Hi everyone,

I read on the Baby centre website that c70% of couple who can conceive naturally will do so in 6 months. My husband and I have been trying for 7 months with no luck and I think I'm about to find out that we've not conceived this month. A lot of our friends are getting pregnant at the moment and it's just not happening for us. How long did it take you to conceive? Please don't feel bad about responding if you got pregnant v quick, I just want to hear from other people!

Thanks for any responses!

We conceived on our 5th cycle off the pill. I was 34. I'm about to start ttc #2 at age 36 so prepared for it potentially taking longer this time.

poisonedbypen · 05/12/2016 22:45

8th cycle for number one. Straight away for the next 4 pregnancies.

Passthecake30 · 05/12/2016 22:49

6th cycle for no 1. 3rd for no. 2

raviolidreaming · 05/12/2016 22:55

17 months all in, probably 12 months actively trying.

(I am never having sex again - we've had a lifetime's worth now!)

sweetchilli77 · 05/12/2016 22:55

CrazyGreyhoundLady · 05/12/2016 22:58

Around 8 months first time.
Second was 17 months, wasn't expecting to be pregnant when it finally happened!

Lookinatu · 05/12/2016 23:09

halfbuffy · 05/12/2016 23:17

Sprog19 · 05/12/2016 23:18

1st pregnancy - 1 month but m/c at 7 weeks
2nd pregnancy - 2 months, m/c at 17 weeks
3rd pregnancy - 4 months - DS1
4th pregnancy - 2 months - DS2

Adelie0404 · 05/12/2016 23:22

Both babies - 1st month of trying I know i was so lucky.
Husband sorely disappointed - anticipated lots of sex but morning sickness put an end to it for a bit!

ImYourMama · 05/12/2016 23:42

1 month

sotiredbutworthit · 05/12/2016 23:42

Just over 2 years with the first and 2 months with the second!

theeyeofthetigerbread · 05/12/2016 23:49

7 years. Worth the wait, though. She's gorgeous.

dragbaby · 05/12/2016 23:50

1st pregnancy 2 months but this one 6 months

DramaAlpaca · 05/12/2016 23:50

DC1 - 11 months
DC2 - 1 month
DC3 - 4 months

Bubblemumma1 · 05/12/2016 23:53

Conceived in the first cycle for both our children. I was breastfeeding when we conceived DC2 and had spent months trying to track my cycle before we TTC.

CheerfulYank · 05/12/2016 23:53

Basically the first shot with all three (wish I made money as easily as I do babies Wink) but we have good friends who tried for over three years and had two miscarriages and now have a 6, 4, and 2 year old. :) It just started happening!

Stacey46 · 06/12/2016 00:00

It took 2 years to conceive our baby boy but he was our 4th pregnancy. Xx

GinIsIn · 06/12/2016 08:45

A month or two? A lot quicker than we were expecting so it was a bit of a shock!

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 06/12/2016 09:04

First month with both.

But I have friends who were trying for a long time before getting pregnant, and all now either have had babies or are pregnant.

TopKittyKat · 06/12/2016 09:05

18 months for us. I'm 36 and we found out DH had issues with his sperm. Despite that we managed to conceive naturally, so there is hope.

Like Ravioli I feel like we've had our lifetime's worth of sex now! (DH doesn't agree!)

Good luck OP!

Blackbird82 · 06/12/2016 09:09

About 6 months. With hindsight I think we were doing it on the wrong days, I though I knew when I was ovulating. As soon as we had a month of doing it every other day, I conceived.

FlatWhiteAddict · 06/12/2016 09:14

A year for us - thought it would never happen.

Aliveinwanderland · 06/12/2016 09:15

2 years. No medical reason why it took so long.
