Thanks everyone Smile

Effy - my symptoms came and went in the 1st trimester. Try not to worry too much.

Hope everyone gets a good night's sleep tonight!

Whatsername17 · 23/12/2016 15:28

I'm 36 weeks today. Can't quite believe it really. This time last year we got the news that our 2nd baby had died at a scan. I've spent the day feeling paranoid that this is an unlucky day for us. Totally irrational of course but it's horrible. We are having dhs family over tonight for food so I'm distracting myself with cooking!

MrsAlanPartridge · 23/12/2016 15:56

@Effy- I'm one day behind you and also losing nausea, along with my sanity. Constantly worried that's it, game over. It's exhausting! Today I woke up and my boobs were not sore. I don't know where to put my head, so am focusing on Christmas and trying to relax. Having had 2 MMC before, I totally get where you're coming from Smile

purpleviolet1 · 23/12/2016 16:18

It's so so hard in the first trimester, the constant guessing is draining! We've all been there though and can fully understand where you are coming from.

26 weeks today (exactly 10 weeks behind you whatser!)

Feeling quite flat and exhausted, everything keeps getting on my nerves, especially DH. Sad not back to work till wednesday so hopefully will go well...

purpleviolet1 · 23/12/2016 16:19

Sorry I mean hopefully will be able to relax and switch off!

Naschkatze · 23/12/2016 17:43

Third trimesterers - has anyone booked/had a private growth/wellbeing scan?
I'm considering booking one as I'm constantly worrying about movement and that baby is still okay in there. It seems such a long time from 20 weeks to the final scan at 36 and I've read that a scan now to check growth, fluid, placenta etc can help pick up potential problems.
Thoughts? Confused

doleritedinosaur · 23/12/2016 18:10

Hope you get through the rest of the day whatser

lynsey I'm 29 weeks but this time around I just feel like I'm at the end. I have heartburn that hits at 2pm, the baby has gone really active & likes to play around so uncomfortable from that. I also struggle running after DS. Don't know how you cope!

Nasch I've got a scan booked at 32 weeks with NHS to see where my placenta is. I ended up having a 32 week 4D scan with DS while in hospital which was amazing. I feel if you want it/feel you need it, making the anxiety go away is worth it.

Hope those of you in the first trimester the time passes quickly. It is awful & you second guess everything.

I'm so uncomfortable today, baby is right under my ribs, I have to eat in stages so Christmas Day will be fun!

Just been DS'a third & final Christmas party, I could happily sleep.

LynseyH · 23/12/2016 18:42

I'm exactly 33 weeks today so 3 weeks behind you whatser! I'm still feeling pretty rubbish but just had a bath and that's helped takes some niggling nerve pains away.
dino I always wonder how you do what you do too! Always so active and on the go, you make me sleepy just thinking about it lol. I can't wait for bed again tonight, I really love it there anyway bit even more so these days!
We're taking the boys to a Santa's grotto tomorrow then home for movie time, munchies, Chinese and Christmas eve box opening! The box contains new pjs for the boys, lots of new games including classics like dominoes, lots of goodies and special santa keys Xmas Grin so excited for them to see it all.

Just to chip in on the private scans, I booked a 4d one but not for the same reasons and I'm glad I did. Echoing the previous comment, if it helps you, go for it!!

Naschkatze · 23/12/2016 19:01

Lots of us with Friday as the start of a new pregnancy week - I'm exactly 31 weeks today.

Sounds like a lovely Christmas Eve Lynsey. Can't wait for all of that excitement with a child/children! Our last Christmas without baby and DH is working until Boxing Day Xmas SadStill got lots of lovely things planned with both our families but it's not quite the same!

I'm in two minds about the scan. It's £100 which could easily be spent elsewhere and I don't know if I'm just being silly still worrying having got to this stage. I might feel better if I had a very active baby but mine is definitely sleepy. I've been in for monitoring once already and called them again today because I hadn't felt much.

jpeg28 · 23/12/2016 19:10

Nasch if it will put your mind at ease then I think it's worth it. I paid £100 for a scan at 7 weeks and it was the best money I have ever spent!! It's such a long time to go from 20 weeks to the end without a scan!

Alb1 · 23/12/2016 19:58

Hello, so busy at the moment with our new business I hardly get time to come on here at the minute.

Will be 15 weeks on Sunday, still have morning sickness, really hoping it eases soon.

nasch I'd go for it. If we'd have had a scan or monitoring at your stage, my baby's problem would have been picked up last time and she'd be a lovely 6 month old ready for her first Christmas now. Sorry if that sounds a bit too much, our case was so rare, I don't mean to scare monger. But if you feel it'd help your anxiety go for it, don't feel guilty about the money if you can afford it and want it because if it did pick something up (very unlikely) you'll be so glad you spent that money, and either way it's always a lovely treat to peak at the baby Smile

doleritedinosaur · 23/12/2016 20:08

Aw so many Fridays! I'm a Thursday.

