Hi again, have been abasant for a while, me and DH opened our own business at the weekend so we've been crazily busy! 13+1 today, got my 12 weeks scan tomorrow morning and then booking in appointment in the afternoon. It will be my 4th scan this pregnancy but I'm so nervous the baby will have died!

Congratulations on the scans rececca and catlady

Hope everyone else is ok, will read back properly and catch up now

NetflixandBill · 14/12/2016 17:19

Hi everyone

8 week scan today any everything looks great. She actually put me ahead two days to 8+2. Heartbeat and evetything looking strong.

They won't see me again until 12 w so not sure how long this reassurance will last but it was lively

NetflixandBill · 14/12/2016 17:19

Sorry - fat fingers!

...lovely to walk out of there having had good news!

Eeeek

Rebeccaj1985 · 14/12/2016 17:36

Alb, that's exactly how I felt before and as I was waiting for my scan today I had convinced myself infact but I was wrong and everything seems fine. I know it's easier said than done but think positive I know how hard it is believe me, I'm the first to give advice but as soon as there's something in my head I struggle to think of anything else

Netflix I'm 9+2 and said to my partner after my scan today that I wonder how long it will take for me to worry about something else cos the reassurance from a scan doesn't last long... I think I'm going to take 1 day at a time and hope everything goes well X

MoonlightMojitos · 14/12/2016 18:01

Congrats on the scan rebecca and netflix!

My doppler came today and I just heard the heartbeat

XxBecxX · 14/12/2016 19:29

That's really good news girls on the scans girls xxx

Ace news on the doppler moon, isn't it amazing how good it is to get that fast little noise!
Most likely the baby will be upside so the majority of him will be in the top space, or the pasties lolol
Now I've been feeling him most days I haven't used mine for a while but I think it's an amazing little instrument xxxx

XxBecxX · 14/12/2016 19:31

Ordered my MamAroo the other day and I'm excited for having a peek at that when it arrives lol
I'll have to borrow a small child to test it out lol

Catlady100 · 15/12/2016 19:10

Congrats rebecca and netflix!! Grin

Had my harmony back and low risk for everything - phew! And fuzzy was right - it's a girl!

Still feeling fairly anxious and not really keen to tell people as I feel like that's when it will all go wrong but better than I did!

Cat x

fuzzywuzzy · 15/12/2016 19:31

Aww catlady congratulations, take things slowly and don't think too far ahead. Today everything is perfect and your pregnant and it's brilliant. Hold on to that.

I didn't manage to get a picture of baby in full profile at me 12week scan couldn't really see the nub. I'm going to find out at the 20 week scan hopefully.

Hope everyone is having uneventful times.

Bec I had to Google mamaroo is it the bouncer/cradle? Tell us what you think of it when it arrives please? I'm making a list of baby stuff. Not going to buy to right at the end I think too scared.

XxBecxX · 16/12/2016 08:42

That's awesome news cat, and a little princess aswell xxxx

Fuzzy it's supposed to be the new swing, it's spandangly lol you can you use your phone to operate it and play music etc
I ordered from justkidthings.co.uk and that was by far the best price.

I've bought or ordered everything I need, I'm trying to be 100% positive and excited as having all the stuff and being prepared would be the absolute least of my problems should something not go to plan.
I'm just really getting excited now 😍😍 18weeks left to go lol don't know how I'm going to contain myself lol 😂
He's got more outfits than the other kids combined so far lol

XxBecxX · 16/12/2016 08:45

There's a pic, you can get it in lovely bright colours but I'm more of a traditionalist, there wasn't a baby blue option so I plumped for the grey xx

knorrig · 16/12/2016 12:55

Hey all,
Thanks on all the congrats from my scan. I don't feel as elated as I wanted to after having it - I think it's because the doc said afterwards how there is still a risk of mc - but my OH did reassure me saying that's a risk for everybody with every pregnancy.
And I feel nervous about having to go back for another scan on Tuesday for measurements but have read that's normal and a lot of people get called back. I just need to chill out now!! But obvs still scared until nuchal tests etc are done.

Congrats to everybody else on scans you've had - it is a lovely surreal experience to see baby in there moving around isn't it. My OH doesn't understand how I couldn't feel it as it was practically doing somersaults!

Catlady how did you find out it was a girl before the 20 week scan?

Alb hope your scan went well yestreday

jpeg28 · 16/12/2016 15:09

Congrats everyone on positive scans!

knorrig it is so hard staying positive but every positive scan reduces your risk. I had 3 scans in the first few weeks and felt just like you do. I was still convinced I would miscarry. Hope your next scan goes well. I was called back just like you were so it's completely normal.

