I didn't really have a choice but to rescue the daft moggy as he couldn't secure his footing and I didn't want another vets bill! I hope your prediction is right Bec. I currently feel like the photo:

I got a giant U pillow from Ebay (new) it's great. I use it to prop me up when I'm reading in bed, then to wedge in front & behind when I'm sleeping, I've (touch wood) only had one bout of bad back this pregnancy and that was the day after I'd sat on DD floor to put away Xmas toys, so self inflicted rather than pregnancy, though I guess we could all call pregnancy self inflicted haha, found out a friend of mine is pregnant today, thought she was 6 weeks ago but due to her loses, I didn't want to pressure her into telling me, but now feeling like we can bond over bumps now, rather than me having pregnancy guilt. If that makes any sense?!

LynseyH · 10/01/2017 23:00

Thank you xxbec you've named nearly everything I have, I also added a bag of nuts for partner and lucozade for the both of us (if we need the hospital!).
Phone charger I had forgotten about. Hoping to get a couple of cheap shower curtains for bed protection whilst in labour, although that won't help if my waters go first. I am planning on buying a new mattress soon though, just putting it off til baby arrives.
Lip balm has to be a huge must for us?!
I'm picking up more non bio tomorrow so all of baby's clothes and blankets will be washed soon as. Also bought all new towels recently but kept the others for the home birth. They are clean and warm in the airing cupboard ready... after tomorrow all should be ready so as long as she doesn't decide to come tonight, all is well lol. Hospital bag (spent £10 on a large no name holdall that I'm hoping I don't need!!) should be delivered no later than Friday so it can be transferred from the box to the holdall. Bedroom has even been sorted for midwife with a chair in there too!
whatser I love the picture!! I reckon there will be only a small gap between us. How exciting and nerve wracking all in one!

carrick big congratulations on your gorgeous son and successful home birth :) Here's hoping he is all well very soon and back in your arms x

I'm loving reading about all the home birth prepping! I'm hoping to be at home too, midwife is very happy with that and I am very lucky that I can see hospital from my living room window! Just remembered though MW told me how she fell in birthing pool last time!

XxBecxX · 11/01/2017 06:57

Lolling at the pic watser.
Lyns you sound on top form, you've got this shiz all under control!

My back is terrible shah, obviously this is in total my 10th pregnancy, 6th baby and so my body is very used and abused and I won't lie I'm in quite a lot of pain all the time, back, hips, pelvis so if this pillow comes and aids a somewhat restful sleep that will be amaze balls!

Me and my youngest (my shadow lol) have been on the sofa bed for the last week, it's a comfy large one and it's easier to nestle in than the bed so hubby is enjoying the space to himself, another day begins time to get up and do the schooling!
Oh the joys xxx

doleritedinosaur · 11/01/2017 12:23

I posted yesterday but it must have got eaten on the app.

Congratulations Carrick, he's gorgeous & hope he's back with you soon. Hope you're resting.

whatser that's me now at nearly 32 weeks, it takes me 2 tries to get off the sofa.
Hope grumpy cat isn't feeling too grumpy today.

lynsey I second lip balm, hand cream, something like Andrex wipes for yourself & a hot water bottle for contractions.

I've got a small wheely suitcase in the bedroom with baby's bag & my things I'm not using at the moment/toiletries. OH knows where my clothes are to grab incase it's not packed.
I was in hospital at 32 weeks with DS so that's why I've been so organised as it was horrible being in with nothing ready.

32 weeks tomorrow & hoping to see midwife to get homebirth organised.

OH realised we still have no boys middle names sorted so I don't know if we should just wait or try & come up with some.

Hope everyone has a good day, I'm going slowly after DS's swimming lesson yesterday, even napped after it.

Macauley · 11/01/2017 12:35

My baby is here and we had a little girl! Bit of a surprise arrival as I had nearly 2 weeks left to go and had no real pre-labour signs. Was a bit of a fast delivery and got to the hospital just in time!

Badgerbird · 11/01/2017 14:18

Eeeek macauley! Congratulations, how exciting!!

XxBecxX · 11/01/2017 14:33

Finally caught up!

Congrats Carrick - hope little Copper gets better v soon.

Congrats Macauley

Glad you've got a plan Alb, that must make you feel better.

I had my 16 week mw appointment on Monday and got to hear the heartbeat which was lovely and another little relief - can't wait till the 20 week scan now!

Will go and research pillows now!

Whatsername17 · 11/01/2017 15:23

Congratulations Macauley! That is wonderful news! I am so jealous! No one else is allowed to give birth before me now!!!! It's myyyyy turn next! Grin But seriously, enjoy every second of your new arrival Flowers

Naschkatze · 11/01/2017 15:35

Congratulations Macauley! Lovely news.

INeedNewShoes · 11/01/2017 15:40

Congratulations Macauley Smile

Effy1990 · 11/01/2017 15:49

Had my 12 week scan today, and going by my scan at 8 weeks I was 13+2, however today I have been dated 13+6. But everything is fine and my anxiety has eased for the time being. However I don't have any symptoms anymore nor any sign of a bump when am I likely to start noticing one, I am slightly overweight and have a bit of a tummy already? This is DC1.

