its lovely to hear good news mike.

The reassurance for me lasted about 24 hours. Now worrying because I have a chesty cough and sore throat. Not taking anything but lemon and honey but worrying the infection might hurt the baby. Sad

Luckily I have my official 12 week NHS scan on Wednesday so not too long to wait.

Hope you are all having a nice Sunday. Cat x

INeedNewShoes · 11/12/2016 13:59

Net - I think we're right to keep exercising as long as we make sure we don't overdo it.

I got back on my bike for the first time in five weeks (it has taken me that long to recover my strength following my gastro bug last month). I really struggled to get up some of the hills that I usually find easy enough but it has just motivated me to make sure I do keep as fit as possible.

Having said that I could feel my bump resting on the top of my thighs with each pedal so I might need to make some adjustments to my bike to continue.

MrsAlanPartridge · 11/12/2016 15:04

m33r thanks Smile and everyone else! I'm not planning on asking for any scans before the 12 week one at the moment- because I don't think I would be very reassured Hmm
With my last MMC, the symptoms carried on after suddenly stopping for a bit, so I don't feel I can even take those as a reassuring thing, anymore Sad
I'm trying to remain calm and think what will be.. I have a GP appt on Weds and won't see MW until the week after that, when I hope I will be 10 weeks.
These early weeks are such a rollercoaster- sending good vibes to everyone! Smile

fuzzywuzzy · 11/12/2016 15:45

Oh mrsAlan, I'm sorry you're going thro the rollercoaster of the first trimester. I have to admit I found the early scans as traumatic as reassuring and they were only reassuring for a short while then the anxiety returned.

I'm 17.2 weeks today and I'm really worrying about the pregnancy, I think it started with the 16 week check and the off hand way the midwife was after taking ages to find the baby's heartbeat.
I actually had nightmares that night.

I'm trying to tell myself I haven't felt anything wrong and everything seems OK so there's nothing to worry about. But god it's hard.

The second trimester where nothing much is happening I have a slight bump, the SPD pain and that's it, I can't tell if I have felt any more movement it could just as easily be wind. Haven't felt anything definite since the first roll type movement.
So this trimester is also really nerve wracking. I actually am terrified & so worried.

I'm actually exhausted with being worried.

fuzzywuzzy · 11/12/2016 15:46

I meant I'm 16.2 wishing the time away.

INeedNewShoes · 11/12/2016 16:08

Fuzzy - it's still really early for feeling convincing movement. I've felt movement four times now. First time at around 16+2, then 16+5, then 17+2 which was last Saturday. Then nothing at all for a week until yesterday (18+2). All week I just had to keep telling myself that the baby must have been in a different position where I couldn't feel it moving. Yesterday morning I had that feeling of doom that it might all be over but then I was given two unmistakable sharp boots in a row by the baby last night just to let me know that its still in there!

The worrying is awful, isn't it. I completely get where you're coming from. Apart from my slightly grown tummy and slight pelvic discomfort I don't feel pregnant at all.

My 20-week scan is on the 22nd. It can't come soon enough!

MoonlightMojitos · 11/12/2016 17:45

I've had a browse today for pregnancy pilates classes but couldn't find any near by. There a few normal classes though that said they're suitable for all including those with back problems etc and pregnancy so I think I'll give a few of those a go and see how I get on, presuming they will adapt the moves. I also bought a dvd a few weeks ago but haven't done it yet so really need to get to it! I've out so much weight on a l ready I really need to be a bit more careful these next few months I say while sat here eating a box of chocs Blush

You all sound like you've had busy productive weekends, I'm so lazy! It's weird because I'm past the overwhelming exhaustion stage now where I would crash as soon I sat down but I'm not still so tired all the time and just not sleeping well. I woke up twice last night for no reason (on top of the few times to wee!)

Welcome to all the new joiners and congrats on your BFPs. Everyone here so nice so hoping you all get some good vibes! Congrats on the scan catlady!

Not long til your scan newshoes! I'm hoping my 20 week one is the one where I'll finally relax and accept this really is happening!

knorrig · 11/12/2016 18:36

Hey all,
Just catching up, hope everyone is well.
Congrats on your scan Catlady - can't believe that mix up!
Hope you're shopping trip went well Jpeg, I remember you talking about your sis before!
Hope time goes quick to your 20 weeks new shoes!
I have my 12 week scan tomorrow (12+2) feeling quite nervous about it now! Plus we'll find out if no 2 made it and it's a twin pregnancy or not!!

