So, here's the predicament..
My sister finally got her hands on some Ed sheeran tickets (which are like gold dust these days!), problem is the tickets are for standing and I'll be about 4-5 months pregnant at the time of the concert in June.
My other half isn't best pleased about the situation, understandably he's concerned for my safety, as am I. Seeing as the tickets have now sold out it's unlikely we'll be able to get hold of seated tickets instead.
I'm just wondering had anyone else been to a concert and standing half way through their pregnancy and if they were ok? I REALLY want to go to this concert, and don't want to miss out unless it's going to be too dangerous for me and baby.
Thanks in advance x

I went to two rock gig's at about 5months, one I just stood further back and at the other security spotted it and found two empty seats

Mustbeinsane1984 · 14/03/2017 18:57

I'm off to see Ed this Friday! (Excited much) I am 5 and a half months pregnant. My husband bought us the tickets and we are even taking our 4 year old who is super excited too! You are not illl, just pregnant, be wise and stick to open spaces so you don't get any elbow bumps. When I was pregnant with DC1 we went to see foo fighters and couple other festivals. Husband loved it as not drinking alcohol I was the driver for a change! Have an amazing time, go for it!

I have been wondering about this, I will be 27 weeks and have standing tickets for a rock/metal gig, which can be rowdy by nature.

I'd pretty much settled that I would have to sell on...

Effy1990 · 14/03/2017 19:42

I'm planning on seeing Green Day in July at 38.5 weeks at Hyde Park which is nearly 100 miles from my house. Ed will be fine!

lilyborderterrier · 14/03/2017 19:54

You'll be fine love enjoy it'll be great ! I'm going to see Elbow on Saturday and I'm 17 weeks, I know I'll be uncomfortable by the time I get back to the hotel and tired from not having a beer but I'm focusing on the great time I'll have and rest up the next day. Have fun xx

KoolKoala07 oh wow that's so cool we'll be in the same boat then!! Grin haha x
Thanks so much everyone, think I'm gonna contact the O2 beforehand just see if there's anything they could suggest, otherwise I'll just stay at the back wiggling away with the bump Smile

Definitely go towards the back, you'll have more space away from idiots. When I was about fifteen my mum came to a concert with me a few weeks after a breast cancer op, she politely asked a girl stood next to her to move the fuck over stop standing really close to her arm due to the op and this girl laughed and punched her. We got her kicked out but it ruined the concert all the same. Hope you enjoy yourself though x

I was so heavily pregnant at one gig that I couldn't fit through the turnstiles and they had to open a special door for me Blush

eurochick · 15/03/2017 06:52

I went to see Arcade Fire at 32 weeks (standing). I just stayed out of the crowds.

glitterglitters · 15/03/2017 07:13

This thread is making me happy with all the good music taste 😁

SunnyDayDreaming101 · 15/03/2017 07:20

Another vote for go!!!

Definitely don't miss out, I went to a couple of standing gigs, at about 3 months I had to sit for a bit cause of low bp but it was a smaller venue and some nice guy gave me a seat near the bar.

The rest have been fine, I did have to admit defeat at the last gig though, my back was killing me, at 34 weeks not surprising really!

Haggisfish · 15/03/2017 07:26

But if you really feel you can't go, op, I'll happily go in your place and send you picturesGrin

Jessiecat27 · 15/03/2017 08:02

If you're worried then someone who has seated tickets will definitely swap with you! Try and find an event page on Facebook and see if anyone wants to swap when you get to the venue (: I'll be three months when I have a small gig in may so no chance of sitting down, it's definitely going to be a boisterous gig but I'll be at the back just in case. I know someone who went to Leeds festival and camped at 6 months pregnant so as long as you're careful you will be fine! (:

Jessiecat27 · 15/03/2017 08:03

Also, enjoy! I wish I had managed to get tickets!

Suenahmi · 15/03/2017 11:14

I went to a scissors sisters concert at 7.5 months pregnant. All was fine

Stickaforkinimdone · 15/03/2017 11:39

I went to club to see one of my favourite electro dance DJs play when I was 8 months gone, made sure to stand further back and it was fine!

NicAndNick · 15/03/2017 11:49

I went to Rammstein at about 8 months. It was great. We got there early and stood behind the sound booth so we had a great view (I'm 5 2) but we're out of the crowds. I sat on the floor marking a space until lots of people turned up so didn't even get too tired! Definitely go!

MrsCharlieD · 15/03/2017 17:51

I'm going to an asking alexandria gig next month. I'll be 4 months pregnant and they're a metal core band. I'm not worried in the slightest, I just won't be joining in the wall of death or circle pits 😀

Sillysausage2 · 15/03/2017 21:05

I went at 39 weeks after missing him twice before, nothing was stopping me! Was no problem at all, we had seating tickets, went in just before the start and took our time

Flumplet · 15/03/2017 21:10

I went to see take that in concert at 9months pregnant. We had standing tickets but they upgraded us to priority seating when they saw me lumbering in.

Northernlight22 · 15/03/2017 21:10

I'd go .... I saw muse at 4 months and then stereophonics at 7 months. Stereophonics I struggled a bit with standing all that time (got there early for a good spot) but was fine with muse 👍🏻

Enjoy!

Toefluff12 · 15/03/2017 21:15

To be fair I don't think an Ed Sheeran concert is going to be a raucous affair. You will be plenty safe. It is if you are comfortable with standing for that period of time that may be an issue.
I worked with adults with learning difficulties until the day I had my ds and that I imagine is more hardcore than an ES gig. 😜

I went to a few with my first, doves, elbow, Kew the music. At Brixton academy they asked me to stand/sit in the disabled area as I was the size of a small house but no one else cared. Really annoying woman at elbow last week decided her being pregnant meant she could move mid gig and block the view of the smalles person in the crowd. She was 'it's a gig' her partner was a rude wanker when I suggested she move-don't be like them and you will be grand!

novemberontrumpwatch · 15/03/2017 21:27

Saw Santana at 38 weeks! Was great!
