Welcome shed, wishing you a happy healthy outcome, we've all been where you have, and it's so scary falling again after a bad experience.
Try to stay calm and most of all try to think positively as there's not much you can do to alter your outcome either way, sometimes having hope is all you can do xxxx

XxBecxX · 03/01/2017 11:08

I'll check mine knorrig and post one sec x

cucumbershed · 03/01/2017 11:15

Aww thanks Bec Smile

knorrig · 03/01/2017 11:25

Welcome Shed - you'll get good support here, we all understand the anxiety!

XxBecxX · 03/01/2017 11:26

Xx shed.
Right knorrig I've got 3 pics here, one is my nuchal results, and the other 2 where from my anomaly scan and they where conducted 2 days apart, the reason I'm showing you those 2 is look at the different measurements of my little man taking by 2 different sonographers only days apart, you can see clearly that it's all about the experience of the scanner that counts as there's no way those measurements could have changed in 48 hours, the less experienced scanner was first then the consultant so I think that you shouldn't try to dwell to much in those results you have as I believe that if you had of had a different scanner in a different day you may well have been given a completely different result!
1st nuchal result...

1st pic, less experienced scanner.

48 hours later...

2nd pic, consultant head of dept, measured the baby a lot smaller!

XxBecxX · 03/01/2017 11:30

Posting is playing up lol

Thanks Bec, I really appreciate you sharing. I know if I'd have had the bloods it would probably be totally different.

XxBecxX · 03/01/2017 16:44

Had my scan and all looked good, 24+ Weeks today and he's measuring over estimate, tiny round head, fat belly and long legs!
They say he weighs 1lb 12oz already 😍😍
Also been on the aspirin for over a month and it seems to have worked as my PI in the UA was 1.9 & 1.8 and now it's 1.1 so that's awesome xx

fuzzywuzzy · 03/01/2017 17:29

That sounds really good Bec, and you're nearing the final stretch now.

I had to go home from work today was so sick, beginning of a migraine I think it seems to have calmed down now.

jpeg28 · 03/01/2017 17:39

Lots to catch up on today!!

Thanks for everyone's advice about movement... after all my worrying, baby has been much more active today and for the firs time I felt movement while teaching, when normally I don't notice anything! I'm completely done in after just or day at work.. only 65 teaching days to go!! No idea how I'm going to cope!!

MrsAP congrats on getting to 12 weeks and I hope you get the scan referral really soon to put your mind at ease.

knorrig that's still very low odds, like Bec said, £495 is a lot for the private test.... but would it make you feel better?? Your nuchal measurement is still lower than they worry about I thought. And like Bec said it depends on the scanner and the twin pregnancy would have skewed your results.

Welcome cucumber and I'm really sorry for your previous loss... everything crossed for you for this one!

Glad your scan went well bec! I wish they offered more scans. . I want another peak!!

fuzzy sorry you're feeling unwell. Hope you've got your feet up this evening.

25 weeks exactly today... feeling humungous!

XxBecxX · 03/01/2017 18:02

Oh no fuzzy that's grim, lots of water and if you are on the phone make sure you turn your brightness right down, that always aggravates my head! Can you try a nice early nite to sleep it off? Xx

That's ace jpeg, those movements must have been really strong to still feel while you where busy!
Watch him turn out to be a right little fatty bum when he's born, coz he's been so delicate to date i bet he's actually a little bruiser lol 😂

I just can't wait to get to the finish line now, I'm sooooooo impatient lol

knorrig · 03/01/2017 18:38

Congrats Bec, that's lovely.

Hope you feel better soon fuzzy.

Glad you felt movement today Jpeg, that must make you feel better. And thanks for your reassuring words. I am sure if I'd have been able to have bloods it would have affected the result in a more positive way.

jpeg28 · 03/01/2017 20:11

On a completely different subject.... has anyone managed to get some decent maternity gym clothes that don't cost a small fortune? I can't find anything anywhere except for about £45 just for one pair of leggings!

Naschkatze · 03/01/2017 20:50

Jpeg I bought yoga type trousers from mothercare for £18 which are very comfy. I suppose it depends what kind of exercise you're still doing but I'm very much just on yoga/Pilates and swimming now. I'm planning on living in them in after the birth so might buy another pair! Glad baby was moving more today. I was back at work today too - only an INSET though and I'm exhausted already. 28 teaching days to go!

Can anyone help - I'm suffering really badly with heartburn and indigestion. Never experienced it before pregnancy and it's making me feel so ill. Any tips?

purpleviolet1 · 03/01/2017 20:51

Knorrig I'm afraid i have no experience in downs results, I was just told mine was low...I'll be thinking of you though.

Mrs Alan - hope you get your scan date soon.

Welcome
Cucumber and sorry for your loss

Congrats Xbec on your scan that's great news!!!

I have a midwife appt tomorrow and the consultant in the afternoon. Will be going to work in between.