Will catch up properly now
x

Naschkatze · 11/12/2016 18:54

Congratulations Catlady, glad it went well.

Fuzzy I too found the second trimester worrying - it does get better fairly soon though! You've nearly done the hard bit.

Was having a lovely weekend - yesterday spent doing a friends Christmas Day and this morning picking up the Christmas tree.
However, we then went to view midwife led unit and whilst lovely I've had a bit of a panic at the midwife saying that if transfer to hospital was required partners are asked to travel by car and not in the ambulance. Might seem minor but I can't imagine being alone on that journey and now I'm freaking out. To top it off, came home to decorate the tree and the lights we bought this morning didn't work! Naturally at 29 weeks pregnant this meant I cried and have been on and off since BlushHmm firmly telling myself to get a grip and trying not to worry about needing to transfer to hospital in labour...

Sah1987 · 11/12/2016 19:55

Hope everyone is feeling well, just dropping in, I've had a productive weekend.
Cleaned my whole flat and moved my DD cot bed out of her room as she has a new bed and made it into a cot so I can start storing bits underneath.

I've been feeling flutters once or twice a day, I've really popped this week. I'm thinking it's because my body is just going back to how it knows how to be. And that I'm not doing to look progressively bigger as only 16.5 weeks!!!
My pop of my belly and flutters seem to have come hand in hand.

I've got my 20 week booked for 29th Dec and then another scan on 24th Jan as being monitored by consultant due to my lack of thyroid, low PAPP score and being over weight :( - this should make me happy, but more chance of us finding out the sex (which my partner wants to know and I don't :/)

Hope everyone has a fab week. X

MrsAlanPartridge · 12/12/2016 10:49

Hey ladies. Have been experiencing some overwhelming pain up the front- like huge spasms that take my breath away. Just feels not right. Already in my head it's game over Sad
GP appt on Weds, where I will voice my concerns. He may refer me for a scan, which will take military planning to do, due to other children at home, DH working away and no car. God I would love a crystal ball right now. So.much for me taking one day at a time!

Whatsername17 · 12/12/2016 20:34

Hi all! Just checking in really. 34+3 today and counting down the days until the Christmas holidays now! 4 to go! Welcome to all of the newbies. I've been exactly where you are so wish you lots of luck and hand holding. Not much to report really. We bought a bedside crib at the weekend. All of Christmas is prepared for and dd is getting so excited. Looking forward to the rest and getting ever closer to.the little ones arrival x

knorrig · 12/12/2016 21:05

Hi All,
I had my 12 week scan this morning. All good and baby is a right little wriggler! I told them at the early private scan they'd noted a twin pregnancy...at first she said all absorbed but then she found remnants of the sack, she said it was difficult to look at properly as baby kept kicking at it.
They couldn't do the neuchal measurements properly because of it so I have to go back in next week for another scan. I think they need it all to be gone so they can test properly as it can affect the result?
Happy and relieved all okay with baby though...as much as I would have loved twins, I'm grateful to have one and we were pre warned it was likely no 2 wouldn't survive...if we'd not had the early scan we may never have known about it!

theAntsareMyFriends · 13/12/2016 09:04

Congratulations knorrig. Thats' great news about your wriggly baby.

I had my 20week scan yesterday and I'm having a boy. My DS will have a brother! Really pleased although DP and I don't have any names we like as we used the only one we could agree on with DS.

I hope everyone is feeling Christmasy.

purpleviolet1 · 13/12/2016 09:27

Hope everyone is keeping well. A lovely time of year Smile

I'm keeping well, 24+4 today. Bit worried as I've been having symptoms of a UTI despite taking preventative antibiotics. Going to the doctors shortly. Some of you may recall I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks previously which was most likely brought on by urosepsis (uti turning sepsis). I know they say UTI should always be treated in pregnancy because they can bring on miscarriage / early labour. Probably just getting ahead of myself given my previous experience.

jpeg28 · 13/12/2016 17:26

Congrats Ants and knorrig on your scans. Sorry knorigg about the twin Sad

purple good to hear from you! Sorry about the uti and hope they clear it up for you quickly!

whatser great to hear from you too! 34 weeks is so close! I'm counting down until the xmas hols too!! I spent a lot of time sat at my desk today which I never do, but it's really helped the SPD pain so I'll be doing that more often now!!

