Hello!
Any one else received their first BFP this month!? I am 4+5. Due November 10 and would love to talk to some other first time mummies as every twinge and niggle sends me into panic at the moment!! I'm sure I'm not the only one...

Misty you've been in my thoughts. Good to hear from you and glad to hear you are off work and looking after yourself. Hopefully that's the worst of the physical pain over for you now. Take care of yourself xo

Hi girls, nothing on the downstairs front, I feel really stupid today like I over reacted by going to A&E, it's just such a scary time, how's everyone doing today? Xx

ew1990 · 09/04/2017 19:00

I should really check before posting, I meant nothing today downstairs so hopefully it was just old blood xx

mrsjkerry · 09/04/2017 22:06

Told my little sister today 💕 she had somehow already guessed, but she cried! So cute. Still worry about telling people before the 12 week mark though..

On the symptom front, I vomited all morning and thought I'd have to go back down to the hospital for fluids and antisickness medicines, but somehow I managed to stop it by going out for a long, long, sloooow walk. Who knew? Not that I can do that routine next week when I'm back at school...

How is everyone else doing? @ew1990 don't worry about a small bit of blood. I've had like brown discharge and tiny drops of blood I'm sure. I wouldn't panic unless I seriously bled and had pain.

Aw MrsJ bless your sister :) hopefully the sickness stays at bay for you!

Moo31 · 09/04/2017 22:19

Ew glad to hear it's stopped. You should still take it as easy as you can though.

ew1990 · 09/04/2017 22:30

Thank you @mrsjkerry and @Moo31, this is why I love this thread, always support and advice when you need it, my close family have knew since about week 6, my little brother and sister (9&10) are so excited but can't get their heads round the fact they are gunna be an auntie and uncle when they are kids, bless em xxx

mrsjkerry · 09/04/2017 22:31

My sister is 18, so it's a bit more real for her. I hadn't thought she'd be all that excited/interested so I was really touched!

@tmc14 @Sakura03 where are you travelling/ have you travelled in Japan? Getting a little paranoid now as reading online most hospital staff don't speak English and wondering what risk of obscure diseases is in the remote southwest islands off Okinawa that we are visiting during rainy season?!

In reply to who have we told @mrsjkerry and @ew1990 only parents so far but planning to tell siblings at Easter (all grown ups but no kids of their own) and hoping for a good reaction!!

ew1990 · 10/04/2017 08:32

@lydiangel83 I'm the oldest of seven at 26 and youngest is 9, my mum deserves a medal I don't know how she had seven kids I'm dreading the labour xx

Morning ladies, hope you've all had a nice weekend. ew sorry to see you've been through the mill recently, glad things have settled down.
I'm 10w +1 and I'm nervous to report I feel fine. Only slight nausea and slightly sore boobs, even my bloating has gone down. I know it's TMI but I've even got my sex drive back, it's been dormant since about 5 weeks!
One thing that's awful is ACNE. I've got it really bad on my cheeks, I never get spots there. They're definitely hormonal.
I am counting down the days until my 12 weeks scan to hopefully find out all is well. Sigh.

tmc14 · 10/04/2017 08:51

Lydia - we're going to Tokyo, Kyoto & the art islands (Naoshima etc) so not very remote. Hoping for some day trips to a few countryside places too. I confess I haven't really thought about the potential need for medical help. I've made sure my insurance is good. We're lucky in that we've got a friend who lives in Tokyo so I guess that, even if we're elsewhere we can call him for translation needs. I'd perhaps have the number for the British embassy in your phone in case you need assistance?

ew1990 · 10/04/2017 10:03

@Squigglefish thank you, it goes so slow doesn't it, at least I get to see my little bean Saturday (if all is well hopefully) been to my doctors this morning and he's signed me off for a week xxx

MrsNemAz · 10/04/2017 10:45

I have a question. I had my first booking appointment with the Midwife on the 3rd April. That time she said my first scan will be on the 24th April. I did not receive any letter about the 24th April. However I received a letter about a scan in June! So I'm really confused right now.
I was also wondering when would I meet with the midwife again? We didn't book another midwife appointment during my booking appointment. Hmm

ew1990 · 10/04/2017 11:07

I'm not sure about areas, but my midwife said to me that when I've had my scan I'll have to work out when I'm 16 weeks and make an appointment with her so she can listen for baby's heartbeat, but she can't do this until I'm 16 weeks xx

lydiangel83 · 10/04/2017 13:54

Got my scan date letter today, just over a week after midwife appt and it is scheduled for just after our two week holiday to Japan! (17th May). Very excited and nervous all starting to feel more real :)

lydiangel83 · 10/04/2017 13:56

I have a question on what is a harmony scan and why would you opt to have one?

I know so little about all of this, a lot to learn!

ew1990 · 10/04/2017 14:17

I haven't hear of that one? I'm wondering if coz I'm having a scan on Saturday (I'll be 10+2) coz of bleeding if I will still get my 12 week one? Xx

ew1990 · 10/04/2017 14:19

@lydiangel83 are you in America?

Moo31 · 10/04/2017 14:28

Talking of heartbeats ... is anyone considering buying a doppler so they can listen to the heartbeat themselves at home? They are around £30 online and I am very tempted ... obviously not until I've had my 12 week scan though.

I am 9+3 today, saw gp last Wed, just waiting on my letter for booking appt / 12 week scan.

MrsNem it sounds like they have your 12 and 20 week scans mixed up! I would call your midwife?

lydiangel83 · 10/04/2017 14:42

@ew1990 no but I've heard people talking about it. Based in UK :)

ew1990 · 10/04/2017 14:48

@lydiangel83 I've googled them and they sound like the tests you can have done for Down syndrome etc, me and my partner have opted not to do this, coz if there's a chance my mw mentioned stuff like taking a bit of amniotic fluid which I'm not keen and to be honest it wouldn't matter to us either way xx

ew1990 · 10/04/2017 14:51

@Moo31 I think they are lovely to buy, personally I wouldn't coz if I couldn't find a heartbeat I'd be devastated, I think you can pick up like the sound of blood running through veins which sounds like a heartbeat too and the two are very confusing, but if you'd like one I don't see why not :) £30s not bad xx

Squigglefish · 10/04/2017 17:47

@ew1990 that's good. Take some time out for you and relax. I'm sure all will be perfect on Saturday:) xx

ew1990 · 10/04/2017 17:50

I plan on doing @Squigglefish OH is working away Tuesday and Wednesday so I'm planning on having 2 days of relaxing, I'm sure all will be, I will keep you all updated x