27+4 xx

XxBecxX · 03/01/2017 20:52

Oh my word jpeg, your making me feel exhausted just saying 'gym clothes' lol
How have you got energy for exercise lol
If I had a scrap of gym energy I'd probably just go in a baggy tshirt and leggings lol
Try amazon x

Alb1 · 03/01/2017 20:53

Glad your scan went well bec

Had our scan today, baby was lay in a bad position so couldn't get any 3D pictures and the 2D ones they did are so bad u can't even tell there's a baby. When looking at the sex the lady said it's a girl, but she's only 90% sure because the legs were closed and she hopes it doesn't change between now and my 20 week scan Confused as if the sex can just change or something. So we're going to book another sex scan for the end of the week to confirm, although I really don't mind what we have it just feels like a big deal this time as we have DS already and then DD was stillborn, this is our last pregnancy so if it's a boy we will never get to raise a girl (which is fine, it's just we thought we would before loosing DD) and if it's a girl she will be born almost exactly after her big sisters due date so I think it will be a little more emotional comparing all her milestones and wondering if the two girls would have looked alike etc, probably sounds stupid. Wish the sonographer would have just said she couldn't say as she didn't know rather than guessing really Confused

Sorry for the long post, can't talk to anyone about this in real life as we havnt really told anyone yet so just wanted to get it out!

Hope everyone else is ok

XxBecxX · 03/01/2017 20:58

Nasch just that grim peppermint peptic acid stuff, ask the pharmacist for it, its vile but it works, also sleep on your left side at nite as that's when I get it and if you sleep on your right side your stomach is higher than your esophagus and it can easily creep back out of your stomach and back up as the pregnancy hormone leaves the muscle that keeps it closed soft, that usually keeps it all in the stomach.
I've only had heartburn in this pregnancy and with one of my daughters and as the old wives tale goes she actually was born gorilla like full of hair lol xx

XxBecxX · 03/01/2017 21:10

I cross posted you alb, all very emotionally draining for you, and so very very upsetting thinking about the what might have been.
I'd say that the bubs is most likely a girl as they can usually get boys wrong (the placenta can sometimes cause confusion) but it's not to common girl to boy as I've heard.
My scan place offers a free rescan if they can't tell definitively on the first scan, you should ring them back up and see if they have anything similar?
You shouldn't have come away dissatisfied.
I get what you mean about the feeling like having a daughter might slip through your fingers, it won't matter if the baby is a boy you will love him all the world no matter, but I understand your feeling.
I think when you know either way for sure you can start to process your feelings one way or another, limbo stinks, I'm sending my kisses 😘 and hugs for you xx

Whatsername17 · 03/01/2017 21:44

I've no words, Alb- just a hug xxx

Naschkatze · 03/01/2017 21:50

Thanks Bec - I'll give it a try. At the moment I'll try anything. Google recommended chewing gum after dinner and so far it has worked! First time all day I've not felt close to being sick!
Also, congrats on your positive scan. I tried to post earlier but dodgy internet connection meant it went missing.

Alb sorry you had a disappointing scan today but it sounds like everything was well otherwise? Was it private? Like Bec said, if booked as a scan to find out the sex will they not repeat it? When I went for the growth scan last week, I think their T&Cs said they would do a free repeat scan for sex scans if they were unable to tell due to position of baby.

Alb1 · 03/01/2017 22:11

Thank you all, yeah everything was fine otherwise I think. I don't think the lady doing it had the best understanding of English though, I asked her to tell me as soon as she spotted a heartbeat as I get so anxious and she laughed at me, so I explained about my last baby and that I need to no it's alive before anything else, and she still just sat quietly and then said 'here is your baby, here is its spine...' So until I spotted the heart myself I was verging on tears. She also said there was suppose to be fluid between the baby and the placenta and that I didn't have enough fluid which has filled me with terror too, I pushed her quite a lot on that one and from what I can gather she meant to get good 3D images, rather than saying my baby just didn't have enough fluid, I think Confused I think it was just the way she was wording things and not fully understanding my questions though. They are suppose to offer a rescan but didn't and I don't want to go back there to be honest, going to try and phone my berevement midwife in the next few days instead so she can talk me down from the worrying. I should see my consultant in the next few weeks and after that il be having NHS scans very frequently anyway, this was just suppose to be a treat to try and bond. But most importantly I can go to sleep tonight knowing that my baby is still alive today, measures correctly and is moving about (on the scan anyway, can't feel it yet)

XxBecxX · 04/01/2017 04:59

Bless you alb, you've been through it.
I don't have any helpful advice for you, just that I'm here to listen xx

Naschkatze · 04/01/2017 06:21

Alb Oh dear, I see what you mean. It does sound like a communication problem though.
Did you get a report of any kind that could offer some more detail? (I wasn't that impressed with the last one I received but at a previous clinic it was much more detailed than the NHS ones and lovely to read all the measurements etc.) A chat with your midwife is a good idea. Flowers