MrsA it could just be you and the baby growing? I remember having sharp pains at around 11-13 weeks.

Sorry if I've missed anyone! Hope you are all well x

LuckyinOctober · 13/12/2016 19:54

Just checking in at 33 + 1, all still good with me. Congrats Mike, lovely to read your news, and good luck to purple at the doctors, hopefully catching symptoms early and getting treatment quickly will keep you safe this time. Also for the people in early stages dealing with the uncertainty, hang on in there and know that it gets better x

purpleviolet1 · 13/12/2016 20:45

Thanks ladies.

They have stopped the preventative antibiotic for a week and prescribed a different one to take. Hopefully that will kill it off!

Agree with Lindsay, first trimester is so hard but hang in there.

Sorry about your spd JPEG. I've had it on and off as well and some days it's so painful but I find stretching defo helps.

XxBecxX · 14/12/2016 11:35

Mornin ladies,
Well done on the scan knorrig!

Another little boy on the thread ants I'm sooo pleased for you xxx

Purple try not to worry to much about the uti, I've suffered with bad kidneys my entire life and it's got to the point for me now that I'm so desensitised to the stinging initial warning of the uti that lots with me can go amiss, I think that you were extreme unlucky on the mc pregnancy.
I really don't think it will happen again, my advice to you is to set yourself an amount of water that you HAVE to drink each day and make sure no matter what you always manage to get it down you, that's literally the only way I stop the infections.
Because I can't always detect the beginning issues now I very quickly develop kidney and bladder infections which are extremely terrible and I promise you keeping up with the water intake will help.
For the first year of my marriage I had to have 1 penicillin VK every morning as the doctor was so very worried about how introducing my body to sex would affect me and luckily for me I actually improved!
Hope that helps a little!

Jpeg I feel so sorry for you with regards to the spd, it's fookin awful to have, although I can feel my pelvis is weak already and I'm walking slow and a bit limpy lol it hasn't spread to the underside for me yet so I'm still quite mobile.
I know that it's just a matter of time as I've suffered the last 3 pregnancys with it but the midwife gave me some great advice, no matter what you do try to keep you legs together lol (bit late now rofl)
So as you stand keep those thighs together, when you sit, when you get out the car/bed etc, it takes a bit of thinking about but it has helped me xxx

Catlady100 · 14/12/2016 12:48

Congrats on the can knorrig but sorry about the twin Sad

Finally had my 12 week scan (feels like I've been pregnant for 3 times as long) and all fine. Baby was lying on its front so the pic isn't great but sonographer said it's very active. Still waiting for my harmony - the wait is dreadful. I've been reading about these nun theories but have no idea what I'm looking at! Grin Cat x

Catlady100 · 14/12/2016 12:48

Nub not nun! Good grief.

XxBecxX · 14/12/2016 15:42

Well done cat xxx

jpeg28 · 14/12/2016 16:42

Thanks bec I'm trying so so hard not to cross my legs but it's so hard!!ast nights swim really helped. I've told OH I need to keep my legs together Wink

Great news on the scan cat!! I'm not good on the nub thing! Although people said mine was a boy based on it and they were right!!

fuzzywuzzy · 14/12/2016 16:57

Purple I hope you get well soon. Second drinking water loads.

Catlady I think girl Smile, good luck for your harmony test results. xx

And thank you everyone for sharing your first movment experiences, I am trying to be calm and zen. Which is most unlike me!

jpeg I'm going to try the keeping legs together advice, I'm in agony whenever I get up from my office chair, I'm pretty sure it's not helping. A lot of women in the office actually used yoga balls to sit on in pregnancy I might try one out, main fear I'll fall off it!

Rebeccaj1985 · 14/12/2016 16:59

Hi all, had my scan today 9+2 and see heartbeat so relieved after all the worrying, only a few weeks until I might be able to fully relax but so happy to know all is well.. so far so good x
