So, here's the predicament..
My sister finally got her hands on some Ed sheeran tickets (which are like gold dust these days!), problem is the tickets are for standing and I'll be about 4-5 months pregnant at the time of the concert in June.
My other half isn't best pleased about the situation, understandably he's concerned for my safety, as am I. Seeing as the tickets have now sold out it's unlikely we'll be able to get hold of seated tickets instead.
I'm just wondering had anyone else been to a concert and standing half way through their pregnancy and if they were ok? I REALLY want to go to this concert, and don't want to miss out unless it's going to be too dangerous for me and baby.
Thanks in advance x

Went to a Frank Turner concert at 7 months pregnant in a student union. Not an ideal venue especially as it was a basement and overcrowded. Didn't stay right at the back but also didn't go to the front, biggest danger to me was overheating due to the venue and amount of bodies. Keep a bottle of water with you but I really wouldn't worry. It's Ed Sheeran.

My mum was at David Bowie concert at Murrayfield in the 80s when she was 8months pregnant with me! (A steward took pity and found her a seat, though 😂)

I went to see Gabrielle (so similarly non-raucous) in a tiny, sweaty, smoky and packed basement venue at about 7 months. I have very happy memories of putting my hands on my bump and feeling the waters undulate.

skerrywind · 15/03/2017 22:52

Mummatron3000 I was at that concert too. Weather wasn't great as I remember. I wasn;t pregnant thought.

Ed Sheeran? Really? Is that going to be good for your baby force-feeding it that stuff before it's old enough to be able to crawl away?

Purple52 · 15/03/2017 23:51

You're pregnant. Not ill. Go and enjoy it! Wear flat shoes, take snake and don't plan anything strenuous the day after....but work would be fine.

I went to a standing gig when I was 7 months pregnant. I just stayed in the middle at the back and ended up with a really good view

SharonBottsPoundOfGrapes · 16/03/2017 08:06

I went to see the Pogues at 8 months. We did have seats though. The Dropkick Murphy's were on beforehand and the floor was just like a wave of moving people.

I went to a massive gig at Wembley, when 8 months pregnant with my 1st. Baby happily kicked away to the music Grin and I felt exhausted by all the walking DH and I had to do, to get there and back.

Provided that you're so far having a text book pregnancy, you and baby will be just fine.

Enjoy x

Sallysadlyseescertainty · 16/03/2017 08:10

And after the gig I felt exhausted Grin

SeriouslyOutnumbered · 16/03/2017 08:12

I went to gigs during all 3 of my pregnancies with no problems. The highlight was Paramore when 10 weeks with ds3 - I jumped around like a teenager all evening and really paid for it the next day (which was spent on the sofa with no voice), but it was worth it and I'd do it again!

MsGemJay · 16/03/2017 09:54

If you feel well enough on the day and able to rest the day after, go for it. As long whoever you're going with understands you may need to leave if unwell or tired.

If you have a healthy pregnancy and are well, why not.
Maybe stand to the side. People
Will see you are pregnant xx

My friend went to a London rock festival overdue - figured it would get her moving Grin

Geordiebird1 · 16/03/2017 11:08

I went to see P!nk at 7 months pregnant standing tickets, apart from getting a little heady from the heat,(it was July and outdoors blazing sun) lots of people noticed I was pregnant and actually made allowances for me giving me more room.

Allthebestnamesareused · 16/03/2017 17:50

I am another - 7 1/2 months pregant - second row standing when I went to see Robbie Williams at Docklands Arena (in the olden days!)

furryleopard · 16/03/2017 17:56

I went to see the Manic Street Preachers when 5 months pregnant. I was fine and the baby was fine! Although I was sick after the support act but I was sick a lot so not unusual!

TattyCatty · 16/03/2017 17:59

Duran Duran at 32 weeks here. The only downside was having to miss every 3rd song to go for yet another wee!

nbailey2012 · 20/02/2022 10:21

Hi. I’m going to watch Ed Sheeran concert in June and I will be in my second trimester. Would I still be ok to go? Thank you

Should probably start your own thread instead of resurrecting a zombie one, but of course you will be, why wouldn't you?
