When are you stopping the clexane? My friend who had twins this year showed me her bruised belly, it was a sad sight!

Blueroses99 · 12/01/2017 11:44

Progesterone after 12w is to strengthen the cervix. Before, it's to support the pregnancy as the body doesn't naturally create enough after eggs are untimely ripped from the follicles that create them. Different clinics do have different advice for when to stop though which is confusing. I expect I'll be taking them all the way through but will wait to see what I'm told.

Bear my CCG want booking in appts to be between 8 and 9+6 so probably didn't want to delay for you!

Lolly all those injections!

Lolly2803 · 12/01/2017 11:51

Ah didn't realise that Blue.
Yes i know! It's been two a day for about 2 months now I think. Apart from the two weeks where they were out of stock of my 40mg clexane so I had to have 2 x 20mg instead. So I had to stab myself twice so three times a day in total!

Makes sense why they're cramming me in then, as I'll be 9+6. The booking in appt was such a fat waste of time last time as I MC literally two days later. But in their admin heads they probably don't really care.

It's a tricky one for me as not only are my pregnancies donor pregnancies which confuses and intrigues midwives in equal measures, I have high-risk elements due to previous complicated C-section etc so it takes forever to discuss everything. Hopefully it won't all be for nothing this time though. xx

Lolly2803 · 12/01/2017 12:13

Bear I'm sure it will be absolutely fine this time. All well so far so lots to be positive about!
Feeling so sick today just want to go home and lie down. Might try and slip away after lunch.

Go home if you can Lolly.

I'm in for an hour wait...

Bear2014 · 12/01/2017 13:12

Definitely try and go home. Bleurgh. Really hope it eases off soon for you xx

Blueroses99 · 12/01/2017 14:10

Still waiting... (appt was scheduled for 12.45)

Bear2014 · 12/01/2017 14:41

FFS Blue. I hope you at least have a good book. The amount of waiting around involved is just ridiculous isn't it. Hope you get in soon!

mistletoeprickles · 12/01/2017 15:08

Hi ladies

lolly hope you've manages to escape work and get some rest.

bear hope you get seen soon.

mrscrabb how you doing today?

I'm also on cyclocest and it's a shit. I was having a little trouble with it hurting the back door so one evening popped it in the front and sudo creamed the back, seemed to help.

I has my midwife booking appointment today. All was fine and we're having a home visit next week

Blueroses99 · 12/01/2017 16:48

I'm getting a stitch! 😊

The consultant is lovely (and actually was in the delivery room with me before, though I don't remember as it happened so quickly). She had read the notes but asked me to describe what happened in the fateful day and came to the conclusion that it was probably caused by an incompetent cervix. She offered me 2 options, stitch or monitoring, I chose stitch and she agreed. She also encouraged me to see the other consultant on Monday for a second opinion as he would be the one doing the stitch and they would schedule it after my 12w scan.

The downside to dealing with this lovely consultant is that I also need to deal with her not so lovely midwife that gave me totally opposite messages and caused the stress in the first place. She said it was probably nothing to do with my cervix and that I wouldn't be seen by the specialist clinic if I insisted on seeing the other consultant. (There's a moral of the story here somewhere)

As a bonus I got to see baby again as consultant wanted to an ultrasound. I've got a wriggler! And if I have the stitch I don't need Cyclogest!

Blueroses99 · 12/01/2017 16:50

Mistletoe a home visit? Hmm

Lolly hope you are feeling better.

Lolly2803 · 12/01/2017 17:04

Wahoo well done Blue!! What a relief. Acre the midwife for now. Just focus on getting that stitch done and then figure out the rest afterwards.

I'm ok. Alright for now but really tired today. Stayed at work as couldn't think of an excuse to leave! Going to end up soaked by the time I get home. Am leaving soon then will have a nice hot shower and plant myself on the sofa for the evening I think!! xxx

Bear2014 · 12/01/2017 17:25

Great to hear that, Blue! Ignore the midwife, the consultant out-ranks her on this Grin

Yep Lolly I am completely drenched. At least when you tell work, they will look out for you and give you some slack xx

mistletoeprickles · 12/01/2017 17:29

All good news blue

Yes in my area they do a home visit, it's a quick book in and then a home visit. I guess it's to have an insight in people's lives. I had one with my daughter too

Lolly2803 · 12/01/2017 20:39

Argh I'm feeling so blurgh tonight. Can't stop feeling sick. My back is so sore at my injection sites and I think I've got cramps. Or not cramps but pinches and weird twinges. Is that normal? I'm tired and irritable as well so think I'm going to take myself to bed already. I'm even annoying myself so good job DH is away tonight!!

Bear2014 · 12/01/2017 22:14

Hope you're ok Lolly! I had weird, uncomfortable sensations on and off my whole pregnancy with DD so i'm sure it's fine - especially with 2! Xx

Mrscrabtree · 12/01/2017 22:42

Evening everyone. Sorry you're not feel great Lolly, hope you get some rest. I feel for you all still taking progesterone and injections, sounds tough.

Great news on the stitch, blueroses, and seeing the baby! Hope you're alright Bear and mistletoe and Raffles?

I took the day off today and have just been resting. Bleeding has eased somewhat but still having weird abdominal pains, not really cramps now. Feeling generally unwell Sad Have the private scan tomorrow that we booked before this happened so still going to that. Keeping fingers crossed xxx

Lolly2803 · 13/01/2017 00:16

Hi ladies, can't believe I'm writing this. Woke up to a gush of bright red blood. DH away so called the NHS hotline as didn't know what to do. They are sending an ambulance for me and just waiting now. My parents are on the way over. I'm so so terrified. I knew this was all too good to be true.
