Finally done my bump picture! 32+2 today! Still got the flat front but not bothered as long as all is well on the inside. I'm hoping I don't pile on lots of weight in the last few weeks as my back is already protesting, definitely feel like I'm slowing down now but having 3 kids to run around after too is surely a factor in that! Thankfully the pains in my legs subsided so think I avoided the sciatica etc...phew.

Love these beautiful bump pictures!

Have ended up telling my parents today as DH let slip to my sister in the pub last night. She had guessed when I wasn't out too and he has no poker face whatsoever! They are all really pleased so i just hope its not another disappointment for them. I mc'd the day after i announced it last time and felt awful.

jpeg28 · 19/12/2016 13:31

23+5 and feeling massive!!!

Netflix I really hope everything is ok for you this time. I was the same as you... told my dad I was pg, the next day I miscarried. This time I still told them early on just because I can't keep a secret!

I mean 22+5...!

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 19/12/2016 17:55

Hello, jumping in from the ttc after mc thread.

Found out I was pregnant last week and had some spotting so freaked out and had an early scan at epu today - heartbeat and egg sack all in place. So feeling very happy but also trying not to get excited as am only 7 weeks and I know it's a long way to go yet.

Both previous mcs happened at 6+5 so glad to have passed that.

Netflix my first mc started the day after I told my mum and sis too. So very rubbish.
Going to tell them at Christmas, or just let them guess by the fact I'm not drinking!

LynseyH · 19/12/2016 20:14

I forgot to say thank you for the well wishes for my son, so thank you! He's now much better but youngest has come down with a nasty case of tonsillitis. Just home from the walk in centre :-/

I was worrying abit about movements today after saying how active she was a few days ago, as soon as I'd gone out in the cold, little miss had a fidget and made me desperate for a wee!! How typical.

Welcome imgonna and congratulations on this pregnancy. I'm sorry you have had the trauma of mc too.

Lovely bump pics!

To those further on, when does the midwife next do a blood test? I've had the booking one and the screening one but are there any more?

Hope everyone is getting christmassy now! Can't wait to have some time off.

Welcome imgonna! And congrats on the scan.

LynseyH · 19/12/2016 22:33

Roughly 28 weeks moonlight. Mine were about 30 weeks but that's cos the midwife was on holiday and we'd missed each other prior to her going away.

OP posts:
fuzzywuzzy · 19/12/2016 22:49

Moonlight I have glucose tolerance test scheduled for 28 weeks.

I don't think everyone gets it tho only those who are at risk of gestational diabetes.

I've had the most horrendous day at work, I actually think my work chair is causing the SPD to get worse I could barely move each time I stood up today. The thought of going thro that again is not something I am bear.

I've had frantic google online and gymball chairs are recommended, has anyone tried them?

I'm think I'm going to ask for one at work I can't actually function tonight I can barely stand or walk without support my back low down my front hurts so much.

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 20/12/2016 08:09

fuzzy ask work to do a workplace assessment for you, they should do a pregnancy risk assessment too and provide you with any reasonable adjustments to help you. This includes a comfy chair!

Thanks for the welcomes. Feeling very tired and super achey back today, not sure if pregnancy symptoms or because OH has passed on his cold as an early Christmas prezzie.

jpeg28 · 20/12/2016 08:35

fuzzy that sounds awful. When I had my risk assessment I mentioned my SPD and they said they would reassess it every month so definitely get them to do that for you. Have you tried swimming? It's really helped mine so far but yours does sound pretty bad. Have you been referred to physio??

purpleviolet1 · 20/12/2016 08:52

25+4 today. Loving the bump pics. I feel huge!!!

Mamas and papas sale has started for anyone interested. We have booked a full works appt tomorrow to try and choose some items. So much choice.

SPD is really bad. The pregnancy pillow I bought is worth every penny, wish I got it earlier and fully recommend it.

NetflixandBill · 20/12/2016 19:41

Thanks for the replies everyone! jpeg i'm glad to see you doing so well! I remember you from the ttc after mc thread and i think we were around the same time (april?) . Can't wait to have my own bump pics to share.

Definitely feeling more strange. I am weeks behind on my advent calendar. Just had two chocs and have had to give the rest to dh as i just don't fancy it. I also have not made myself a cup of tea for about three weeks. I feel like a total impostor!

Welcome imgonna. I hope you have a great pregnancy!

Rebeccaj1985 · 20/12/2016 20:19

Been a week since my scan and today im in pain 🙁 One side of my back is in pain and low down pain in stomach.... achy all day today and just can't pin point what it is, have been able to eat a bit more than normal today but generally feeling bleurgh! So going to have a nice bath and bed with a hot water bottle!
Don't know if this is the kind of pain to be worried about or even to speak to midwife about, I should be 10+2 today
Hope everyone's doing well! And all ready for Christmas x

jpeg28 · 20/12/2016 20:45

Welcome imgonna! Sounds like pg symptoms and xmas illness thrown into one!

netflix I remember you too! Great to see you on here! I MC in march so about the same time as you. Still can't believe I'm actually pregnant!

purple lovely bump pic and thanks for the mamas and papas tip!

