So, here's the predicament..
My sister finally got her hands on some Ed sheeran tickets (which are like gold dust these days!), problem is the tickets are for standing and I'll be about 4-5 months pregnant at the time of the concert in June.
My other half isn't best pleased about the situation, understandably he's concerned for my safety, as am I. Seeing as the tickets have now sold out it's unlikely we'll be able to get hold of seated tickets instead.
I'm just wondering had anyone else been to a concert and standing half way through their pregnancy and if they were ok? I REALLY want to go to this concert, and don't want to miss out unless it's going to be too dangerous for me and baby.
Thanks in advance x

I went to Toots and the Maytals at 30 weeks. I had to stand at the back towards the end when it got very hot and the smell of weed became overwhelming, but apart from that it was great

CaptainCanary · 15/03/2017 21:32

Definitely go, I was at hardcore/punk gigs at 6 months pregnant, just stayed at the back. I imagine Ed Sheeran shows are much calmer! Or the venue might be able to sort out getting you moved into seats if you'd prefer.

helenfagain · 15/03/2017 21:34

I went to placebo at about 6 months pregnant and on double crutches with spd! Was fantastic. Thankfully had seated tickets though!

TheFirstMrsDV · 15/03/2017 21:34

Its not an issue really is it?
Women work throughout their pregnancies. An evening at a sedate gig is not as tiring as a day on the wards or stocking shelves.

I saw the lovely Amy Winehouse when I was 5 mths with DC4.
It was fab. I wouldn't have missed it for anything.

I did Notting Hill Carnival with DC1. I was a lot younger then

Any excuse to get out of having to listen to Ed Sheeran would be great in my view.

I went to Finsbury Park for the Stone Roses at 36 weeks, standing obviously. I wore compression socks which helped and staff let me use the disabled loo (someone noticed me queuing and took pity)

Sadly, being stone cold sober, I heard how the stone roses sound to non fans..... (and I adore the roses!)

When we saw ellie goulding the couple sat next to us had swapping their standing tickets for seated ones no problem on the day! Most people want standing!

ASqueakingInTheShrubbery · 15/03/2017 21:43

I saw the Levellers at 6 months pregnant, was right at the front dancing throughout. I was knackered the next day but it was worth it.

LBOCS2 · 15/03/2017 21:44

I saw The Offspring in both my pregnancies (not deliberately but just turns out they release and tour albums when I have babies!). I also saw Bowling for Soup when I was about 7.5 months pregnant. All fine. The only gig I had an issue with was when I was suffering extreme all day sickness at about 15 weeks and almost vomited on the beery, stinky man bouncing next to me. The loos are a LONG way away!

Erinisle22 · 15/03/2017 21:45

I went to a Ben Folds Five gig, standing, at 8 months pregnant at Brixton O2. Feet hurt. Was tired as it was a late night. Had a blast.

JaneEyre70 · 15/03/2017 21:45

Most standing tickets nowadays include unreserved seating in the lower stands....we went to Coldplay at Wembley and were on the pitch until the heavens opened, so we darted undercover. Seated tickets are for the upper levels. I'd look at the seating plan.

ArriettyClock1 · 15/03/2017 21:49

Really can't see a problem - especially in early pregnancy.

Battyboo82 · 15/03/2017 21:50

I went to see the Libertines at 5 months pregnant. I was seated but I was worried about the noise. It was so loud it made my skull vibrate! Baby was kicking quite a bit. But he turned out fine and I Googled it and apparently it's not bad for baby. Being shoved is different though, but you sound like you're going to be at the back so all good.

CrochetBelle · 15/03/2017 21:54

I went to a Slipknot and Slayer gig around 5 months with DC1. I went to see Damien Rice in the earlier weeks with DC2.

Mise1978 · 15/03/2017 21:56

Really? Why would you be unsafe?

There are women who ride bicycles all through their pregnancies in many countries. Who ski, ice skate, swim, jog!, etc. Who even drink wine everyday (think, Italy, France etc) within reason.

Being pregnant isn't a medical condition. This isn't the dark ages. Go out an enjoy yourself!

NinaMarieP · 15/03/2017 22:04

I've got a ticket for Little Mix in June when I will be 34 weeks. My fiancé is worried I won't be "safe". I'm just worried I will be uncomfortable standing for 1.5-2 hours on a hot afternoon. It's outdoors and I don't imagine there will be any proper seating but I will enquire nearer the time about access to a chair/shade if I really need it.

As long as you're ok standing for a while I think you'd be fine at Ed Sheeran. Hope you enjoy!

GreenTshirt55 · 15/03/2017 22:10

Why on earth would it be "dangerous"??

Hellmouth · 15/03/2017 22:11

I went to a Nightwish concert when i was 4 months pregnant. DP and I did some serious head banging. The only problem was I needed to pee every 5 minutes lol.

triskele · 15/03/2017 22:11

I went to a gig at 38 weeks and stood the whole time. Obvs don't go in the middle stick to the sides and you'll be fine.

Ed Sheeran is lightweight fluff , I doubt you need to worry about the circle most put.

triskele · 15/03/2017 22:12

*mosh pit

awholelottastrawberry · 15/03/2017 22:15

Dos AC/DC at 12 weeks and was right up front! I was getting jostled a bit by this angry looking human giant Norwegian (gig was in Norway) so I kind of mimed I was pregnant. He cracked a big smile and cleared circle of space around me and became my protector for the entire gig Grin also did The Specials at 30 weeks and skanked the night away! And I was a little bit pregnant for the Damned. Saw Aerosmith amongst others at a festival at about 20 weeks. All no problem at all. Ed Shearan will be fine!!

Soon2bmummyto2 · 15/03/2017 22:25

I'll be going to a take that concert in May when I'm 33 weeks, olly Murs next week at 26 weeks and billy ocean next month when I'm 28 weeks all are seated just take it easy and you'll be fine .....this will be the second olly Murs concert I've done while pregnant..was 11 weeks with my daughter when I went to see him in 2013 enjoy xx

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 15/03/2017 22:31

Took my little sister to see Steps at 39 weeks. It was fine. I did have visions of my waters breaking at the NEC and my 10 year old sis as my birthing partner though!

I also worked security at a football stadium throughout my pregnancy and at a music festival at 34 weeks, where I was force-fed Guinness and had a great time (obviously wasn't bouncing at 3r weeks, I was in the control room) Grin

AlFin · 15/03/2017 22:31

I went to Glasto at 5 months. Three days of watching gigs in the mid plus camping. You'll be fine. Go out and enjoy it.

Tubbybells · 15/03/2017 22:39

Yay effys1990 - enjoy green day and rancid

I went to rancid at 34.5 weeks - not a problem even near the front. Only thing was having a leap felt wrong.

Was quite emotional, sober, enjoying a crowd of punks singing in harmony
