I don't blame you! You're 24 weeks now though right, which is technically viable. 28 seems to be one 'magic' threshold and then 32 is another. Keep eating all the pies to get their strength up!

Amazing to see the kicks from the outside!

I'm 24 weeks in Friday. Next scan is at 26+3. Yes just going to eat loads and loads to try and get them as big as possible.
The new series of one born every min starts tonight! Will be watching that! xxx

Lolly so lovely T1 has shown itself - and lovely to hear all the positive outcomes for early babies. Still got everything crossed for you that you will get to 32 weeks!

Thanks for all the good wishes. Consultant stenographer was seriously good and explained lots of things I didn't understand before - including why we're doing all this. Extra scans are because of ICSI and higher risk combined test. I'm also in a clinic that tries to identify impending mental health problems because I've had cognitive behavioural therapy for anxiety in the past. Not too worried about the latter because I'm confident in the treatment I had before but they let you listen to the baby plus extra chance to keep an eye on everything so can't hurt.

Most importantly the stenographer couldn't see any major or minor markers for chromosomal abnormality so absent scary invasive tests can't get any more reassurance. TBH unless abnormality was so severe there would be only a short miserable life we wouldn't do anything now anyway. We've got scans at 28, 32 and 36 and consultant at 36 and 40.

I am so inspired by all the people on here being positive and staying calm in the most difficult and upsetting of situations. I can barely cope with a trapped nerve. I am genuinely in awe. Keep on keeping on everyone. Xxx

Lolly2803 · 04/04/2017 19:22

That's good you've got some more info Raffles and if you get to see more of baby Raffles then even better!! Hope you can relax a bit more now.

Yes I'm keeping everything crossable crossed! Going to speak to work tomorrow about finishing at the end of the month too!

RafflesMaidenSister · 04/04/2017 20:02

Good luck with work Lolly. Hope they'll be reasonable.

FraggleRock77 · 04/04/2017 23:10

Great news Raffles. Sounds like you're getting lots of support x

Bear2014 · 05/04/2017 06:22

Raffles great to be getting all the extra support definitely. Hope it's setting your mind at ease a bit. The docs and everyone sound great.

Lolly hope work are good to you! They would have to be pretty mean to not understand. Good luck.

I got a new delivery of clothes yesterday so looking forward to not dressing like a bag lady today Grin

Good Luck today Bear! Let us know how you get on xxxx

Blueroses99 · 06/04/2017 08:46

Raffles hope the extra monitoring helps with peace of mind.

Good luck with all the scans today. Mine is at 3pm and scanxiety is running high! It's with a consultant so I should get some good info.

RafflesMaidenSister · 06/04/2017 09:07

Happy scanning all. Xxx

Lolly2803 · 06/04/2017 09:12

Aw Blue didn't realise you were in today too. Good Luck to you and hope all is well and baby Blue holding on tight. Keep us updated. xxxxx

Blueroses99 · 06/04/2017 10:00

Thanks Lolly. Are you in too today? (Wave if you see me, I'm rocking blue and white polka dots!)

FraggleRock77 · 06/04/2017 10:06

Good luck Blue x

Bear2014 · 06/04/2017 10:07

Good luck Blue! I'm in waiting room now, not sure how they are running half an hour late already?! Oh well, i'm in no great rush to get to work Wink

Haha I know the feeling Bear. We are seeing the consultant at 12 today too.

Keep us posted! xxxx

Bear2014 · 06/04/2017 11:43

So much waiting around! There should be a public service announcement to all pregnant women to always carry a good book, drinks and snacks whenever going anywhere near the hospital...

All is good with baby bear, he's already over 1lb and measurements all look to be nearly off the scale, so if DD was 9.5lb I really wouldn't like to guess what he might be. No doubt about the gender, he was manspreading the whole time, showing us his lovely big balls Grin

Good luck for all other scans and checkups today!

Blueroses99 · 06/04/2017 11:47

Great news Bear! I will take you're advice on book, snacks etc - I've had to wait up to an hour and a half to see a consultant!

Bear2014 · 06/04/2017 11:53

1.5 hours seems to be average for consultant here. Good job work don't require us to make up the time. Good luck later!

Lolly2803 · 06/04/2017 12:06

Aw fantastic news Bear!!!! xxx

MrsCrabtree · 06/04/2017 13:26

Brilliant news Bear! Good luck lolly too.

Our 20 week scan was fine, thank god. The sonographer was a bit brusque but she does have a job to do! No good pics today as it had its arms over its face the entire time but doesn't matter. Didn't see any sex- clues either so that's good! Still feel anxious weirdly but I think it's just pent up and hopefully I will start to relax a little bit x

MrsCrabtree · 06/04/2017 13:32

Oh and good luck Blue too! Busy day!

Lolly2803 · 06/04/2017 14:10

Great news Mrs Crab!

My consultant apt went well. I actually feel much better after talking to him even though he didn't exactly say everything would be ok. He said he could see why we were worried but for now things are ok and they are growing. My blood pressure was a little high but no sugar or protein in the urine so that's all ok. He did tell me I need to stop work though so have to go to the GP tomorrow and get a note. He said at 24 weeks with twins your body is like 32 weeks with a singleton and with the potential placenta issues rest is strongly advised. So there we are.
Listened to two strong heartbeats though which was lovely.

Blue hope you're doing ok! xxxx

Bear2014 · 06/04/2017 14:33

That's really good Lolly! It will be really nice to stop work and focus on rest and keeping you all healthy xx

I'm just back from my consultant appointment. The cervix is now closed, which is great, but it has shortened to 8mm, which is really short. The best news is that the fetal fibronectin which indicates likelihood of going into premature labour has reduced from 155 to 58 (I should be 30-40 so heading in the right direction!). So I'm still in the danger zone overall but things aren't quite as bleak as they were looking last week. I just need to rest and hope baby stays put for a bit longer.

Blueroses99 · 06/04/2017 17:02

Great news MrsCrab, hope you can start to relax now.

Lolly sounds positive and the rest can only be good for you even if it's a bit earlier than you planned.
