Brug I was worried about twins as had more morning sickness this time. But early scan just showed 1 bean. So now I think it might be a boy as it feels different to last time!

ChristmasSeacow · 31/03/2017 17:27

Alexxx it was just a chat and urine/bp for me.

Welcome new people!

Can't flick back to see who asked but yes I was worried about twins. I have twin sisters. I felt bad being so against the idea (as I v much wanted another child - but really not two!). It's one of the main reasons I had a 7-week scan but happily there was just one and all looked okay.

Disastronaut · 31/03/2017 19:22

A new thread, so it's time to de-lurk.
I think I'm going to be the oldest on here...

I'm 44 (nooooo!)
13 weeks pg with DC2
Already have a 3 1/2 yo DD
At least 30 minutes from anywhere in Edmonton!

We've had many, many rounds of IVF, several miscarriages, and this is our very last try. Getting to this stage has been one of the most stressful (& miserable tbh) experiences of my life.

But all has looked well at scans, Harmony test came back good & I had my 1st appointment with the obstetrician today - so maybe we will start allowing ourselves to hope it might actually happen.

Looked at the scan screen for the first time today (too scared before) and saw such a wiggling creature. Can't believe it.

Teabagtits · 31/03/2017 19:38

Today I've spent in MAU. Had reduced movement (all ok) but they've discovered all manor of infections and anomalous growths in delicate places that weren't there before. Wasn't the most fun day I've had.

Grannyben · 31/03/2017 20:11

I'm 53 and a grandma of two so obviously this post isn't for me but i just wanted to say your posts have made me smile. I am so happy for you all and age is just a number

Teabagtits · 31/03/2017 23:38

And another thing... of those who've had their whooping cough etc jag how long did your arm hurt for. I got mine on Thursday and the pain is getting worse :(

ChristmasSeacow · 31/03/2017 23:51

Disastronaut welcome and fingers crossed that you get your happy ending. 13 weeks is pretty good, you've made it through the period of high-but-decreasing odds of miscarriage and now just have a low residual risk. It's impossible to really relax, I find, but it helped me to know that logically at that stage.

Teabag that sounds grim but all okay with baby? I haven't had my jab yet - is it after 28 weeks? I must get onto that.

Bloody heartburn AGAIN. I think I might have to start having my evening meal earlier instead of after 8.30pm with DH. That might help. Grrr.

Ekphrasis · 01/04/2017 08:12

teabag last prey I had it and no it didn't feel that bad - people do react differently though. You could phone 111 for advice?

I know my son reacted quite a lot to the mmr and his arm was huge for over a week. He was fine, it was just the reaction. Not fun though.

I need a reality check please! Really not had much in the way of symptoms bar bloating and some tiredness, but boobs were quite sore.

They're fine today! Argh worry go away. I do think I remember them being fine after a few weeks in first pregnancy but I do worry!

PingusMistress · 01/04/2017 08:23

Granny that's lovely, thanks for posting! Smile

I can't believe it is only a week since my private scan. Three weeks to wait until my 12 week one. This first trimester is going soooooo slowly!

Ekphrasis · 01/04/2017 08:30

I had my booking yesterday pingu! Scan seems waaay off! didn't google scans locally and found there was one for £50 five mins walk away no I really didn't.

Efferlunt · 01/04/2017 08:31

Hi nice to see so many on here! I'm 9 weeks and will turn 40 in a couple of months. Was planning a big do for it but now feel a bit funny doing that and being preggo - may wait till until next year.

Have 5 and 7 year old DSs I'm shattered and the five year old has been in our bed for a couple of hours rolling about and asking questions about animals. Good job he is very cute.

Blondes - how lovely and do please stick around!

PingusMistress · 01/04/2017 08:41

Ooh ekraphis, there is no way I'd be able to resist a cheap local scan like that! I'd be in every week!

Efferlunt I sympathise, I recently turned 40 and many school and uni friends have celebrations lined up this year, many of which I won't be able to (or won't feel like) join in properly due to pregnancy. A group of us are supposed to be doing the Crystal Maze experience in a few weeks. The website says not suitable for pregnant women. I'm so gutted!

Ekphrasis · 01/04/2017 08:42

Yes it's actually taunting me!

Gizmojo · 01/04/2017 09:32

Teabagtits I had my whooping cough jab on a Monday and it was fine on the day but then really hurt from the Tuesday to Thursday. Started to calm down on the Friday and could only feel it if I pressed on the area on Saturday. The nurse doing mine did say you could end up with a really dead/heavy feeling arm.

Blondeshavemorefun the tale was true for me too. I was like a fire breathing dragon from about week 12. You could see her hair on the scan according to the sonographer

She came out looking like Billy Joe Armstrong from Green Day. A really thick head of black hair. The midwife screamed "Bloody he'll look at all that hair!" I had yet to see it as on all fours 🙈People were coming from all over the ward to see the "hairy baby"

The heartburn stopped the instant she was born.

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 01/04/2017 10:04

Congratulations to all my fellow geriatrics 😆
I'm 42 and almost 8 weeks with baby number three.

Got a one year old and three year old. All being well I think it's safe to say I'm going to be absolutely run off my feet come November.

Bananalanacake · 01/04/2017 12:20

I can join today, I turned 40 yesterday and am 34 weeks with my 2nd, my DD is 2. I've had loads of scans as I'm in Germany, had one yesterday, the head is already down, didn't know this happened at 34 weeks.

Pixie106 · 01/04/2017 12:35

Hi.
I'm 42
4 weeks into 12th pregnancy but only 3 healthy boys. Last mc last month. Last chance saloon I feel! 🦋

Disastronaut · 01/04/2017 13:05

Christmas - thanks, we're gradually trying to calm down a bit!

GreedyDuck · 01/04/2017 15:37

I sympathise too *efferlunt'. I actually conceived dd on my 40th and it was my last big hoorah.

I've missed two brilliant parties so far with this pregnancy. Figure I'll be up for it again when the fiftieths roll around!

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/04/2017 03:16

Hello, congratulations and welcome to new preggy-gerries!

banana my son's head was engaged very early on too - but still went to 42 weeks!

Ekphrasis · 02/04/2017 07:34

Can I check - I didn't have any spotting with my son; I'm getting brown streaked mucus (yesterday and today).

No pain but been feeling tiny pinches in the area where I think I felt similar during implantation. No specific period like cramps or big pain. Normal or mention to mw? 8 wks tomorrow.

beepbeeprichie · 02/04/2017 09:04

Good morning!
40
38 weeks
Horrendous heartburn since about week 25....
And I am absolutely enormous. I'm breaking out of some of the maternity shirts I bought so I feel very cheated. Grin

Teabagtits · 02/04/2017 12:11

Hello newbies! Doesn't seem that long since I was the newbie here!

I've had a bad night. Had d&v last night and have been awake all night with awful cramps that are now less frequent but still occurring. Thankfully it's not my uterus cramping but disconcerting nonetheless as I still have to breathe through them. Booo
