did but not much to see around here!

Just gave me the next batch of antibiotics so can move again when it goes through after 20 minutes

Have any of you got induced before? Just had it in my head that I don't want to be from what I've read or heard what it's meant to be like!!

Report
DirtyDancing · 17/04/2017 15:11

Peanut I was with my first. It wasn't terrible at all, but I wanted to avoid it this time as I would prefer a bit more freedom and possibly water birth. I just found it hard being continually monitored which meant I couldn't move. I ended up with an epidural because I was in labour which wasn't progressing for 3 days and was so so tired. But it was fine overall, 12 hours from start to end.

I was induced with DS peanut - it went really quickly for me as my body was definitely ready for labour - so don't automatically think it'll be a long drawn out process. I had pessary about 3.30pm, started having period pains about 8/9pm, more regular contractions overnight, waters burst and DS was born just after 4.30am. So about 12 hours from pessary being inserted.

Given your waters have already broken hopefully your body will be ready to get things moving and the pessary will be all you need. Wishing you all the best and happy to answer any questions as this afternoon / evening progresses.

One thing I would say is to ask for pain relief early if you think you need it! Because things went so fast for me I couldn't get an epidural, boo. So ask as soon as you have the slightest inclination!!

Gorilla I thought you were sneaking ahead of me there!! I'm also booked in for planned section tomorrow- I'm first in the afternoon slot apparently, so as long as there aren't any emergencies this time tomorrow I should be holding my baby, eek...!!!!!

Report
mycatloveslego · 17/04/2017 15:48

After my waters went I think early labour started for me about 6 hours after, so hopefully things will start to move for you soon Peanut!
I think I might be in early labour- since around 1pm I've been getting regular painful tightening s and have had a show. Fingers crossed things will keep going!
Good luck for tomorrow Gorilla, and I hope your firecracker does the trick Gaston, I had it once and remember it being super spicy!

In other news I think some of my mucus plug has started to come out this evening... Although can mean nothing I know as it regenerates Hmm just sort of small snot-like lumps?! Just small though, not big blobs? Sorry for tmi!

Hope you manage to get some sleep peanut - are you in a ward with many others? It all started for me after DH left about 10pm - I've warned him tonight that I managed giving birth to the first baby without him so if he does or says anything to piss me off tomorrow he'll be sent straight home once again!

I've set my alarm for 6am tomorrow so I can sneak in a bit of toast before heading in. I've been told to fast from 5am but the anaesthetist told me on Friday to have a little something early on to keep me going. DH has made himself a packed lunch to keep him going - the cheek!

Not sure if I'll be able to sleep tonight or not...kinda feels like the night before an exam / going on holiday. Bags are packed now just need to get going!

Well i seem to live at the hospital this last week, had to keep going up for monitoring as baby not moving as much. The swelling is really bad now and when i was at the hospital two days ago as i was losing feeling in my legs they were so badly swollen they said my blood pressure was really high! After being there 3 hours it went down to borderline normal/high.

Im puffing and panting constantly as everything is so painful and exhausting i feel like an old woman!!!

Back up at the hospital tomorrow for monitoring and a scan to see what my fluid levels are. Booked in for a c section on the 26th. Im really hoping they dont leave me that long. Im 38 weeks now.

Hope you manage to get some sleep tonight HL, exciting!