Finally finished school! Now for the crazy two weeks of xmas! Off to a wedding now (wedding tomorrow!) and dreading the busy roads... OH thinks it will take 7 hours to do a 3 hour journey?! It better not! We have a two day babymoon planned for next week which I'm looking forward to then the usual driving here there and everywhere to see family for xmas! Should probably be more relaxing but as always it's not!!

Catlady100 · 16/12/2016 15:13

Hi knorrig - I know how you feel about not feeling as excited as you expect 😢

I had the harmony test which looks at fetal DNA in your blood so is able to give a more accurate risk of chromosomal problems that the NHS screening which looks at a series of soft markers. Because they are looking at DNA they can also tell the sex - an added bonus. I had it because I'm 37 so knew if likely be higher risk on the NHS one anyway (and wanted to avoid the anxiety).

Alb1 · 16/12/2016 19:00

12 week scan went well yesterday, such a relief! Am 13+5 now, we're still not telling people until after the 20 week scan though, there is no 'safe point' in this pregnancy for us with DD being stillborn so late on, but we just want to keep it our little secret for a little longer before everyone starts putting all their worries about the pregnancy on us.

jpeg sounds like a busy few weeks but the babymoon sounds fun!

doleritedinosaur · 16/12/2016 21:52

Glad the scans went well Alb and knorrig & netflix & rebecca*

knorrig I actually felt the same after my 12 week one, 20 weeks was more relief. Telling people did make it a bit hard but then within a few weeks had movement and proper bump which helped.

Hope you have a lovely babymoon jpeg and traffic at least where we are is a nightmare at the moment so good luck tomorrow!

I'm 29+1 now, had Anti D, bloods and heartbeat today which midwife said was a "boy" beat haha. I have to keep an eye on hands for itchiness as they're currently red and cracked. Need to get more iron tomorrow as well as been light headed all week, even lying/sitting down. Baby also kicked the midwife, really does not like things on the bump.

Also still a big fan of the yoga, I'm not as stiff as I was with DS and baby's butt is in my ribs with only slight discomfort.
My bump also dropped yesterday but apparently its common in subsequent pregnancies.

Had some intense braxton hicks this week too, even drinking over 2.5 litres a day and trying to rest up with a toddler.

I did the biggest thing with my anxiety and ordered something for the baby, a jojo jacket from facebook but its gorgeous and is in amazing condition. I already have everything from DS, swing, moses basket, so many baby gros but I just did not feel ready to get something purposely for this baby.

Just a word of warning for people too, only order from Mothercare if you absolutely have to. Ordered DS a mattress for his toddler bed over a month ago. First one never arrived. Second one was apparently delivered and signed for by me, despite the tracking saying no signature and I went through local Yodel depot myself to try and hunt it down. It was delivered to one of OH's regulars at work, who took the delivery slip in to try and find the address. Yodel were more annoyed that Mothercare were rude to them than about me saying about their driver. Motherecare have ignored a complaint email so far.
Stores are fine just not the website and their sale online, never get the full order.

Okay so this is long. Hope everyone is okay and has a good weekend.

NetflixandBill · 17/12/2016 13:08

Great news for all the positive scans!

Finished for Christmas yesterday so i'm hoping this will make the next few weeks go nice and quickly towards 12 week scan. At least if they drag i'll feel well rested!

Currently trying to decide which family members to tell over xmas. I'll have to let at least my mum know so that i can have an accomplice in my fake drinking! I'm minded to pretend that i'm not as far on as i am though and not mention that i have had a scan, just to avoid her getting too excited and invested. Or do you think i should just be honest. Would appreciate your opinions!

Whatsername17 · 17/12/2016 15:12

Hi everyone! Congratulations on all of the positive news! I'm 35+1 today and feeling very heavy. I finished work for the Christmas holidays yesterday and I'm just so glad! I go back on the 4th of January for 8 days and finish properly at 39 weeks (unless she comes early!) . We took dd to breakfast with Santa this morning and now I'm relaxing in my onsie watching crappy channel 5 Christmas films whilst dd plays with lego. I might even take a nap!

doleritedinosaur · 17/12/2016 20:54

I've just got back from the fastest hospital trip thankfully.
I had a lot of wetness and feeling drops so went to hospital to get checked out and thankfully everything was okay. It's not the waters but had white blood cells in my sample so waiting until Tuesday to see if I need to take anything.

