Hello!
Any one else received their first BFP this month!? I am 4+5. Due November 10 and would love to talk to some other first time mummies as every twinge and niggle sends me into panic at the moment!! I'm sure I'm not the only one...

Misty I have just thrown out all my reed diffusers because i read the chemicals in them can be harmful!!

Tonk I am also very anxious about this but realise we can't go 9 months...though I probably would 😄 we may tentatively try this weekend or maybe wait for an early scan...

It's a tough one 😳 we last dtd 11dpo!! Nothing penetrative since although we have had a bit of handy fun and I've gotta be honest, I had really bad cramps directly from the moment of O for about 20 minutes later!! I was like omg what have we done!! I hated the feeling! The O was only nice for a few seconds then I was like shit what is this pain 😲 freaked me out girlies 😳 don't know what to think about it now. Luckily hubs has put his back out so can barely walk at mo let alone anything else lol x

Moo31 · 09/03/2017 22:37

Haha misty! Yeah we're steering clear for the time being!

MistyBxx · 09/03/2017 22:51

I've googled it and everything says that there's no problem with dtd at this stage... as long as your midwife/doc hasn't flagged any problems like low placenta or something, but what I worry about is a lot of us aren't seeing a midwife til 8+ weeks so how do we know if we have any problems?? I'm booking an early scan first week of April so I'm personally gonna wait for that 😳 although the people doing the scans are sonographers, not midwives/doctors so I don't know how much they'll be able to advise me 🙈

mrsjkerry · 10/03/2017 06:01

Misty I booked my 8 week scan at a private doctors and it is an actual doctor who is going to do it. I didn't trust the cheaper options! 😄

That's a really good point about not seeing the midwife yet Misty, I hadn't thought of that. I think we'll hold off a little longer!

mrsjkerry · 10/03/2017 08:01

Right so I weighed myself this morning and I have gained 1KG. Wtf is that about!? I have run my 5km every morning before work (normal for me) and eaten healthier than I have done in weeks! Husband thinks it's water retention and the fact my boobs are bigger but it's still very disheartening. I don't want to gain tons of weight!!!

OP posts:
MistyBxx · 10/03/2017 12:18

Oooof I'm not even stepping on a scale yet, I've already put about a stone on since my wedding 😩 I've no idea how weight gain works but I'm a size 10-12 (I'm being polite, more 12 lol) and I do tend to put weight on easily, always have done and have always struggled to keep it down so I'm dreading the thought of ballooning and literally losing my entire figure! I know that sounds awful, and I honestly don't care what I look like as long as baby and I are healthy but I just have no idea how it's gonna go lol and no control!x x

MistyBxx · 10/03/2017 18:44

Hey girlies, how are you all?
Soooo I've got a wedding tomoz of one of my bestest friends!! Our entire friendship group is made up of some serious big drinkers and we love nothing more when we all manage to get together than getting smashed and cutting up the dancefloor!! Sooooo as you can imagine, as much as I'm looking forward to it, there's about 12 of us all amazing buddies who I love but none of whom I want to know my "news" just yet.... not coz I don't want to tell them, they all kind of know I've been casually ttc since my own wedding in sept, and I'm busting to shout it from the rooftops but I'm literally 6+1 and it's just far too early 😩 sooo it's going to be a hell of a struggle avoiding the booze. Not for me, I'm not even feeling remotely like a drunk BUT I'm wondering how the hell i'm gonna get around this! There's no way on earth they would believe "antibiotics" or "sudden illness" or "driving" coz they KNOW how much I've been looking forward to this wedding, I don't know what to do! I don't want to baby-bomb someone's wedding day haha and I really don't want to let on so I was thinking of literally faking it... like drinking everything out of a wine glass and still having a bit of a dance in the party. Ohhhh they're not stupid though, I bet someone will out me. Especially when I turn down a jäger bomb coz that never happens 😂😂😂

Jessiecat27 · 10/03/2017 18:51

Hey can I join? I've had three bfp! Worked out I'm around 5 weeks so I guess I'll be due around the same time too, anyone know how to work the date out? Off to the gp next week to get refererred!

Tonks87 · 10/03/2017 18:57

Misty I have a similar problem...it's my besties hen do next weekend and I have no idea what to do either! I thought that I could drink non-alcoholic cocktails all night but the problem is ordering them without people noticing. I considered the antibiotics cover too (and have even found the name of a certain antibiotic that you categorically cannot drink on (flagyl)) but I know people will see straight through it. There's also afternoon tea with prosecco and a spa day to cope with. I'm also feeling a little vulnerable as it's so early on but it's my besties hen and I can't miss it!

