Thank you INeedNewShoes I think I'll hold off til 20 weeks too. It's six working weeks and we'll be busy so hopefully it'll go quickly. I don't like or trust my boss not to tell others so they'll have to wait too. Just worried about the issues which might fall out of the restructure.
I hope I get to the feeling kicks and movement stage, I think that'll be very reassuring :)

hula16 · 31/12/2016 11:47

I'm normal for once ha! Yeah my Mum and more so my Dad are excited but I can't deal with it 🙈

Thanks Whatsername17 x

Hello Lovelies, it's been ages but I still follow along and love seeing how well everyone's doing Smile I've made it to 19+1, had an early anomaly scan (that was nervewracking ofcourse !) and all looks ok so just generally nervous something will go wrong now!! I still don't feel as connected as I thought I would but I guess that's self preservation. Can't wait to feel her moving!!

To all those with recent bfps a big congratulations! However I know I was bricking it after 2 MMC's!

To help keep us sane (ish) my DH and I would just assure ourselves that whatever happens we will be "ok". And I really don't mean that to sound harsh in any way. Our babies have all been very wanted and we are desperate to be parents but we also realise how lucky we are to have eachother (home, family, friends etc). Our hearts were broken with those 2 MMC and we have been so lucky to get pregnant again.

I also try and enjoy it as much as I can as I don't know how long it will last or if it will be my only pregnancy (I'm 39). So hard as it can be maybe sometimes just try and go with it, enjoy your pregnancy, we can never know what tomorrow brings can we :)

bec your bump is gorgeous!!!

Gingerbreadmam · 31/12/2016 13:48

Gingerbreadmam · 31/12/2016 14:19

Haha the pub is behind our house so not a chance.

I am debating playing on being rough from last night and nursing a shandy for a long time or swapping drinks with dp.

Whatsername17 · 01/01/2017 01:00

DoubleCarrick · 01/01/2017 07:44

Morning all! Happy New Year!!

Just wanted to drop in and say hey - I've not really been following the thread as I'm generally working hard on keeping myself on an emotional even keel and generally that seems to mean I need to avoid too many pregnancy threads!

I've woken up this morning and it's just occurred to me that tomorrow I will be 39 weeks!!!

I had to have another growth scan last week as tummy still isn't growing quick enough but baby seems to be doing ok. Anyway, I'm off back to bed as I've been up since about 4.30!

LynseyH · 01/01/2017 08:20

Happy New Year! to everyone on this thread, this year is our year, wishing you all lots of love and luck for the coming months!! 🎉🎉❤❤🎉🎉

Happy new year everyone!!
Carrick good to hear from you and hope all goes well... you'll be holding that baby so soon!!
whatser it's so exciting this is the month for you too!!!

I made a huge "what we need for baby" list last night and I'm going to start getting organised soon! Just writing the list made me feel organised... I do actually need to buy it all though!!

Hope you all had lovely NYE's... I was fast asleep!

doleritedinosaur · 01/01/2017 09:45

Happy new year everyone.
Wow carrick not long for you, hope you manage to get more sleep.
Hope next few weeks go well for you whatser

I was really restless last night so packed half the hospital bag.
Scan is a week tomorrow then looking at either 7 weeks until baby or natural which might just be as long.

INeedNewShoes · 01/01/2017 09:54

Happy New Year everyone Smile

Really exciting for those of you nearing your due dates!

Welcome Gingerbread Smile Sorry that you've been through such a lot. You've come to the right place. This thread has played a big part in keeping me (almost) sane during this pregnancy!

Naschkatze · 01/01/2017 09:56

Happy New Year! So exciting that so many people here are so close now!
I hope that 2017 brings health and happiness for us all.

Carrick I've seen on other threads you've been having early signs - good luck! Can't wait to hear all about your precious little one.

Gingerbreadmam · 01/01/2017 10:09

thank you.

i will be needing it i'm sure. it feels so sad not to be excited by thia bfp but thats different to the last two times so maybe a good thing haha!

Alb1 · 01/01/2017 10:18

Happy new year everyone! Welcome ginger I hope last night went smoothly for you.

16 weeks today, got a private scan on Tuesday to check if it's still alive the sex, it will be our 5th scan already, starting to form a nice compilation of scan pictures showing baby's development which is cute.

