Im assuming i dont have the progesterone thing as i made it to 27weeks last time and even for both losses my body carried the pregnancy.

Can anyone remember roughly when your boobs started to hurt and was it all over or just the nipple or both lol?

Whatsername17 · 04/01/2017 18:56

Hi everyone! Told work about the issues with my bp and decided to start mat leave a week earlier than planned at 38+3. Officially, my first day of leave is Monday but I'll have my last day on Friday! I'm so happy!

doleritedinosaur · 04/01/2017 19:44

Aw whatser only a few days of work left then! Hope it goes well for you.

ginger my nipples went mad when I was about 5 weeks pregnant with this one & the rest of symptoms as well. I was breastfeeding DS still though & they got sore quickly.

Boots have got pampers 5 for £20 as well jpeg

Aldi nappies are size 1's for £1.15 for 24 & size 2's are £2.45 for 44. I'm picking them up when I get paid next week. DS has used them with no problems but leaks in pampers.
Also Aldi do free standard delivery & have their baby & toddler event on 19th January.
I usually buy 5 boxes of wipes at a time haha.

Welcome to new ones & someone posted a link on reliability of clear blue digital before.
I never got beyond a faint line on IC's with this one & now got a wiggling butt in my ribs.

alb I'm so sorry about your scan not going the way you wanted. Hope the midwife can help you.

OH just packed the baby's hospital bag so he knows where it all is.
He had today off so actually got me to rest.
I'm seeing midwife in the morning at 31 weeks & will see if my bump is still at 90th centile.
Starting to get anxiety over birth & the guilt with DS. The not sleeping isn't helping much. Trying to keep busy & also got a birthing ball for free which is massively helping my back & ribs.

Hope everyone has a good evening.

& jpeg if you're ever worried ringing triage will definitely help, when I went in the other week the midwife said they'd rather you be seen or at least spoken to rather than fretting at home. Glad you got to hear the heartbeat, it's wonderful isn't it?

Gingerbreadmam · 04/01/2017 19:55

Ahh well ive still got a few days before i should be expecting anything then haha thanks.

MoonlightMojitos · 04/01/2017 20:09

Right, just caught up on a few posts but don't have time to go all the way back, sorry to anything I've missed!

I'm 19 weeks today and counting down the days til our scan now next Friday although that's making it go so slow.

ginger as others have said, do not trust the digis. I did one at the beginning of this pregnancy which was 2-3 when I definately should have been 3+, ended up going for an emergency scan the next day due to pain and there was a happy baby with heartbeat already so don't worry! As for boobs, mine never got sore! I think I was maybe lucky but everyone is different. They got very tingly and felt very hard first few weeks but never painful.

Well done hearing the heartbeat jpeg! Thanks for ocado tip, we use them sometimes so will keep an eye out for offers!

whatser how exciting! Not long to go at all!

I need to let my work know soon when I plan to go on leave but I can't decide! I know I'll probably feel knackered by 36 weeks so considering then but could do with working as long as possible for the money and it is only a short commute so don't know what to do? Anyone else want to advise? If I go overdue I think I'll be going mad after 6 weeks at home! It's only an office job so not strenuous but I'm assistant manager and it can be very stresful and mentally draining.

alb sorry for the stress you've had but definitely sounds like she just had a communication issue and wasn't very understanding about the anxiety and the reassurance you were seeking.

becs I had no idea about stopping Huggies that's strange!

dino well done on being prepared! And good job dp being prepared too and letting you rest. Sorry you're worrying, fx everything is ok tomorrow.

Whatsername17 · 04/01/2017 20:11

I'm so ready for a career break now! I will still have GCSE marking to do but I'm happy to do that whilst I'm off. Hopefully, I'll get it all done next week but if baby arrives before then I've got plenty of time to meet the deadline of May 1st. We've bought dd a camera and a photo album as a present from the baby. It's only a cheap point and click but I'm hoping it will help her to feel completely involved. She is really excited now. We've put up a changing table in the lounge that has space for nappy/toy storage underneath and the moses basket is set up ready for day time naps. Really not much more to do now. I just swing between excited and anxious.

Gingerbreadmam · 04/01/2017 20:25

Ahh few. Well done ladies you are doing a great job of talking me down. Just what i needed. Very greatful, thanks.

MoonlightMojitos · 04/01/2017 20:29

whatser that such a good idea with the camera, how lovely!

jpeg28 · 04/01/2017 20:52

Thanks dolerite.... it was such an amazing sound!!

moonlight hope the next week goes super quick for you scan!!

