Bear hang in there, not long to go. I'm keeping everything crossable crossed all is ok today. And wow a 9.5lber!!! That must have been one snug, contented baby in there!

Elles when did you start showing? Did your clinic or consultant check your cervix at any of your scans? My clinic mentioned I should ask them to check going forward. Everything looked fine so far but said it's something to watch with twins.

Feeling a bit perkier after some sleep and a bowl of porridge big enough for goldilocks and the three bears!!!

bear my epau are amazing. I had a bleed around the 5 week mark. I was straight in scanned then on to see a nurse.

lolly I don't currently have a scan booked. I'm waiting for my 12 weeks one to come through so some time in the next 3 weeks hopefully.

I've spent the last two hours asleep and woke up feeling heavy!

Lolly2803 · 09/01/2017 16:06

Bear thinking of you and hope everything is ok. xxx

Mistletoe I think that's the problem with living in London sometimes. The whole process of having DD and everything that's come since, I have always had to wait around for excessive lengths of time, then always felt rushed when I was seen. Nothing wrong with the clinical care, but it's glaringly obvious the services are bursting at the seams.

Scan went well, all looking normal for 9+1 and little bean was wriggling around nicely. They were very thorough, did external and internal scans and talked everything over in loads of detail. Feeling very relieved, which will probably be short lived, but worth every penny in the meantime ;o)

Lolly2803 · 09/01/2017 16:38

Wahoo!!!! Fantastic news Bear! When I went on Friday the twins were moving so much and the Dr said that was a great sign! Sooo pleased for you. Hope you can relax a bit now and get the ball rolling with GP etc. How is OH doing?

Hope it comes through soon Mistletoe. Mine is two weeks tomorrow and very much counting down! I've been working from home today and feeling so so so sick.

OP posts:
Bear2014 · 09/01/2017 16:43

Thanks Lolly! I pretty much couldn't believe it when she said all ok - ever the optimist ;o) Sorry you're feeling so sick. It should ease off in the next couple of weeks but it's bound to hit you hard with 2 of the little buggers in there.

OH is good, she basically despairs at me because I'm still a bit tense about the whole thing but I'll undoubtedly be more relaxed for the rest of this week, which is important because the in laws are coming on Saturday and they have a tendency to wind me up - ha ha

Hopefully these 12 week scans will roll around before we know it, everyone! xx

Lolly2803 · 09/01/2017 16:50

Well you need to start being optimistic now! I've started a bit although I think once I get my NIPT results back that might help again. Have you decided if you're going to have one?
Yes here's hoping time picks up speed for all of us!!

OP posts:
Bear2014 · 09/01/2017 16:54

I know - it's weird because I was So, so optimistic with DD, no anxiety at all. We still didn't tell a soul until 12 weeks and didn't put it on facebook until 20. This time, I feel like everyone and their auntie knows and I still can't make it real in my head - totally bizarre. After 12 weeks, we'll start planning to an extent but we won't tell DD til ages after.

We're going to see when the 12 week scan falls. The one good thing about Kings is that they give you the Harmony test if you come back high risk, so seems a bit silly to pay for it but if my scan is 13+ weeks I'll use that as an excuse to go private again Grin

Bear2014 · 09/01/2017 16:59

Will you find out the sex of the babies with these results then Lolly?

Lolly2803 · 09/01/2017 16:59

Ah that's really good that they do that. I'm glad the clinic offered it as it was def an excuse for me to have another scan. Couldn't have gone from 9-13 weeks that's for sure!
How you're feeling is totally understandable after your loss before. But all is well so far so just enjoy it. I keep saying this could be my only pregnancy so I want to try and enjoy it. You should too as it could be your last right?I think I will when I can tell people and have got through the scan. Just praying the NIPT results are ok....

OP posts:
Bear2014 · 09/01/2017 17:01

You're so young, it would be unlucky if they weren't ok for sure.

Oh definitely this will be my last pregnancy. Even if it ended now I don't think we could go there again.

Lolly2803 · 09/01/2017 17:09

I know it's just hard to get my head around having some good luck!!
No talk of it going wrong Bear. All is well so that gives you 48 hours worry free at least!! Haha.

Mrscrabtree · 09/01/2017 17:12

Fabulous news on the scan Bear!! Go little bean! And good luck for the inlaws...

Thanks for all the reassurance as well, it does really help to hear stories of people who've not been sick.

Glad you're feeling good Ellesbelles. My next scan is at 10 weeks private along with the NIPT so just hanging on til then.

Mistletoe sorry to hear you're feeling so stressed. Sounds understandable how you're feeling but good that you're off to your GP for some support.