I was really worked up trying to decide to ring as it was DS's bedtime and OH had word & OH said what would I do if it had been DS so that decided it. Just seemed to be a lot of liquid.
But the midwife said even if its the same thing again then I ring as its better to be no waters than ignore it.

Aw whatser so not long for you at all now. Those crappy channel 5 movies are so good at the moment.

Netflix its up to you if you feel your DM will be supportive or not. I only told a select few who I needed to know before 13 weeks this time, like my OH and friends who would have DS if I needed to go into hospital.

Hope everyone has a good and uneventful evening.

MoonlightMojitos · 17/12/2016 21:44

Oh dino glad you went and got it checked, what a relief that all is ok.

Hope you enjoyed the wedding jpeg.

So jealous of those of you with weeks off now!

I'm only 16 weeks (+3) and have a proper bump now already :/! Not much else to report!

Hope everyone else is well and having a good weekend x

LynseyH · 17/12/2016 22:41

Hello all. So glad there are lots of positive and happy scan news! It's another milestone passed. dino really pleased all was ok in the end, what a scary trip that must have been.
Nothing much to report here. One of my boys has had yet another bug so missed his last 2 days of school, felt sad for him but couldn't send him. Bump is still giving me lots of nudges, even though I read they start to feel less frequent now, one particular movement earlier really took my breath away! Now 32+1 and cannot wait to meet our little one. Pushchair was delivered on Thursday and although I had every intention of leaving it sealed in the box, I'd got it out and set up by Friday morning! It's gorgeous and just can't wait to see her in it. I picked up the first tin of formula today too.
Although I'm planning a home birth, I have read and been told it's still adviseable to pack a hospital bag, one reason being the obvious, I may still need to go to hospital. Second reason, even if I stay home, the midwives like you to have everything to hand and in easy reach (also helps men who aren't great at knowing where things are!).
So that's the last thing on my list of to dos...for now anyway!
So excited that Christmas is just a week away now, how depressing that it's always over so quickly though.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend and not having to brave any shops now! I try my best to avoid going far in the last week, people go crazy and forget they are humans...plus I'm not good at being on my feet much now!
I think for Christmas, a time of happiness and joy, we should all have an updated picture of our bumps?! I'll add mine tomorrow when I can take a fresh one with the actual size of me Smile look forward to seeing everyone else's. Happy holidays everyone!! Xmas Grin

Thanks moonlight and lynsey I'm just glad was sorted and seen in under a hour. Its so hard to know what is going on when there was that much fluid.
Got given my 20 week scan notes which is going to make my midwife's day in Jan as she couldn't properly see what they had said about my placenta online. Plus baby is nearly 90th centile for fundal height.

Hope your boy feels better soon lynsey and in the homebirth book I read they said hospital bag just incase and like you said to have it to hand, also a decent lamp incase they need to do stitches and something like a tea tray which is easy to clean and put instruments on.
You're sounding so organised and not long to go either. Were you early with any of the others?

After this tonight I'm going to finish baby's bag and have mine mostly ready. Definitely need more maternity leggings though.

Got pub christmas meal with in laws tomorrow, one time definitely could do with a drink but can't wait to eat as much as I can. Although there's not much room anymore.

INeedNewShoes · 18/12/2016 01:13

So exciting to hear how everyone's pregnancies are progressing Smile

Dolerite - I'm glad everything is ok, but always just as well to get these things checked!

Can anyone recommend a particular brand of maternity leggings? I'm after some good-quality, thick-material leggings as I have very flabby legs so I need all the help I can get! Grin

doleritedinosaur · 18/12/2016 01:35

H&M mama leggings Ineeed they're thick & Ive had my 2 pairs since 2014 & been washed loads. They're so stretchy over the bump as well. I live in mine.
I think the website might have the larger sizes & can usually get codes with discount too.
Primark ones are a bit thinner & split easier so wouldn't bother.

Next normal leggings are thick so I'm guessing their maternity ones are too. But not tried them.

INeedNewShoes · 18/12/2016 01:54

Thanks Smile. I'll pop into H&M when I'm in London for work on Monday and pick some up. Despite my legs being very flabby (and definitely not being helped by pregnancy!) they're a very average size 12 so hopefully they'll have my size in stock.

I've done really well for maternity clothes as a couple of friends have passed on a load of stuff to me. Also bought a JoJo bump band to expand my normal jeans which is working really well. So once I've bought some leggings that should be me done on spending for the moment!