Mrsjk I don't think I've actually put weight on yet but I look like I have! I'm so bloated...I look about 4 months gone already!

Tonks87 · 10/03/2017 19:12

Hi Jessiecat

You can work it out on the NHS website www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/due-date-calculator.aspx

I've been using the Ovia pregnancy app which I quite like too.

Jessiecat27 · 10/03/2017 19:15

Oh thankyou! I have always had a 28 day cycle but my last two were a bit different!

oneofthose · 10/03/2017 19:35

Hi!
I've never posted before just lurked and I finally got my BFP on Wednesday so please can I join :-)

I think I'm 4wk 3days and will be due on the 15th Nov.

I've also got a close friends hen do next weekend and no idea how to cover up the fact I'm not drinking. Also googled the antibiotic Flagyl Confused but I can't even pronounce it let alone convince people I'm taking it!

Feeling bad because I haven't rang the doctors yet, should probably do that on Monday but assumed they wouldn't want to know until later on.

mrsjkerry · 10/03/2017 20:00

Welcome Jessie! I have taken over ten pg tests as I just can't believe it!!!

Welcome oneofthose!

Misty can husband drink them for you? 😄

oneofthose · 10/03/2017 20:12

Tonks I was considering telling my bestie so she can help cover for me with the others. Drink all my shots and secretly order me lemonade. I'd end up telling her soon anyway as she knows we were TTC so could you do that?

Tonks87 · 10/03/2017 20:22

Oneofthose I thought about telling her too, but I have 2 besties and couldn't tell one without the other. And we couldn't tell them without telling their DP's and I'm not ready to tell 4 people yet. Also it's her hen, I don't want her worrying about me when she should be having fun.

MistyBxx · 10/03/2017 20:45

Hi jessicat and oneof welcome chicks!
Oh I'm glad I've done the hen do... I was pg when I went on it but literally didn't have a clue! I was like a week 😭 but now it's the main event!
Hubs is a shit drinker lol it's usually me finishing his 😂😂😂
Thing is, I don't even know what to drink! Coke is full of caffeine, too much orange juice gives me heartburn, ohhh I'm so nervous. And I know we are going to have a toast of champers with food... I can't not have a sip... will a sip be ok?! I'm so paranoid 😔

Moo31 · 10/03/2017 21:00

Misty I read somewhere that as there's no umbilical cord yet you are OK to have a bit (I think it was advice for people who had had alcohol not realising they were pg) so a wee sip will be OK! I read apple juice and fizzy water looks like prosecco - have a word with the barman and tell him you / husband will be ordering this from him all day but you will just say "same again please". Or just apple juice in a wine glass?

Moo31 · 10/03/2017 21:04

My friends have just arranged a meet up for early April - I'll be 8 weeks. Far too early to tell them. I haven't told them we are trying but I think they suspect we are. If this bloating doesn't bugger off by then it will be obvious though! I'm nervous already lol hopefully going for lunch so I can hide my belly under the table! I feel for you though - you've a harder job to hide it surrounded by alcohol! Another thought - are you staying where the wedding is? So you could nip up to your room to "top up"?

oneofthose · 10/03/2017 21:04

Making friends with the bar person sounds like a good idea, might sneakily go up at the beginning of the night and say if I ever order a cocktail can you make a mocktail version please. Grin

oneofthose · 10/03/2017 21:06

And Moo I've read that the bloating goes down after 6 weeks ish! I hope so because I look very pregnant already! I'm sure you'll be feeling better by 8 weeks!

Moo31 · 10/03/2017 21:20

Ah @oneofthose I'm glad it's not just me then! I feel like a have a wee bump already but I know it's impossible and it's just bloating but that's good to know thank you! :)

Tonks87 · 10/03/2017 21:48

I'm exactly the same, I was convinced that someone at work today was going to notice how big my tummy was looking. Not helped by having to walk through the office every 5 minutes to use the loo!

Moo31 · 10/03/2017 21:50

Yes tonks! I feel like the frequent peeing is a bit of giveaway too - I'm like "they must know"! But in reality they probably haven't even noticed! I think morning sickness kicks in around 6 weeks ... now that will be a giveaway! Lol!
