That's great you have a date, Raffles - woohoo! Hope you ladies are managing to get some rest. It's such a slog the last month.

We're muddling along, sleep deprivation is settling in a bit and I feel sore and run down but trying to enjoy family time before OH goesback to work.

Bear, poor you! Hope you're feeling better soon. Do you get a lot of aftercare with a section?

I was tested for cholestasis last week, which I don't have, but it showed up that I'm very anaemic. I've been sleeping better since they've had me on iron so hopefully will be able to muster the energy to push.

MrsCrab I'm wracking my brains for things to do/plan, but if you're anything like me it's hard because you're so knackered/uncomfortable. I've had lunch out a couple of times by myself with a book, which has been nice, and certainly won't be doing it for a while now!

Hope everyone else is doing well and babies are keeping you busy but happy.

mistletoeprickles · 21/08/2017 23:36

Just checking in to see if we have anymore babies. Not long now ladies xxxx

bear it's been the same in my household. I actually sobbed this morning when DP left for work. I've had him home for nearly a month so it was massively daunting. I survived the day, even managed to tidy up and sort dinner, then promptly lay on the sofa and went to sleep when he got home. It tough because he needs to of had a good night's sleep for the job he does, he could make a fatal mistake if he's tired. He's going to bed earlier then starting his day a few hours earlier to take over from me. Although it took him 4 attempts to get me back up this morning!

How's your section recovery going?

I'm doing really good and have been signed off to drive providing I don't do any lengthy distance. Luckily we have a lot within about 3 miles so I wouldn't be going far if I do venture out.

Anyhow ds is settled so it's sleep time for me xxx

FraggleRock77 · 22/08/2017 10:40

Hello all! Still thinking of you MrsCrab and Raffles. Can't be much longer now! Looking forward to us all having babies on this thread. Isn't it funny how it all evolved in the end! I'm full on sleep deprived and struggling getting used to managing two. Having a nearly four year old makes a huge difference though. Section recovery all but complete and don't think about it now. Good luck xxxx

RafflesMaidenSister · 22/08/2017 10:41

That's fantastic Mistletoe - glad you are feeling better. Abdominal surgery must suck. What's the scar like? I have no experience of them apart from my Mum's very emergency scar from 35 years ago (me) - which is horrific, but understand they cut laterally rather than vertically now. Hope all the Mums are feeling OK, and sure you are all coping really well, even when it doesn't feel like it.

How're you going MrsCrab? I was at the assessment ward this morning at 3 am because he wasn't moving (or maybe was, but bump was too tight to feel it). Feel like a complete wally now because of course he started dancing on the monitor and has been booting me comprehensively ever since. Apparently he's not engaged and back to back (the whole process gets more and more appealing the more I hear ...) so I'm bouncing on a ball while I work in the vain hope it will move him/start labour. Fat chance! Grin

Hope you are quiet because you are in labour/enjoying time with your gorgeous new born.

Bear2014 · 22/08/2017 13:09

Glad you're doing well Mistletoe- and you survived a solo day! Well done you.

Raffles and Mrscrab hope you're still doing ok and not going too crazy.

My recovery is going ok, not as great as at first though. I developed a horrible chesty cough around day 4 and it's still bothering me. The coughing hurts my stomach and it's disrupting my already disrupted sleep too. I've got a big hard ridge of swelling/scar tissue over my scar, so not sure if that would have happened anyway or if it's from the extra aggravation. I don't remember having it with DD but i think second sections do tend to lead to more stuff like that as they cut your old scar. Who knows. I'm getting out and about though, and OH is with us all month.

Bear2014 · 22/08/2017 13:12

Fraggle how is your big DS coping? Our DD is very cute with her brother but man alive it's not exactly relaxing at our gaff at any point. Damn the nursery summer holidays!

OP posts:
FraggleRock77 · 22/08/2017 14:19

I hear you Bear! Older DS is utterly unbothered by new DS! Luckily our pre school runs all year round so yippee for holiday club!! Having two is such a bloody juggle!x

MrsCrabtree · 22/08/2017 17:25

Hola everyone. No news from my end I'm afraid! Fully expecting to go the two weeks over so just trying to schedule some more plans now. I've totally overdone it today walking round town after coffee meet up and the SPD is a killer but oh well, I will rest tomorrow. No signs of impending labour!