Naschkatze · 11/01/2017 15:55

Good news on the scan Effy! I'm glad you feel reassured.
I could have easily gotten to 20 weeks without telling anyone as bump wasn't at all
obvious until after then. It's different for everyone but don't worry that you don't have a bump yet!

jpeg28 · 11/01/2017 16:40

Wow Macauley congratulations on the brith of your little girl!!

Congrats on scan effy... in terms of bump I was a good 16-20 weeks before a bump came along and it's only been a proper bump for a few weeks now, I'm 26 weeks.

I have a bit of an embarrassing question....
My bladder doesn't seem to be what it used to be anymore and I'm slightly leaking I think BlushConfused anyone got any advice! I'm doing kegels... maybe I'm doing them wrong!!!

oliversmummy26 · 11/01/2017 17:13

HI Ladies, can I join? BFP on Sunday after a MMC at 10 weeks on 29th November last year...got pregnant straight away which is great, but now having a wobble!

I guess I'm around 6 weeks and have booking in on 25th January, only symptoms so far are tiredness, sore boobs, crazy dreams, teenager spots and some brown spotting last week (which I guess was implantation bleeding).

I am desperate for some morning sickness and hoping that I'll soon regret saying that!

doleritedinosaur · 11/01/2017 17:14

Awwww Mac congratulations!

Effy symptoms can tail off once placenta takes over & bump wise can really take a while. Especially if it's your first. & your uterus will be so low down so bump needs to rise up out of the pelvis.

jpeg I've got the same issue & yoga/pelvic floor exercises are doing bugger all. I'm using Tena lady but also when you go to the toilet, make sure you sit there for a few minutes to check the bladder is fully empty. That seems to help. It's really frustrating how much I'm going as I need to drink, it's okay at home but out & about is a nightmare.

Do we want a post birth thread for us? Or is that jumping the gun? Seeing as there seems to be more babies now.

Aldi baby event leaflets are in store for when it happens on 19th. OH wants all the flamingo motif things. Hmm

jpeg28 · 11/01/2017 17:25

Thanks for the Aldi tip! I didn't realise it was on the 19th... is that every Aldi??
And I'm glad to know I'm not alone with the bladder issue!!! I dread to think what it will be like after birth!!

Welcome oliversmummy and congrats!!

MoonlightMojitos · 11/01/2017 17:34

Just trying to catch up, it's been busy on here last few days! Massive congrats to mac and carrick!!! Sorry to hear he's been poorly carrick, here's hoping a quick recovery to him. Lovely chubby cheeks on him! Great to hear the birth all went well though xx

Welcome oliversmummy was so sorry to hear you had the mc as was on the June dates thread with you but it's great you've got a BFP again already! Here's to a healthy 9 months for you now.

effy don't worry, especially as you've had the scan, my symptoms pretty much tailed off at 10 weeks (luckily!) And I know it's nerve wracking but try to enjoy it! I just looked a bit bloated until about week 17/18 when it started turning into a proper bump.

I'm 20 weeks today, only 2 more days til my scan (counting down the hours!)

Gingerbreadmam · 11/01/2017 18:50

Hey oliver im on your antenatal group!

LynseyH · 11/01/2017 18:56

Yay another one!! Huge congratulations macauley!!! Brilliant news ❤
jpeg hate to put it out there but are you sure it's your bladder and not water? If it's leaking, get checked. Leakages after sneezing or laughing etc is common but not an actual 'flow'. I'm not sure how much you mean as you didn't go into detail. I do not want to worry you at all but thought it's better safe than sorry.
effy bumps can show early or past the 5 month mark, all different for all ladies... congratulations on a good and healthy scan tho!
whatser whats your official due date? I know very soon but can't remember the specific due date.

I've finally got everything together for my hospital bag now, just need the bag to arrive to put it all in! Stocked up on fairy non bio so washing machine is going to get another hammering tomorrow. I am doing washing everytime there's enough for one load so I don't get behind with it. It's the worst chore and I still have 3 baskets worth of clean to put away yet :-/
Tomorrow will be the first free day I've had since the kids broke up from school so I plan to put the washing on and get back in bed after the school run. Been on my feet so much today I feel exhausted!!

Wow hadn't expected to read that quite yet mac although I have been checking regularly for updates, knowing a few of us are nearly there. Sounds like things were straightforward if unexpectedly soon and fast, and now you have your little girl safe in your arms, enjoy every minute. Huge congratulations xx

Jpeg and Dino I've been doing my kegels three times a day as we were taught in pregnancy yoga -

10 x fast clench and release of all three sets (front, middle and back)
Hold all three sets in for a count of 10 deep breaths
Imagine you're moving a lift up through your pelvic floor, clenching at floor 1, then at floor 2, then at floor 3, then moving down to ground floor again, stopping at each.

I've still lost the occasionally drop when I sneeze despite all that though, I think it might be a bit inevitable with a bigger bump and the answer may well be to start wearing a pad when out in public, like you say Dino.
