Thanks Bec I ordered one on amazon an hour ago, thought sod it, and will just have to make myself promise to be sensible with it! It will be here tomorrow

INeedNewShoes · 08/03/2017 14:16

Olivers - re the trade show, I think it depends a bit on whether you can trust that you will be allowed to look after yourself. Trade shows in massive air-conditioned, fluorescent-lit venues are tiring even when you're on good form.

But if you really can just sit (and that means sit, on a decent chair) at the stand for most of the day and also be given a proper lunch break so that you can sit outside for an hour and get some proper food, then be able to relax by yourself in the evening you'd probably be absolutely fine at 23 weeks.

If you end up on your feet, no proper breaks, not eating properly, expected to network/entertain potential clients in the evenings, then I know I would have struggled at 23 weeks.

AmyB1986 · 08/03/2017 14:52

So we have ONE blob with a heartbeat measuring 7+2 EDD moved to 23rd October! The pain I've been having is not pregnancy related as far as they can tell.

Also diagnosed that my uterus is retroverted as well as septated.

Still feeling anxious although I know miscarriage rate drop dramatically after a heartbeat has been detected.

Amy - this is brilliant news Smile So pleased you've got a little blob with a heartbeat.

Just out of interest, does any action have to be taken because of the septated uterus? My uterus is retroverted and it hasn't made any difference to anything thus far.

AmyB1986 · 08/03/2017 15:00

So my septation only causes breech and small babies, it can be corrected but no point as it hasn't really caused me any problems. It is linked to higher miscarriage rates as the septum has low blood flow so if it implanted there, I would have a miscarriage. Luckily it's not and is in a nice position.

American ramzi theory is suggesting it's a boy too!

AmyB1986 · 08/03/2017 15:01

That was supposed to say no not so!! Farking phone!

Cookiemonster19 · 08/03/2017 15:10

Congratulations Amy! i think my due date is around the same time as yours.... but not sure yet as my periods were irregular. I'm hoping to have a scan next month... I feel like the longer I leave it the better.... sickness has calmed down now thank goodness. Grin

SayItIsntSo1 · 08/03/2017 15:13

Yay! Great news Amy! Really pleased for you.

purpleviolet1 · 08/03/2017 15:37

Xxbec, thanks. They told me that if I was going to be induced they would do that at 38 but c section is 39 weeks as baby's lungs 'mature' during a natural birth and sometimes c section babies have trouble breathing. I'll keep pushing though because I'm getting a lot of period cramps and heavy discharge.

Thanks little pooch! I'm only really worried because of the extra risks they said I carry because of previous abdominal surgery I had for cancer a few years ago.

Welcome Corrin! Congrats and you are definitely in the right place for reassurance. I've had 2 mcs and now 36+5 thankfully. First baby.

Sayit - great news re harmony results!!!

Happy birthday ants! The memories can be painful 😣 let yourself grieve though and it's good that you appreciate you are nearly there now even though it didn't go as originally expected.

Wow Amy so happy to hear your good news! I was absolutely gutted for you when I read that from 8 potential babies 2 survived. You are so brave as are all the others on this thread xxx what does it mean about your uterus?

AmyB1986 · 08/03/2017 15:48

Thank everyone!

Purple it doesn't really mean much to be honest. The retrovertion just means my uterus tilts towards my spine rather than my tummy and the septation is like a band that runs all the way down the back of my uterus. The babies then can't turn to the head down position and are on the small side as it's restricts fetal growth slightly. Dd's weighed 6lb 8 both at full term. Causes me to contract a lot after 20 weeks as well but not actually labour. it's caused is extreme heavy periods, flooding through pads and tampons and conception problems. I had mc'd because of the septum and the baby implanting there, not enough blood supply to keep the baby going.

This will be my last pregnancy so I'm not going to have the surgery to correct it. I think that will be traumatic and takes 3 ops to correct fully

purpleviolet1 · 08/03/2017 15:54

Oh I see. Makes sense to not have it if this is your last baby. Good to hear it's implanted in a better place.

My baby is breech currently and I did wonder if it was to do with shape of womb etc but they've never mentioned anything at any scans.