We've actually had a slow week this week lynsey with no groups & DS being ill. Although I had cabin fever properly yesterday.
Aw Christmas boxes & Chinese sounds so good! Classic games are the best.
I can't wait to put DS in his Christmas pjs. We all give each other a book for Christmas Eve & may get DS to open one present so he's not overwhelmed Christmas Day.

Need to set up his main Christmas present then when he's asleep. He's definitely distracted & helped keep me upbeat this December. Just hope he does like his new sibling.

Nasch if it helps you, go for it & maybe try groupon or Facebook to see if there are any offers in your area. But also talk to your midwife, if you're going in for reduced movements they may want to scan you anyway.

I'm debating doing yoga to get this baby in a more comfortable position or clean floors, anything!

Naschkatze · 23/12/2016 21:40

Thanks all - I've booked one for next week. I think I will speak to midwife as well. The one I spoke to today wasn't concerned about movements because I'd done the advised kick count and got 10 within 2 hours. They were happy to see me still if I wanted but she reassured me. I just wonder if I should be feeling more or not but I've got nothing to compare it to.

doleritedinosaur · 23/12/2016 23:06

Sorry nasch I can't remember is your placenta anterior?

Some babies don't move as much & some people swear by the what they're like the womb is like what they're outside.
Which was true of DS, he was always wide awake at 11pm in & out.

Worrying me a bit as this one moves a lot!

The midwives always say if you're worried ring up & if you are then really don't dismiss it.

Can't believe it's almost Christmas Eve. Don't think I will sleep much tonight with the heartburn & uncomfortableness.

Naschkatze · 24/12/2016 07:17

No, posterior, unless it can change/sonographer made a mistake! Had lots of little wriggles overnight so I'm feeling a bit better and I'm glad I've got the scan booked. Will be lovely to see baby again.
Perhaps I've just got a very chilled out baby and he/she will be an easy newborn then WinkGrin.
Hope everyone slept well. Happy Christmas Eve!

XxBecxX · 24/12/2016 08:25

Merry Xmas eve my lovelies!
Been so busy here, trying to get the house ready and prepare 5 kids piles of prezzies plus shopping etc hard work!
Baby is wriggling a lot, he's especially busy at 3am and 6am lol
Think that may be his bobby times when he's born, I'm just soooo excited to hurry and get him!
SPD started in my pelvis at the back this time, but yesterday the impromptu shopping trip with the boys really took it out of me and I was in agony, the back pain is making me limp walk/waddle which isn't a good look lol
Had an appointment with my consultant MW which was great, we talked about my anxietys and my birth hopes and I told her that I'm very nervous about the PPH I had last time, as I've been induced all 5 times, only once did the MW say go home and wait and he will come on his own anyday, I declined and said I'd like to go ahead with the induction and they gave me the prostaglandin, I had minor niggles through the day, then was checked at 5pm, she said she thought she could break my waters, which she did, then left me and the hubby for a while, then I suddenly just felt odd and I had a pushing type feeling which, although he was baby number 3, the previous 2 births id had epidurals so the feeling was new to me, I screamed at him to go get the MW and she walked in casually and then started frantically buzzing for help as the baby's head was out!
Now I'm panicked as I know the niggles I felt that day would easily go a miss in my usual hectic day and for my waters to break at home would, based on that previous labour, gives us 15 minutes max to get to hospital, obviously if I knew id not bleed I'd not be too bothered and just give birth at home but that's not an option, plus that was also 3 births ago lol
She did say that she would closely monitor me and if the pain on the SPD got to overwhelming for me they would set me a date and take me in to see if they could break my waters and start me off, which although I'm not wanting to be tampered with, something about that makes me feel more comfortable because at least I'd be there where I'm relatively safe.
Got to wrap my last presents and then I've booked the cinema this evening for the bratz, they are excited as they are having their bath early getting their crimbo pj's on them going macdonalds then the movies, so they think that's cool lol

Well done to all the positive scans! and I'm definetly booking a 4d for 28weeks as I've never had one before, also I've always had the angelcare pad monitors and will be buying another.
Slings/wraps don't work for me as I've a terrible back but I did have a lovely massive piece of fabric type one once with a silver loop at the top and although it had little use it came in very handy!

LynseyH · 24/12/2016 08:27

Happy Christmas eve everyone!! Here's to a stressless, easy, joyful, happy and relaxed few days for us all!! (Maybe wishful thinking but we can try!!)
Have a lovely time everyone Xmas Grin

Happy Christmas Eve!

My back is giving me a lot of trouble at the mo. Also quite paranoid about baby movement. Is it enough or too much ? Last night it was kicking continuously for an hour and I worried it was in distress..

Do you guys keep track all the time? Like make sure you get 10 movements in 2 hours and then start again after the 2 hours are up?

Going to M&P this morning to order the nursery furniture and the pram, I think it's adding to my anxiety as I feel it's too early yet and things could still go wrong... but we wont be taking delivery until nearer the time and it's just so we can benefit from the sale prices.

