Hello!
Any one else received their first BFP this month!? I am 4+5. Due November 10 and would love to talk to some other first time mummies as every twinge and niggle sends me into panic at the moment!! I'm sure I'm not the only one...

@Squigglefish I'm 10+3 and symptoms have died down a lot. Slightly sore boobs and tired but that's about it except for acne. That's getting worse and my skin is so oily but also dry and flaking in areas. Feel like wearing a balaclava every day xx

ew1990 · 10/04/2017 21:45

I'm so glad I'm not the only one, I've never really suffered with sickness, achy boobs have gone apart from sore nipples at night, I'm still mega tired and oh my god what's with the acne? I have a new spot everyday xx

Squigglefish · 10/04/2017 21:57

@MrsB12345 that's reassuring to read, thank you. Ugh the acne is hideous isn't it. When are we supposed to glow haha!!?!xx

mrsjkerry · 11/04/2017 09:06

Maybe the glow is actually the oily skin? I've certainly developed that and I've always had good skin!

So just done my morning routine. 5AM eat a cereal bar because I'm awake and sick. Sleep again until 7AM when I need the toilet and feel sick. Lie in bed for 30 mins and convince myself I'm not sick. Get up to run to the toilet with a bad belly. End up going downstairs to make dry toast. Nibble on that slowly until it's gone. Rush to the toilet again. Sit still on the bed until nausea subsides. Honestly, I can't do this for 9 months! I am 9+4 today 😩

MrsJ I hope you feel better soon, that does sound wareing.

lydia a harmony test is a private blood test that tests for downs/Edwards syndrome (and one other I can't quite remember). When I spoke to the midwife, she said that they do test for the above on the 12 week scan but the harmony is more accurate. She said, that the NHS test just gives a yes/no anwser, whereas the harmony gives a percentage of risk.

We've opted for the NHS screening at the mo...but may very well pay for the harmony based upon the result we get (I'm older so my risk is higher anyway).

Has anyone's else's bump suddenly popped in the last week?

I'm slim anyway but the bump suddenly looks slightly more prominent....I'm 9 + five days.

lydiangel83 · 11/04/2017 17:23

@THirdEeye can i ask how old you are? I'll be 35 when baby is born x

mummabubs · 11/04/2017 17:31

Just to empathise with a few peeps- I'm 14 weeks, the only glow I have is the oily skin, my hair is both greasy and dandruffy and I'm still being sick daily. I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of the glow... fingers crossed 😂

sophr2017 · 11/04/2017 17:43

Same with the oily skin, my forehead and chin is ridiculous!! I'm 14 weeks today and have got a little bump now, although I'm still convinced most of it is the extra food I've been eating Smile

Hope the sickness wears off soon for those feeling rubbish x

ew1990 · 11/04/2017 17:58

Ooh the joys, I'm 9 week and my oh said the other day when I hugged him that he could feel my belly, I'm slim but been eating so much too x

MrsB12345 · 11/04/2017 17:59

@lydiangel83 I'll be 35 too xx

Moo31 · 11/04/2017 22:03

Third I'm 9+4 and my bump definitely popped over the weekend! I have only put on a pound though which is weird!

My skin and scalp are really dry. My back is really spotty which hasn't happened since I was a teenager! Also spots on my shoulders. Our bodies aren't our own anymore! Lol :)

Anyone watching obem?! :'')

ew1990 · 11/04/2017 22:13

@Moo31 I darent watch it coz I get nervous at the thought of labour, and I have my little brother and sister with me tonight, may watch on catch up tomorrow xxx

Squigglefish · 11/04/2017 22:24

Hahah I too am terrified of the thought of labour and not even thinking about it yet!!Shockxx

Moo31 · 11/04/2017 22:29

They both have birth like absolute bosses - we've got this shit ladies! (Also terrified ... definitely going to look into hypnobirthing!)

Moo31 · 11/04/2017 22:30

*gave

ew1990 · 11/04/2017 22:40

I was there when my mum gave birth to my little sis and she handle it like a boss, but it was her 7th!

Moo31 · 11/04/2017 22:58

Wow that must have been amazing @ew! :)

ew1990 · 11/04/2017 23:23

It was surreal, by far the best experience of my life xx

MSH2010 · 12/04/2017 06:02

Thing is ladies with obem it's too late for us to go back now Grin

I'll always remember a comment from one of the earlier series when the male midwife said to the girl "Well it was fun nine months ago"

mrsjkerry · 12/04/2017 08:12

I cannot watch OBEM - I'd rather remain totally ignorant about labour for as long as humanly possible. I know this ignorance will expire in approximately 6 months 😖

tmc14 · 12/04/2017 09:06

Morning ladies,
I've never seen OBEM - my midwife told me not to! Haha.

Had early scan this morning. Measured 8W 5D, strong fast heartbeat. Most surreal thing I've ever seen! Barely slept with nerves so am now knackered & heading to work for a v busy day.

Hope everyone else has a good day x

MrsNemAz · 12/04/2017 15:11

How is everyone with working out? Before I became pregnant I was so certain that I will exercise but since I found out that I'm pregnant I haven't done anything! I feeling so weak. I'm worried about putting on lots of extra weight.

Once I'm over the first 12 weeks and all is well I hope I will feel better and might go back to jogging in the morning. I also heard that yoga can go a good preparation for labour although I never tried yoga.

tmc14 · 12/04/2017 15:29

MrsN - I was very active before pregnancy. Finding out I was pregnant coincided with a horrid chest infection, so I was wiped out for over 2 weeks and did nothing. I'm now back to yoga & Pilates (been doing it for a couple of years) and have swapped running for swimming as I'm too tired for running at the moment. Hoping to start again this weekend though.
Ive also tried to up my walking to compensate for lack of more active pursuits. Exercise is really important to my mental health so am very aware of needing to keep it going in some capacity.

ew1990 · 12/04/2017 15:32

@MrsNemAz I've never worked out, but I have a job where I'm on my feet for 12 hours and it's quite heavy so i would say I'm fairly fit, and I do walk everywhere xx

lydiangel83 · 12/04/2017 15:56

I'm not doing as much as I wanted (a little pilates and jogging) but don't feel great most of the time so mostly just eating!