Raffles that naughty baby, they always perk up just in time to make you look mad don't they but of course you did absolutely the right thing getting checked out. Not long now til baby time for you, how are you feeling about it?

Glad your recoveries are going well mistletoe and Fraggle. You sound like you're coping really well, thats brilliant. Hope you're enjoying those baby cuddles!

Awful you have a cough Bear, coughs are a nightmare at the best of times but especially with a stomach scar Sad I feel for you. It must be so hard with your DD to look after too! Sending get well vibes xx

RafflesMaidenSister · 22/08/2017 18:31

Sounds painful MrsCrab! Hope you can rest tomorrow. What else do you have planned?

Had a bit of a non pregnancy emergency here today. My poor little dog is in the vets on a drip and they can't work out what's wrong with him - if he doesn't improve over night they'll do exploratory surgery. I feel so guilty - I've let him down. So haven't been thinking too much about induction! Hopefully we'll know where he is before we go in on Thurs.

Rotten having a cough with an abdo injury, Bear. You must be very sore!

Glad siblings are surviving the second child arriving. On the whole siblings are ace, though I remember not thinking that when my little sister was born! Must be strange managing that as a parent. Though I keep thinking how strange being a parent full stop will be, so one step at a time for me!

MrsCrabtree · 24/08/2017 07:47

Good luck today raffles! Really hope your dog is ok, don't feel guilty it's not your fault. Hope you can focus on baby now though, fingers crossed it all goes smoothly and can't wait to hear news xx

Bear2014 · 24/08/2017 08:31

Good luck today Raffles! Hope it all goes really smoothly.

RafflesMaidenSister · 24/08/2017 10:23

Thanks guys - dog is fine! Fingers crossed but still not engaged!
How're you all doing?

RafflesMaidenSister · 26/08/2017 15:28

This is Arthur. Born by emergency section 10.20 am today after 2 day induction: prostaglandin worked, waters broke beautifully and then oxytocin drip failed! Spent 15 hours on it before they gave up.

All worth it - I am completely in love.

MrsCrabtree · 26/08/2017 16:47

Oh wow, he is gorgeous!!! Congratulations raffles! Sorry you had a bit of an ordeal, but so glad you are both ok. Well done you. Amazing xxx

MrsCrabtree · 26/08/2017 17:56

Ps lovely name, it's on our list too Smile

RafflesMaidenSister · 26/08/2017 18:27

Yay - world needs more Arthurs! Was my grandad's name.

How're you going? Is the SPD any better?

FraggleRock77 · 26/08/2017 19:18

Amazing news. Well done to you. Love the baby grow. How much did he weigh?x

Bear2014 · 26/08/2017 19:29

Yay congratulations!! He is perfect, great name and also loving the babygro! Hope recovery goes ok and enjoy - you did it!! X

OP posts:
RafflesMaidenSister · 26/08/2017 19:43

Thanks all. After all that fuss and worry he was a puny 7lb 14! Think a lot may have been waters because when they broke them two midwives and dr got sprayed, and they continued to properly "gush" on and off for three hours and I was still losing them in good quantities about 15 hours later.

Loving getting to know him.

Hope all ok with everyone. X

Bear2014 · 27/08/2017 14:21

Wow Raffles, sounds like quite an event, having your waters broken! 😂 really glad you're all ok - hope your night went ok and you're feeling ok. Don't be a hero - get all the drugs!

OP posts:
RafflesMaidenSister · 27/08/2017 20:13

How're you doing MrsCrab? Xxx

MrsCrabtree · 28/08/2017 09:10

Urgh Im ok thanks, plodding on! Been getting prodromal contractions since Saturday night but they just come and go so I gather there could be days of this ahead, or something might happen sooner, hard to tell. Just trying to hold my nerve. Mw appt tomorrow evening.

More to the point, how are you getting on with lovely Arthur?! Are you recovering ok? When do you expect to be home? X

RafflesMaidenSister · 28/08/2017 12:26

Poor you MrsCrab - well done holding your nerve - must be really hard, but nearly there.

If it's any consolation I started to feel physically better from the time they broke my waters. I'm really sore now but still less uncomfortable than I was end of pregnancy.

We're getting on well - to my surprise we've taken to breast feeding and he's just lovely and snuggly. We're waiting to be discharged now.

How's everyone else doing?

RafflesMaidenSister · 29/08/2017 10:22

Good luck with midwife today MrsCrab. Let me know how you get on.