Whastser just wanted to say I remember it was this time last year that we 'met' i remember your horrible experience over Christmas and can relate to the anxiety. I was admitted on NYE with sepsis and then miscarriage was discovered on the 5th and I took medical management on the 7th. It was a horrendous time. The due date of my 2nd miscarriage was 13th jan as well so perhaps all these things are playing on my mind.

26+1

jpeg28 · 24/12/2016 09:58

Happy Christmas Eve everyone!!

I'm getting so anxious about baby movement. For the past few days I have felt the odd kick but not really a lot. I wanted to get a kick counter but then I think I'll just get more worried! I suppose I'm not quite 24 weeks yet so hopefully movement will pick up soon. I'm also worried I confuse a kick with gas!! ConfusedBlush

I keep getting emails from mothercare about the baby I lost... "your baby is 10 weeks old"... no it's not!!! I have sent them so many emails etc and also changed the settings on my mothercare account but it won't work!! Some times I don't care but other times, like today, it makes me sad that I would have had a baby for xmas. Anyone had similar trouble and fixed it?

I hope everyone has a really relaxing time (well as relaxing as possible!) and those with children already... hope they all have an amazing day tomorrow! Cannot believe this time next year I'll have one of my own!!

Naschkatze · 24/12/2016 09:58

Purple As you've seen I'm also constantly worrying about movement. Sometimes I feel a different move and think it's a sign of something going wrongHmm
In answer to your question, no, I don't keep track all the time. When I went in for monitoring the MW at the hospital said if I was ever worried, to lie down on my left and count for 2 hours (I've used the kick counter on the pregnancy + app) and if I got to 10 then they wouldn't be worried. She said if I wasn't reassured I could still go in any time though. So I've done the count like that a couple of times in the last few weeks, when I felt that baby was being quiet. I think it's usually when I'm having a busy day, I don't notice movements as much.

I'm sorry it's a tough time for you (and Whatser). My miscarriage, which turned out to be molar, started on New Year's Day last year so it's playing on my mind too I think.

doleritedinosaur · 24/12/2016 11:29

Happy Christmas Eve everyone!

To all of those struggling I hope the time gets easier.

Mine is really active purple my bump almost looks terrifying but I think it's a more of a lack of movement the midwives worry about. I am going to ask my midwife though but then as my placenta with DS shielded movements he could have moved just as much.
I don't know if Mama's & Papas are the same but Mothercare when I ordered the travel system with DS at 14 weeks said as long as it's in the packaging they would take it back if something went wrong. So you could always ask?

Haha Nasch you could do! My friend's child wasn't a big mover & he's so chilled even now at 2.

jpeg That's awful of them, have you tried the customer response form? otherwise they have a complaint postal address.

My heartburn is really bad today & I really want cheesecake. Apparently the shops are dead here so I want to get out ASAP but I needed to sit down after cleaning & tidying all of upstairs.
Really need to ice the cake & finish downstairs.
OH finishes at 6pm & I just don't feel ready for Christmas even though we are!

Hope everyone has a lovely day & Christmas Day tomorrow.

INeedNewShoes · 24/12/2016 20:12

Flowers to those of you who have tough memories to contend with at this time of year.

I hope everyone can at least enjoy a good rest over the next few days.

I'm about to have a non-alcoholic mulled wine. Trying to have low expectations for it as I usually love mulled wine but funnily enough I doubt this non-alcoholic version will be quite as warming!

Merry Christmas everyone Xmas Smile

Whatsername17 · 24/12/2016 20:40

Having been through all three trimesters twice now, I think movements are the most difficult things to monitor. The truth is, movements do change from stage to stage. The baby's position plays a massive part in what you can feel. Not every baby has a pattern. The bottom line is, if you are worried then ring MAU. This babies will worry is but they will be worth it! Merry Christmas everyone. X

XxBecxX · 24/12/2016 20:41

Same thing happened to me jpeg, with mothercare, it kept saying x-amount of weeks pg, and no matter how I tried I couldn't get them to stop, in the end I changed my due date to a 7 months previous so it was saying your 7 month old, it still wasn't nice but at least those dates didn't have any meaning to me, then the mails eventually stopped.
I have purposely not signed up to any more of those this time round.

Feeling movements is really hard during the day with the front placenta jpeg, don't fret, look out for him in the morning and evening and see what you can feel then, like I've said this is the 6th time round for me so I know what to look out for and yet during the day while I'm on the move I don't really feel anything, it's mostly in the mornings and the evenings and when I sit down and have a cuppa.

With regards to lots of baby movements maybe you are eating it drinking something that is making the baby more active? I did mention previously I had a bit of craving for chocolate and that's when I started to really know the baby was in there lol

Xxx to all of you with worrying thoughts at the moment xxX

LynseyH · 25/12/2016 06:48

Just wanted to pop in and say HAPPY CHRISTMAS to you all. Kids are already up and I'm trying to hide under the covers a bit longer!!
Have a lovely day everyone xxx