Rebecca it could just be your uterus growing? I remember all sorts of pains at around 11 weeks and I was so worried. And also feeling utter crap for weeks on end! It does pass I promise!

I felt the baby kick properly today when I was in the bath in our lovely babymoon lodge Smile having an anterior placenta sucks but now that he has kicked I feel a little more relaxed!

MoonlightMojitos · 20/12/2016 20:57

Ah jpeg that's nice! You're 5 weeks ahead of me and I'm counting down the days til I feel movement! Anterior placenta here too. Hope you're having a lovely time!

rebecca I've had cramps and twinges and all sorts of pains the whole time so far and everything is going well so I'm sure it's just all stretching and stuff in there. I also find I get cramps/light pain whenever I need a wee or poo or have wind or anything else at all related down there seems to also make my womb ache too?!

Tonight I've made a list of everything we will need to buy for baby and Googled bestsellers/recommendations of the lot... pram, cot/moses basket, car seat, the list is so long and an awful lot of money! Hoping we can get a few bits in the Jan sales after 20 week scan.

purple my brother has bought me a big U pillow for Christmas, can't wait!

Hope everyone else is doing well :)

doleritedinosaur · 20/12/2016 21:29

Welcome imgonna

rebecca it could be stretching or trapped wind but if you are worried can always check with midwife.

jpeg aww that's lovely for first kick! Hope you continue to get more.

With buying moonlight have you tried camel camel camel with Amazon for price watching certain things, it's really handy.
Also facebook local groups & eBay are really useful. I managed to get DS a brand new Sophie someone didn't need even in the box for less than half the normal price with postage too.

Baby has shifted tonight, don't know if head is now under my left ribs instead of butt under my right ribs.
DS has been ill so have been trying to keep him happy & hoping he's better for Christmas.

Hope everyone has a good week.

Rebeccaj1985 · 20/12/2016 21:48

Thanks all, I think I'll see how the pain is tomorrow and if it's still quite painful I'll speak to MW better to be safe and at least then it may put my mind at rest too, don't want to spend Christmas worrying. Thanks again, so glad I joined Mumsnet x

INeedNewShoes · 21/12/2016 00:00

On the subject of buying baby things, I'd like to know what some of you might do in this situation if you were on a fairly tight budget...

I'm pretty sure I know exactly which car seat I want as I've done lots of research and have settled on one that will be more suitable than others for long journeys (my parents live 300 miles away). To buy the carseat and compatible pushchair would usually cost £650 which is more than I want to spend (I had £500 in mind). A shop local to me is selling the set at a reduced price of £450 but I don't like the colour.

Would you buy the reduced-price travel system despite not being keen on the colour?

(This might all be academic if my 20-week scan doesn't go well on Thursday.)

doleritedinosaur · 21/12/2016 00:24

Would you want to see if the colour you want comes down in price ineed?
How long has it been at the £650? Is there a way of getting offers?
Also is it on mothercare who do coupons off certain spends? Or toys r us who do the same to bring the price down?

I'd say if you don't like the colour & it won't grow on you then it's not worth it.

Has anyone with older children used the Ewan sleep? I'm debating getting one. Trying to talk myself out of the sleepyhead, mostly working.

INeedNewShoes · 21/12/2016 00:31

Thanks dolerite

Mothercare have it in two colours which are both much nicer. It's full price at £625. Are the coupons the online voucher code sort?

I keep meaning to look at the contents of the Bounty pack my midwife gave me in case it's full of offers!

doleritedinosaur · 21/12/2016 00:38

Yep they have so much off £100 spends & they do offers with travel systems. You can sign up online now as the coupons take a while to come through & are emailed to you.
They also have them in store I think.

Also you could find out if they have an expectant parent event coming up & you get an extra 10% off that night as well, it might even be longer but when we went we used it that night. They also give you a goody bag & talk through different products like car seats/cots/everything.

Meant we saved £220 off our travel system in the end even though now I'm only using the car seat as I prefer the Quinny buzz.

doleritedinosaur · 21/12/2016 00:40

The bounty pack doesn't have much offers forgot to say but if you take it to where it says on a form inside you do get free samples of stretch mark cream/nappy cream but it's mainly full of junk.

I did the emma's diary as well & have got enough stretch mark cream for the year plus loads of nappy creams & a days worth of newborn nappies haha.

They used to have good stuff & vouchers but not anymore.

Whatsername17 · 21/12/2016 08:39

I decided that I needed to do the pre Christmas clean yesterday. After blitzing upstairs I went to see my mum and then did downstairs on my return. We have an open plan living room, dining room and conservatory and I decided, at 35+4, to polish the wood floor that we have down in all three 'rooms'. But because my mop head was in the wash, I got down on my hands and knees and used the spray cleaner and kitchen roll. Why the heck did I think that was a good idea?!!

INeedNewShoes · 21/12/2016 08:43

I believe it's called 'nesting' Whatsername Smile

I'm relying on nesting instinct arriving here at some point. There is so much that needs doing in my house!