In terms of leaving work... I'm down to leave at 38+3... I have no idea how I'll feel and I suppose I could leave sooner. However that ties in with school holidays so my maternity leave won't start until baby is actually born or two weeks after that, whichever is sooner... so it makes financial sense! Some people have laughed when I've said that and said I'll never make it that far, others have said they were still teaching the day they gave birth!!

whatser that's sooooo exciting you have just a few days of teaching left!!! And of course that your baby is so close too!!! And that's so sweet with the camera!

Ginger I'm glad you're feeling better.... this thread is the best for all of our anxieties!!

Just come back from swimming... feeling like a whale and moved from my usual medium pace lane to slow Envy

XxBecxX · 05/01/2017 07:35

Just been told that they sell huggies in boxes in Costco wholesale!
I shall be making a trip lol

doleritedinosaur · 05/01/2017 10:33

Morning everyone, Asda baby event has the angelcare monitors reduced & quite a few of the different ones if anyone hasn't picked one up yet.

jpeg I know what you mean about swimming, DS has a lesson every week & this weeks was hard. I had to lead everyone around the pool for one of the songs & I said I wasn't going fast! Struggling to throw him up in the air too haha.

Hope next Friday comes quickly for you moonlight & with leave it's really hard to judge. How are you dealing with the commute at the moment? If you do go overdue maternity leave gets boring fast. Can you say 38 weeks but go sooner if you are struggling?

Just heard baby have hiccups through the Doppler which was cute. & found out my hospital do natural c sections so I feel a lot better about finding out Monday now.

It's absolutely freezing here so trying to have a day in before groups start again next week.

LynseyH · 05/01/2017 12:49

Wow this thread has grown a lot in the last couple of days!
I woke up this morning feeling really sick (lack of sleep I think). And my stomach had been quite upset the last few days too, am quite ready to feel like me again and not have all these niggling side affects!
Yesterday was back to school and was asked twice if I'd already had baby, til I moved my huge scarf out of the way! Nice to know I'm not looking as huge as I feel!!
With those of you in the last stretch, I think your doing amazing, staying at work so long must be tough, especially as you all seem to be teachers and that's not an easy job to do at the best of times!

To all that are in the early stages, newbies to the thread, you honestly will always have the best support here. It's such an incredibly tough experience but a day at a time has worked for a lot of us and us in the later stages are proof it can work out well. Keep talking, this thread has saved plenty of people's sanity!!
And of course to those in the middle stages...keep going!! Try and enjoy it and soon baby will be here.

I'm thinking it's about time we had a round up now?!
And for those due soon, get another bump picture sorted before its too late!! I'm now 34+6.
5 weeks to go...4 weeks if this one is the same as my boys (born 39+2 and 39+1 for the younger two).

dino do I dare look how much asda have reduced the monitor to?!

Just catching up this week...

Really pleased scan went well bec :)
Not too long for you now moonlight :)

alb I don't think it's silly at all, there is alot of emotion wrapped up in that. I would def ask for a rescan and ask for a different sonographer, I've done that myself after having not great experiences from a particular sonographer Confused only if you can bare going back to same place though ofcourse. I hope you got hold of your bereavement mw, take all the support you can get Hun

cucumber "or the constantly poking them" Grin been there!! Here's to a healthy 9 months for you.

ginger I've been known to call hospital/midwife unit in tears just wanting to have a brief chat with someone as soooooo anxious. They eventually put me through to a lovely midwife who really helped but I had to really push for that. My Drs have been good and proscribed me progesterone and aspirin for when I got pregnant this time, no idea if that helped but like fuzzy says it helped me feel proactive. As you say it may not make any difference as you carried last times, I had MMC's so didn't lose them in that respect either. It's all such a guessing game isn't it. I'm 20 wks tomoz so still earlyish but feeling more and more positive as weeks go by and just trying to enjoy it as much as poss. I hate that you weren't felt listened to, it's so so important and I hope you find the best people to help you. It's great here, such kind hearts on this thread :)

doleritedinosaur · 05/01/2017 15:06

Have you got a scan soon badger? Or have you already had it? Sorry I'm in throes of baby brain.

Aw lynsey are you able to return it if it is a big difference? It seems to vary to different models but the video ones have very little off.
I second bump photos especially as I'm now bigger than when I actually gave birth to DS but weigh less! 3 stone less.

I'm 31 weeks today & baby is size of a romaine lettuce. Their butt feels bigger though.

Started a downstairs deep clean in preparation for play date at mine tomorrow, especially as DS is napping. Bump makes it really hard!
Really want the house finished now, can't paint until tomorrow night though.

