Hello!
Any one else received their first BFP this month!? I am 4+5. Due November 10 and would love to talk to some other first time mummies as every twinge and niggle sends me into panic at the moment!! I'm sure I'm not the only one...

Hi everyone, Can I join please? I got my bfp on Monday at 4 weeks and so far I've taken 3 tests😊 We've been trying for about 2 1/2 years and I had an early MC in May 2015 at roughly 6 weeks, we then had all the NHS tests done last year and were diagnosed "unexplained" so I'm very cautious. I keep telling myself that what will be will be, but it's so hard not to worry about it but I really try not to. I've felt a lot of twinges but today I've felt extremely bloated or like I'm just about to come on... do you guys have the same symptoms?

Moo31 · 10/03/2017 22:12

Hi sakura - congrats! Really sorry to hear about your loss and completely understandable that you are apprehensive. I got my bfp last Friday at 4 weeks and had cramping and twinging for a few days - still getting it now but to a much lesser extent. There's a website called countdown to pregnancy which tells you what symptoms to expect on each dpo up to 21 dpo and it has been a comfort to me this week to see that my symptoms are "normal"!

Sakura03 · 10/03/2017 22:25

Thank you Moo31 and thanks for tip on the website, I'll definitely check it out.

MistyBxx · 10/03/2017 22:57

Congrats Sakura and welcome :)

Omg girls I was gonna say about my tummy! It's huge! Like I know it's impossible to have a bump now, and I've never been a fan of sit-ups so have never had a washboard stomach (or ever a totally flat one tbh, I'm not overweight but I've always had a spare tyre or two 😂🙈 but literally this week I swear it's grown! I usually suck it in by default haha so I don't know if it's just coz I've been twinging all week, I subconsciously haven't been holding the bulge in as much or if I'm just bloated or what! But it defo looks huge 😩 luckily I'm wearing a poofy 50s style frock tomoz which is tight around my skinny ribs and poofs out with a full underskirt so I can let it all hang out and nobody will see it 😂
Defo gonna have a sly word with the bar staff, that's such a good idea! We were going to stay at the venue but after my bfp I was like what's the point spending £100 to stay somewhere 40 mins from home when I'm gonna have the car there and not drink anyway! The plan is to tell everyone we are staying over (they've all got a bus to go home) then when the bus goes, we will sneak off and everyone who is staying over has been told we are getting on the bus!
Oh the tangled web we weave 😂😂😂

This is quite a good link too!

My little seed (5 weeks) currently looks like a vagjna in a bubble 😂😂😂

mrsjkerry · 11/03/2017 06:04

Moo & oneofthose I am sooooo bloated! I look like I'm already 6 months 😄 I'm hoping it goes down when the morning sickness kicks in...which is due next week. I'm terrified though because I HATE feeling sick. I cry my eyes out if I ever feel nauseous; it's the worst!

Sakura welcome! Ive felt like I'm about to come on all this week. Full, bloated, swollen, crampy. I think it's normal!

Moo31 · 11/03/2017 07:49

Haha misty! Thanks for that link - and that's exactly what I thought about the 5 week picture!! Have a great day at the wedding :)

Mrsj -hopefully the morning sickness is kind to you so you won't suffer too badly. I've read it's caused by low blood sugar so I'm planning on not letting my blood sugar get low and hopefully avoid it!!

oneofthose · 11/03/2017 09:19

I'm already feeling a tiny bit queasy when I've not eaten so I've got plain digestives to hold it off.
Also anti sickness wristbands I think are going to be by best friends!

Enjoy the wedding today Misty!

sophr2017 · 11/03/2017 09:24

Hi all, I'm due October 15th and am also a first time parent! Can relate to what everyone is saying!!

My first midwife app is tomorrow and I'll be 9wks, so we paid for a private scan at 7 weeks to put my mind at ease! I'll definitely we paying for an early scan to find out the sex as well!!

I was a smoker and drink quite a bit so hiding it from my friends has been so hard!! At the events I've had to go to I've just claimed I'm on antibiotics and trying to give up smoking, i know most people are well aware I'm lying but luckily none have outright asked!!

Suffering from morning sickness big style too so have become a bit of a social recluse!

Lovely to speak to people due around the same time!

sophr2017 · 11/03/2017 09:26

Sorry just noticed someone else's thread, I have also become obsessed with Sea Bands for anti sickness! I find they don't get rid of the feeling but take the edge off to make things easier!