Is the 16 week midwife appointment still a regular pregnancy thing? I haven't made one but wonder if I should, the midwife didn't really make it very clear to be honest.

Hope everyone is ok today!

Whatsername17 · 01/01/2017 10:28

Try not to worry, Carrick. If they were worried they would induce you. I'm really emotional today. I don't know why; I think maybe because it is all so close to becoming a reality. I just feel like I need this baby in my arms now!
We let dd stay up until midnight last night as we went to sils to celebrate and she is still in bed! Dh is baking pain au chocolate and I'm sat snuggled in my blanket with my cat feeling the baby wiggle. My bp had come down a bit yesterday so that was good news. The ils are in Scotland with sil2, so we are hosting NYD dinner for Sil1, her dh and kids. Wondering how hungover they are?! Glad I'm not contending with that today! Really glad to have the house ready for baby too. I'm on countdown now. 8 more days at work (starting wednesday) then I'm finished. I'm so ready now!

INeedNewShoes · 01/01/2017 10:28

Hi Alb - I'm pretty sure the 16-week appointment is standard.

If nothing else its just a good opportunity to have your blood pressure checked and urine tested for infection and if you're lucky the midwife will let you listen to the heartbeat. Its also another chance to ask any questions that might have cropped up for you since your booking appointment.

hbmelon · 01/01/2017 11:30

Hi everyone.

I've had one previous MC and am now 6+2. Sounds like some of you had early scans - we had one at 6+0 as routine part of IVF. They said the heart rate was a little low at 92. Can anyone else remember what theirs were if they had them this early?

So in need of reassurance 😥

Gingerbreadmam · 01/01/2017 11:33

thanks alb yes we got through it fine thank you. i just played on a hangover from the night before and had two shandys and a coke. in all fairness i had a headache so did feel a bit rough haha!

ooh gender scan, exciting!

MoonlightMojitos · 01/01/2017 12:12

Happy New Year ladies! Here's to our 2017 babies!!!

Not much to report here, 18+4 and just counting down the days til 20 week scan.

Welcome melon. I had an early scan at 5 1/2 weeks but wasn't told the heart rate, just that there was one which is very positive! So try not to worry. Seeing the heartbeat already is a really good sign.

Welcome ginger, so sorry for what you've been through. Congrats and here's to a healthy 9 months!

carrick so exciting! Not long at all now.

alb it's definately still a routine 16 week appointment, mine was made at my booking appointment so give them a call and see when you can see someone.

hbmelon · 01/01/2017 14:33

Thank you Moonlight.

fuzzywuzzy · 01/01/2017 15:38

Happy new year everyone.

Melon same as Mojito I had early scans till 10 weeks and each time they said there was a heartbeat but never what the rate was.

purpleviolet1 · 01/01/2017 16:05

Happy new year everyone! 27+2 today. Been feeling rubbish with a cold but when I feel the baby move it makes all the rubbish feeling sooo worth it.

Whatser can't believe you are already near the end. I remember you planning your maternity leave , going back for 8 days after NY etc. And also when we had our miscarriages together this time last year.

Alb, The 16 week app is a thing I believe. The midwife should've booked you in.

Got the big stuff for the baby (won't be delivered till I'm 36 weeks) and next mission is hospital bag.

Does anyone have any advice for what we need for baby when it's new born in terms
Of clothing bearing in mind my due date is 31/3? It'll be warmer than now obviously. Don't want to get too much but don't want to miss anything we might need either.

doleritedinosaur · 01/01/2017 16:42

Did they say when they're rescanning you hbmelon? Heartbeat is a good sign & welcome.

alb 16 week midwife is routine, usually just urine, blood pressure & possibly heartbeat.

Hope you get over your cold quickly purple DS is a March baby & I found vests/babygros with a baby jacket for outside plenty warm enough. & layering up with blankets.
It was definitely too hot for the fleece pram suits but I had 2 not too thick ones for when he was in the sling but I got them for 0-6 months or 3-6 to get more use out of them.

From June when it was warm he was sleeping mainly in a vest, either short or long sleeves & sometimes thin blanket.

I'll try & take photos of the suits/jackets in a bit that I mean.