Gingerbreadmam · 05/01/2017 15:43

Thanks badger. I know i naievely thought i would get some sort of special treatment after a stillbirth but i appreciate it's early days.

Just got to keep my fingers crossed things are progressing.

Hope you dont mind me asking but did you take baby aspirin from bfp?

Badgerbird · 05/01/2017 16:10

ginger I think you should get treated with more compassion!! Anyway.... before I rant.... yes I took baby aspirin from BFP, I had already had tests for sticky blood and didn't have it but dr says it covers all sorts of things...

Had NHS anomaly scan on tues dinosaur and saw our wriggly little girl in there, all looking healthy just wish I could feel her wriggling but got anterior placenta so it may be a while yet. Try not to go ott with the deep cleaning! Is house neeeeearly finished now?

Macauley · 05/01/2017 16:16

Not posted for ages but been lurking to keep up with everyone's news Smile I'm 37 weeks now so not long left to go. Just resting up now and waiting for baby plus googling every little thing to see if it's labour starting. I feel like this pregnancy has gone so fast but these last few weeks are dragging!!!

LuckyinOctober · 05/01/2017 18:50

I'm in a similar place to you Macauley, lurking sometimes here but not posting much as it's all stayed really straightforward for me. I'm now 36 + 3 and mainly excited and looking forward to the birth now. I've just started getting some pelvic pains and braxton hicks this week, and baby has now dropped into my pelvis so we're slowly going in the right direction I think :-)

Gingerbreadmam · 05/01/2017 19:35

oh good. i started mine on bfp but my consultant told me to start at 12 weeks. i didnt think that was right though but what ive seen today is conflicting.

i guess if its meant to help with mc which usually happens before 12 weeks then you would definitely take it before then and in all fairness my consultant also put to take the regular folic acid 3 months prior to ttc but she had noted that wrong as it was supposed to be 5mg so you can see why i had my doubts ha!

LynseyH · 05/01/2017 20:49

Anyone in the later stages feeling ill? As in sick as a dog?! Mentioned earlier about feeling rough but now I feel horrid. Getting some nasty twinges in the very top of my legs and just feel so uncomfortable. If I was closer, I'd be thinking if it was early signs of labour but bit too soon for that. I'm really hoping a good night's sleep might sort me out but please tell me this will pass?!

OP posts:
Naschkatze · 05/01/2017 20:54

Lynsey I've been getting morning sickness this week and I didn't suffer at all in the first trimester! Also this evening having random stomach pains/twinges and my back and hips are killing me. So in answer to your question, yes! I'm hoping it's the shock of being back at work after two weeks of rest and that I'll get back into the swing of things next week... otherwise not convinced I can do another 5 weeks of work! I hope that a good nights sleep means you feel better tomorrow.

LynseyH · 05/01/2017 21:13

Aw nasch I really hope you feel better soon too.
Thank you for answering me! I'm just laying on sofa hoping if I don't move I won't feel worse. In the first trimester I felt hideous and more tired than I've ever known. I'm not as tired at the moment but the nausea is just horrid. Must be a shock to you to have it now after having none earlier on!

OP posts:
Naschkatze · 05/01/2017 21:32

Also laying on the sofa, I think it's a very good idea. It has come as a bit of a shock. I did have mild nausea at the beginning, but only really in the evenings if I got hungry and as soon as I ate, was fine. Now I don't fancy eating because the heartburn afterwards is so bad! On the plus side, baby has shifted down a bit today and I can breathe again without a bottom in my ribs.

For the round up: 32+6. Will have to do a bump pic tomorrow. I'm a bit concerned my belly button is finally going to give up and pop out BlushHmm

Hope everyone else is okay this evening.

doleritedinosaur · 05/01/2017 22:02

lynsey are you drinking enough water? I know when I'm dehydrated my legs are cramping up as much.
Any tightenings or anything?

I had a cold the week before I had DS & it was hell. So hope you feel better soon. Really not long to go.

Glad baby has shifted nasch this baby butt is not comfortable haha. How far off is your belly button?

I now fully regret hoovering the whole house & the deep clean downstairs. OH told me off but said it does look great. Does mean no housework to do this weekend.
Really hoping I sleep tonight, absolutely shattered.

Hope everyone had a nice evening & manages to sleep.

Macauley · 05/01/2017 22:19

Yes lynsey feeling a bit rough this week and getting pains in my pelvis.

It's all got very real now lucky. I think I just yoyo between excited and then really nervous all day!
