Hi everyone,

I read on the Baby centre website that c70% of couple who can conceive naturally will do so in 6 months. My husband and I have been trying for 7 months with no luck and I think I'm about to find out that we've not conceived this month. A lot of our friends are getting pregnant at the moment and it's just not happening for us. How long did it take you to conceive? Please don't feel bad about responding if you got pregnant v quick, I just want to hear from other people!

Thanks for any responses!

10 months/12 cycles for DD at age 32... Will prob start TTC again next year when I will be 34.

nervoussam · 08/12/2016 12:19

20 months for us, nothing to worry about if you're under 12 months. If its taking longer, take a trip to your GP just to be sure.

Timing is everything though!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 08/12/2016 12:32

Pg1: 6 months NTNP, MMC 13w
Pg2: 1st month, DD
Pg3: 1st month, MMC 11w
Pg4: 2 months after MMC, MC 5w
Pg5: 1 month after last MC (6 months after starting TTC#2), DS

I get pregnant easily but am rubbish at staying pregnant. Everyone is different. Good luck OP

QuilliamCakespeare · 08/12/2016 12:39

1 month and 5 months.

lilyborderterrier · 08/12/2016 12:47

1st one straight away was 34, trying for our 2nd one now aged 38, on 5th month of trying.

BertieBotts · 08/12/2016 12:51

If you are over 35, advice is to seek medical advice after 6 months of trying.

Under 35 it's a year.

nervoussam · 08/12/2016 12:52

Didn't realise the OP was over 35 sorry

purplefizz26 · 08/12/2016 13:00

18 months with first child, but I have PCOS.

Surprisingly only 5 months with DC2.

Trulyamnearanear · 08/12/2016 13:03

3 pg (1 m/c). 2nd cycle every time. My mother says its genetic (no evidence)

PickleSarnie · 08/12/2016 13:04

About 4 minutes.

UnoriginalNN · 08/12/2016 13:10

Can't remember for DD1. It wasn't quick. This pregnancy took at least 18 months and one miscarriage.

MINIgiraffe · 09/12/2016 04:08

About two go's I think!

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/12/2016 05:16

10yrs ttc and 5 private ivf

What age are you?

If under 35 doctor 99% won't do anything for a year

Then will start investigations like amh - fsh - sperm test

TBH 7mths really isn't long at all tho obv every month brings disappointment

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 09/12/2016 08:01

2 years 11 months, on our third round of IVF. Unexplained infertility - we're both healthy, not overweight, I ovulate regularly, he makes good sperm. Just unlucky I guess.

Suzie2287 · 09/12/2016 08:59

We were very lucky and got pregnant first month of trying. good luck to you! X

OhTheRoses · 09/12/2016 09:05

Like a pp Pg every time have had unprotected sex but not great at hanging on to them. Two DC, 5 pgs that reached 2nd trimester Sad

Hyland · 09/12/2016 09:07

4 and a half years

ocelot41 · 09/12/2016 09:08

Just over a year

Inthenick · 09/12/2016 09:09

DS was a honeymoon baby so first month trying. DD1 was first month and DD2 was 1st month. We've been very lucky. And so far no misses which I think is quite unusual. I'm surrounded by people who did IVF and am desperate for my dsis to get pregnant. She had a miscarriage 3 yrs ago now and no luck since. I wish nobody had to wait and suffer this awful disappointment.

Augustwedding · 09/12/2016 09:11

1 month

BembaNugget · 09/12/2016 11:24

It took me 5 months to fall pregnant with my little one. I'm only four weeks gone though so it's still early days for us!

I hope you manage to fall pregnant soon :)

Gooseygoosey12345 · 09/12/2016 13:49

I conceived quickly but for some people it can take years. Give it a couple more months then see your GP if you've had no success. Don't worry yourself, it could well be nothing. Just enjoy the time before you fall pregnant and make sure you're looking after yourself :)

purpleviolet1 · 09/12/2016 13:55

First cycle for no 1 (mc), second cycle for no 2 (mc), second cycle for no 3 (currently 24 weeks pregnant)

I think it depends on what contraception was used before hand, I had been off the pill for about 3 years and only took the pill for a year anyway each time I've taken it. Used condoms after the pill.

Also I took a lot of supplements before ttc for other health issues but believe that they helped put my body in a better state. The fish oils and vitamin D especially help to balance hormones.

DizzyNorthernBird · 09/12/2016 18:00

Started in December 2014 then conceived naturally in September. I'd had a hsg earlier on that month. I'm convinced that's the only reason I fell pregnant although I was told my tubes were clear....

FlaminFlamingo99 · 09/12/2016 20:36

Conceived on my 10th cycle - coincidentally it was the same month I became quite despondent with TTC and considered having a break then I luckily got my first BFP.