Lolly hope you're feeling a bit less sick now! Here's to the next two weeks flying by...

Blueroses99 · 09/01/2017 17:23

Great news Bear, really pleased to hear the scan went well.

Bear2014 · 09/01/2017 18:38

Thank you Blue Hope all is well with you xx

RafflesMaidenSister · 09/01/2017 18:58

Hi - wanted to pop on this thread too. I'm 7 weeks today (first scan last week - a little bit small, as some of you know) and I'm back a week on Wednesday to have another scan. Just wanted to offer support and hear everyone else's stories so that I know I'm not completely insane.
Hope it keeps going really well for all of you and fingers crossed that we'll be hearing lots of success stories this year. xxx

ellesbellesxxx · 09/01/2017 20:47

Bear so pleased to hear scan went well :) xx

Raffles, keeping everything x for you for next few days xx

Lolly no one has checked cervix so far so am really glad you said that.. seeing consultant in three weeks so will ask!

Xx

ellesbellesxxx · 09/01/2017 20:48

Mistletoe am hoping next cOuple of weeks races by x

ellesbellesxxx · 09/01/2017 21:09

OK ladies, I had some anxiety of my own tonight as kept getting stomach cramps.
My attentive worried husband made me a hot chocolate as I fancied one before bed and hoped it would relax me so I could sleep.
It was bloody wind. I am a disgrace.
But.. I feel so much better now!!!

Lolly2803 · 09/01/2017 21:18

Elles how strange I have been feeling a bit weird tonight too! I had one cramp and then I've had some pinches which I've had off and on for the last few weeks. But for some reason tonight I've just been a bit worried! I need a slap! I think it's because I'm tired, irritable and queasy I've just worked myself up. We're also looking into moving and I'm worried we are planning too much and it's all going to go wrong if we plan! Maybe I need two slaps!!

Yes do ask about the cervix check. It was first time they'd mentioned it and she said don't worry it looks fine now but one for them to watch. I'll be asking at my 12wk scan as well!!

Hi Raffles! When I went for my viability scan at 7+2 I remember them saying it was really hard to get an accurate measurement as they are teeny and curled up a bit. Hopefully at your next scan it'll be easier and they'll have had a spirt! xxx

OP posts:
Bear2014 · 09/01/2017 21:19

Hi Raffles - welcome! Fingers crossed with next scan, hopefully it's just curled up. Apparently it's hard to get accurate measurements at that stage.

Ellesbells - haha the wind can be a killer. Are you on Cyclogest by any chance? Hideous drug. I get loads of cramps, all the stretching etc I guess. but it's still really disconcerting isn't it xx

Bear2014 · 09/01/2017 21:21

Lolly - cross post! Hope you're ok, sure it's just one of them shifting around in there xx

ellesbellesxxx · 09/01/2017 21:49

Totally disconcerting! Ican't believe how quickly my body has changed.. the linea nigra (which I didn't even know was a thing!) has faintly appeared, cramps,hugeness... it's a weird and wonderful time!

I haven't actually been taking any pessaries since 9 weeks (utragestan) but it sounds like some of you ladies still are? Funny how each clinic is so different!

Oh Lolly it's so hard.. I go from euphoric to terrified in the space of 5 minutes at the moment... moving house wow?! We discussed it briefly but as it won't be worth me going back to my teaching job, I will be doing Some self employed tuition etc but decided not to push ourselves just yet xxxx

Lolly2803 · 09/01/2017 21:55

Yer we have a lovely place and it could work with one but not with two really. Would be really tough! I'm the same, I go from feeling like the luckiest, happiest girl in the world to a terrified, nervous wreck! That's probably why I'm so tired!! Haha.
Aw getting the bump must be so exciting. I can't decide if I have anything yet. In the morning it looks fine but as the day goes on and I eat it does stick out a bit! My boobs are huge though and SO veiny I look like an atlas!

I'm still on Bear's favourite - cyclogest! 4 a day but being wheened off them from Sat! Although the clinic said I should stay on 2 a day until 37 weeks to help prevent premature labour. So won't be getting rid of them completely but 2 is SO much better than 4. And I'm also coming off the tablets, patches and injections soon too - that will be amazing!! And also slightly scary. Hope my body is up to the job!!! xxx

OP posts:
Mrscrabtree · 10/01/2017 15:58

Afternoon all - update, I've caved and booked another scan for Friday. I do feel less anxious now though so I'm glad I did. Also have my booking in appt with midwife next week and then the 10 week scan the week after so hopefully that will all keep me going assuming things all progressing.

Hope you're all having a good day and those of you with bumps already are enjoying them!! X
