Lolly i read somewhere recently that eating a banana before bed can help with restless legs. Not sure of it's true or not. I feel your pain, as i started with it last time. X

Bear2014 · 22/03/2017 20:08

Oh Lolly that sounds like no fun! I've heard the banana thing too. I know the Clipper sleep tea is safe to have abs my friend swore by it to help her sleep deeper so maybe worth a go? Hope it passes soon xx

Bear2014 · 22/03/2017 20:10

I don't feel a lot bigger but according to other people I am! Next scan is beginning of April 👍

RafflesMaidenSister · 23/03/2017 12:10

So now have all my test results back from the hospital and there is nothing wrong with me. Apparently it is round ligament pain. I am so embarrassed! I don't think i'm being wimpy but how humiliating. Something other women cope with easily has had me on morphine. I'm currently in bed at my mum's (working at the same time - just comfier to have legs stretched out and easiest like this) and think I should just shake it off, but I took my dogs down to the end of the road last night and came back nearly on all fours with the pain, so don't think that's viable. Going to try some gentle stretching as recommended by the wisdom of the internet in a little bit to see if that helps (or like all other recommendations to date, nearly kills me).

Bear2014 · 23/03/2017 13:49

Oof, Raffles! Don't feel bad, pain is pain and it's perfectly valid... what a relief though, that's great xx

FraggleRock77 · 23/03/2017 14:41

Raffles, don't feel that way. Everyone's tolerance of pain is very different. It's very real for you. Keep asking for help if it's hurting x

MrsCrabtree · 23/03/2017 17:41

Raffles, entirely possible your pains are worse than everyone else's and you're just unlucky! Poor you. Hope they ease off soon though and at least you know it's nothing sinister.

And lolly restless legs are miserable, I get them every summer. Hope they ease off for you too soon. Lunges/yoga (seriously!) before bed, cold shower and peppermint lotion is the best I ever managed but still not great.

Looks like there is going to be lots of scan news in early April! Mine is on 6th x

FraggleRock77 · 23/03/2017 19:23

I've got my next MW appointment on Wed next wk (18 Wks). Do you think she will try to find the heart beat if i ask? Would it be too early? Driving myself mad waiting! Even looked at booking a private scan today and then decided against it. Another cervical scan on the 4th April and 20 wk scan on the 12 x

MrsCrabtree · 23/03/2017 22:32

Fraggle I called my midwife liaison prior to going for my 16 week midwife appt to check whether to expect they'll listen to heartbeat or not. It's not too early but I know some trusts have a policy against it. At least if you know one way or the other you can plan accordingly, e.g. Decide to get private scan or whatever. I get the impression that most midwives will try to find a heartbeat if you ask/are anxious and need reassurance. The midwives I've seen so far have been really lovely and understanding that I'm more anxious because of the IVF and the bleeding, and have gone out of their way to reassure me. Maybe I've just been lucky but hopefully not x

FraggleRock77 · 24/03/2017 06:31

Thanks MrsCrab x

RafflesMaidenSister · 24/03/2017 08:36

Fraggle, sure it's not too early as they listened to the heartbeat at my consultant appointment at 15 weeks and on Monday (17 weeks) when I went in with "the pain". Both times they found it very easily so think you should ask if it would make you feel better. It is lovely to know its there!

I've got 2 scans (still don't really know why they're doing the second one) on 4 April. So hopefully lots of good news coming up for all of us. x

Lolly2803 · 24/03/2017 08:44

Hey ladies, sorry I've been quiet. Just haven't had time to check anything but just caught up on the news.
Raffles don't even think about how things effect other women. Everyone is different and has a different tolerance of pain. If it hurts you then it hurts you that's all there is to it! Sounds so uncomfortable though, hope it passes soon for you.

Fraggle I am sure they'll hear the heartbeat for you. They were going to do mine at 16 weeks but then when read it was twins didn't but if it'd been one they def would have done it. And if they don't then just ask and I'm sure they will.

April is a busy and exciting month then for all of us! I'm actually having a cervix check on Tuesday but 24 week scan on the 3rd. Still praying they've grown and are growing well.
Going to the Dr today for my Whooping Cough jab. 22 weeks today!!

Happy Friday ladies! xxxxx

Just booked a reassurance scan for tomorrow. Being a pyscho but just can't rest! Hormones are all over the place!

Lolly2803 · 24/03/2017 09:39

If it makes you feel better Fraggle then go for it. Why not?! It's not going to do any harm and will make you feel better so enjoy it. I'm sure all is ok xxx

Bear2014 · 24/03/2017 13:00

Go for it Fraggle! We're the queens of extra scans on here, you won't get any arguments from us Grin

How are your legs doing Lolly?

Lolly2803 · 24/03/2017 13:29

They are very heavy and tired. Feel like I've been to the gym every night this week. But I didn't cry last night so that's progress!

Had my whooping cough jab today. Very much looking forward to the weekend. My SIL has her 20 wk scan today and is having a gender reveal thing on Sunday!

OP posts:
Lolly2803 · 24/03/2017 20:28

Not been a good day today. My brother and SIL had the 20 wk scan today and the baby (a boy) has spina bifida. But it looks to be quiet severe. The spine hasn't fused properly and it's grown out of the neck or something and looks like it also has fluid on the brain. We are all devastated of course.

They have to go back next week to see the Dr and discuss options but the baby it looks like if it survived wouldn't have much of a life so I think they won't be continuing the pregnancy. Not sure what the options or next steps are but just so so so upset for them.

MrsCrabtree · 24/03/2017 20:43

Oh my god lolly, that's awful. So awful. Your poor brother and SIL. Don't even know what to say except thinking of you all Sad xxx

Lolly2803 · 25/03/2017 06:59

Yep we are all devastated for them. The lady doing the scan said it was very rare and she had seen it like this only about 7 times in her 21 year career.
My brother and SIL are totally heartbroken and so are we. Saw them yesterday and just can't imagine how they must feel. Been awake in the night can't stop thinking about them. I'm just so so sad for them.

Not sure what the process is but they will find out next week. Sorry if this is upsetting for anyone and I don't want to worry anyone.

RafflesMaidenSister · 25/03/2017 07:35

Lolly, how terrible. Your poor family and poor baby. Xxx

FraggleRock77 · 25/03/2017 08:19

Just devastating! Can't even begin to imagine! Sending thoughts x

Blueroses99 · 25/03/2017 14:56

And to you, Lolly! Really hope you're all bearing up as well as can be expected, if that's even possible. I totally forgot it was Mothers day for ages, DD gave us her card after nursery on Thursday and our mums are both on hols so not doing anything. I'm happy it's finally sunny though Smile