Also have gone off tea and chocolate...my two favourite things Hmm All I want is cheese and eggs!!

ethelfleda · 11/03/2017 09:30

Morning ladies, hope you're all well today. Little tip - I was just looking at maternity clothes and didn't intend on buying anything... BUT new look have some stuff in the sale... I just bought two tops, two jumpers and a dress for £20. And seeing as we will have bumps come Autumn, I think buying jumpers and warm clothes now on sale is a good bet! I honestly didn't want to buy anything baby or pregnancy related until I am 12 weeks but I thought this was an offer toof good to pass up on.

mrsjkerry · 11/03/2017 10:09

Hi soph and welcome! Where did you go for your 7 week scan and would you recommend it??

OP posts:
sophr2017 · 11/03/2017 10:26

I went through Babybond on someone else's recommendation and they were brilliant! Think they are national but may only be in the South West. It just reassured me and I've been happy to wait for my Booking in App now not stressing like I would have been! X

mrsjkerry · 11/03/2017 10:37

I am so scared! I've read that they can see if your baby stopped developing at 6 weeks and died; or if there's no heartbeat! I'd almost rather never go for a scan and just see what happens 😄 honestly I'm so anxious

OP posts:
sophr2017 · 11/03/2017 10:45

Mrsjkerry it is nerve wracking as any scan would be but worth it to put your mind at ease! I saw baby's heartbeat, so yes you would know but I guess the upside of that is at least you know? I'm personally so glad I did it and staff there were lovely, looking forward to my midwife app rather than worrying!

oneofthose · 11/03/2017 10:56

I think I'm going to have an early scan, like you say it's worth paying for it so I can worry at little less. I think I'll go at 8 weeks then I can happily tell our parents Grin

sophr2017 · 11/03/2017 11:16

Oneofthose that's the other reason I did, as was keen to tell family and work (my job involves me being on the road doing about 200 miles a day so just wanted to make them aware); have told them happily now we've had the scan. It's the hardest thing keeping quiet about it; I just want to tell everyone!! Grin

mrsjkerry · 11/03/2017 19:02

We have ordered pizza tonight 😬 trying to eat healthier but also paranoid about my oestrogen levels dropping like they did last year when I ate healthy and lost a bit of weight...

OP posts:
THirdEeye · 11/03/2017 19:31

I'm five weeks now....

Has anyone else been suffering with indigestion/Heartburn?

My scan is booked for a week Thursday and I'm quite anxious....trying to keep positive.

Moo31 · 11/03/2017 21:21

Hi all
@soph - congrats and thanks for sharing the info on the scan. My booking appointment is with the midwife at 6+4 - does anyone know if she will check for the heartbeat? If not I might be tempted to book in for one of those early scans.

@ethel - thanks for the new look sale tip! My cousin loved their stuff when she was pg so I'll have to have a look :)

@thirdeye - I'm 5 weeks too. Heartburn was one of my symptoms during the 2ww but I have had it again today. Hoping it won't be a permanent fixture for the next 8 months!

@mrsj - we're having Chinese. That's good to know that levels drop if you eat healthy - I'll keep that one in my back pocket for when I need an excuse for bad stuff! ;)

sophr2017 · 11/03/2017 21:31

Thanks Moo and you Smile

As far as I am aware the booking app is just blood test and talking through options and moving forward and to book in your dating scan, but I'm really not sure! Mine is on Monday so can tell all then!

Couldn't hear the heartbeat at 8 weeks just see it on the scan!

Moo31 · 11/03/2017 22:42

Thanks Soph - I'll wait and see what happens at your booking app before booking anything :)

Jessiecat27 · 11/03/2017 22:53

I have a massive phobia of being sick, dreading that part! Constantly tired but hopefully I'll get a midwife app next week, luckily I'm the weird one that doesn't sit with anyone on my break in work so no-one will notice I'm just having chocolate for lunch, everyone knows I'm a savoury person! Grin

MistyBxx · 11/03/2017 23:53

Evening girls, so I'm home and survived the wedding! The day time was easy, the free drinks were champagne peach bellinis or orange juice and if you mixed the peach purée with the orange juice they looked identical! Had a chat with the barmaid (who was pg herself!) and she served me blackcurrant squash and lemonade in a wine glass all day, looked just like rosè!
But the night...😩😩😩
I turned one jagerbomb down then another then another, couldn't face getting up and fake-drunk-dancing to S.club 7 😂 in the end, 2 of my friends took me to one side and were like "are you ok? Have you two argued? Is he making you not drink?" Coz me and hubs were looking grumpy as fuck, and I have a history of getting shitfaced and it's no secret he hates it when I'm steaming haha and I was obviously not doing a very good job of acting pissed! So I had to tell them!! Only 2 of them, they were over the moon and both have kids themselves and have sworn not to breathe a word... I was upset I had to tell them but I couldn't let them think hubs was having a go at me 😂 Fucksake like. Also made it easier to sneak off early tho! Now home in my jamas praying the cheesecake and coleslaw I ate with my meal was pasteurised 😩🙈