AmyB1986 · 08/03/2017 15:56

They never mentioned anything at my scans either. During my csection the surgeon stuck her arm in there and felt it!

I tried everything to get mine to turn. Was scrubbing the kitchen floor on my hands and knees 4 times a day, rocking on my hands and knees the lot

INeedNewShoes · 08/03/2017 16:13

My kitchen floor will be delighted if I start scrubbing it. Even four times a month would be an improvement on the current status Blush I have read though that this sort of housework is why so few babies used to be breech. When women were all housewives there were fewer breech babies because women spent their days doing more physical chores than we do nowadays.

AmyB1986 · 08/03/2017 16:28

Newshoes that is very true! lol @ the kitchen floor. Mine hasn't seen a scrubbing brush since I was 39 weeks pregnant with dd2 7 years ago! Obviously I do mop it 😂

MrsK8541 · 08/03/2017 17:35

Hello I'm just dropping by from the last thread. I'm now 12+5 and had my scan where all looks good. I'm still petrified of miscarrying this little bubba Sad

Corrinax · 08/03/2017 17:37

Congratulations on the good news 😊 im going to hold out till my 12 weeks scan on 3rd april eeeeek

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 08/03/2017 18:45

amy and say glad you both had good results today.

olivers re the headaches make sure you are drinking plenty of water, sounds obvious but I've had to considerably increase my water intake to stave of dehydration headaches. And I already drank a lot anyway.

Came home from work early today as was so exhausted and feeling lightheaded and woozy. Think am just wiped out from this cold and general pregnancy tiredness. Going to take tomorrow off and see Dr about the breathlessness and pounding heartbeat too.

On a plus note am feeling lots of regular movements now Smile

littlepooch · 08/03/2017 18:59

Congratulations on the good scans and results! I have had an awful few days, it turns out i have HG and am severely dehydrated so had to go to hospital. I have never felt so ill in my life and I'm feel8ng quite depressed today. I can't do anything and I have no idea how I'm going to look after 15m old dd tomorrow and Friday alone.

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 08/03/2017 20:22

Oh pooch that sounds horrible. Is there anyone who could help out at all?
Hope you recover soon.

SayItIsntSo1 · 08/03/2017 20:54

Congratulations on your scan Mrsk. I can completely understand why you still feel scared of mc. I don't think it ever goes away.

7 more days until my next scan and then I am determined to be more excited. Just want to see baby is still ok in there. DH is bouncing around after today's good news, but I still don't want to get carried away counting our chickens too soon.

Little sorry to hear you're unwell. Is there anyone that can help you for a few days?

Alb how are you getting on today?

user1489006363 · 08/03/2017 21:05

I'm 13 weeks today and going for my scan tomorrow. I've had two silent miscarriages before and I'm so scared tomorrow will be bad news. I had no inclination anything was wrong on both previous occasions. Have had horrendous ms with each pregency and all the other pregnancy symptoms. I'm finding it hard to talk about with friends because I just don't want this pregnany to have a sad ending. I am blessed with one child. Just looking for some support. Thanks

llemma · 08/03/2017 21:27

I know exactly how you feel about talking to your friends, i'm 17 weeks now and my partner has to twist my arm about telling people. Fingers crossed for a good scan tomorrow, i'll be thinking of you xx

XxBecxX · 09/03/2017 08:36

Well done on the positive scans!!!

Purple when a baby makes its way down the birth canal it gets squished and squashed and all the excess fluid and muscus in the lungs gets pushed out, when you have a c-section obviously that doesn't happen and the baby can be quite chesty/flemmy, as far as I'm aware it's not a breathing issue more of a mucasy thing.
That in itself can be quite nasty for a tiny baby, bringing up excess flem/fluid.
I don't think it's a given that it will happen thou as I've only witnessed it once and I've had many friends go thru sections.
If you tell the doc how much pain your in with your scar tissue and say you want the 38wks they will listen to you xxx

To the new ladies we never told anyone other than my best friend this time round until 20weeks.
I felt like I wanted to protect myself and kept it a secret, not sure if this was the right thing to do but it felt right for me x
