Yeah basically I'm a FTM, over being pregnant and just wanted to hear some statistics off people who already have given birth and which week it was?

Also howwww did you go into labour, were you relaxed that day or active?

I'm quite worried that I'm not doing enough, I took early maternity leave because of SPD hip & back agony so am probably too relaxed!

34 weeks, due on New Year's Eve & really would love her to be here before Christmas lol :( x

33+4 for no known reason. Waters went at 5am. Contractions started 9.30am. Born by c-section at 2.20pm as was breech and in distress.

Dixiechick17 · 20/11/2016 22:23

40+5 had a lazy day on the couch, having declared that nothing was working, went to bed that night and woke up to regular period pains, waters started to trickle early hours and my DD arrived before breakfast :)

orangebird69 · 20/11/2016 22:36

39+6. Waters broke at 1am after a vindaloo 6 hours before.... Ds was born 12 hours later.

LilMissVixen · 20/11/2016 22:41

38+2. Waters broke at 38 weeks exactly, but no contractions. Ended up being induced and then having an emcs.

Had a busy weekend but normal few days after (waters broke on a Wednesday late afternoon).

onedayimightforget · 20/11/2016 22:46

28 weeks with my first

33 weeks with my second

Please don't wish your pregnancy away. The alternative - weeks in NICU/SCBU can have a far greater and lasting impact on you than being pregnant and uncomfortable for a few more weeks. You're already further than I have ever managed to get and for that I am incredibly jealous.

DS 1 40+6 72 hours Angry early morning

DS 2 40+4 36 hours evening

They take their sweet time my boys Grin

Stacey46 · 20/11/2016 22:57

35 + 6. I was decorating baby's room the day before so I was pretty active. I had placenta previa and had a c-section. Xx

Ohyesiam · 20/11/2016 23:12

42 weeks with both. I have a friend who is a doctor in Paris, and in France a pregnancy is 41 weeks......

SunnySideDownUp · 20/11/2016 23:26

39 weeks exactly with dd. I'd been moderately active, very slow start to labour though (Fri lunchtime start, delivered at 2345 Sunday).

Currently 38+2 with second. Lots of practice contractions but nothing exciting yet.

Kel1234 · 21/11/2016 00:24

I gave birth at 40+6. I was due on August 30th, which was a Sunday, started getting contractions on the Tuesday. Was due for a sweep on Wednesday but declined as wanted to see if it would happen naturally. It didn't so had a sweep on the Friday afternoon. Went to the birth centre on the Friday night at 9pm, and gave birth at 6.58 Saturday morning. Midwife had to break my waters at 3am as baby's (we didn't know if it was a boy or girl as didn't want to) head wasn't engaged.
I was small though, only measured 30 weeks at 37 weeks pregnant. Baby was born at 40+6 weighing 6lb 7oz.

LittleLionMansMummy · 21/11/2016 07:02

39 exactly. Really loooooong early labour phase (Friday evening to Sunday) and relatively quick once in hospital (3 hours). Currently 39+6 - and it's ds1's birthday today! Grin Actually hoping baby 2 will hold off till tomorrow!

pinkieandperkie · 21/11/2016 07:03

37 weeks. The same for 3dc

OpalTree · 21/11/2016 07:05

41 weeks

pullingmyhairout1 · 21/11/2016 07:08

43 + 3

Was semi-induced.

Second + 5 also semi-induced

Isitjustmeorisiteveryoneelse · 21/11/2016 07:16

All 42,
all induced.

shirkingworking · 21/11/2016 09:18

38+2 (under 2.5 hours from waking up)

36 +0 (1 hr 20 mins from first small twinge)

38+0 after a few stop-starts and spd (broke waters as already dilated from stop-starts) - about 1 hr 20 mins again

Good luck!! Number 3 was due on NYE but came 2 weeks early...

Lamaitresse · 21/11/2016 12:38

39+5 with first. Went for a curry the night before, had a massive long walk 4 days before...

Went into labour with second dc at 37+5, I think due to squeezing my nipples in an attempt to toughen them up for breastfeeding 🙈 A friend of mine who lived in Japan advised me to do this, only starting at 37 weeks as it can cause contractions. Labour came to a halt at 3cm, and didn't start again until I did the same thing at 39+2. She was born the following day 😄

Good luck!

ispymincepie · 21/11/2016 13:41

42+2 induced reluctantly, quick and easy birth
40+5 spontaneous, hb, longish latent phase, quick delivery
38+4 SROM at night in bed, caught me totally by surprise, born next afternoon at home again
42+0 spontaneous, unassisted home birth, almost a month longer gestating than #3 (I would have declined IOL until 42+5)

Bluebell20 · 21/11/2016 13:44

41+6. Two sweeps, then induced, ended up with emergency caesarean. Sorry :(

My baby boy is 4 months old now and I've almost forgotten how tedious the waiting period was, I'd that helps?!

NKffffffffd826be10X12327b6cd81 · 21/11/2016 13:54

42 weeks. Was going to be induced on the Monday. Spent the Sunday walking in the park in the freezing cold and contractions started that night. They come when they're ready!

UnoriginalNN · 21/11/2016 15:12

Enjoy every moment of this time to yourself as a first time mother - it's the last time you get to be selfish. For the longest time. It's frustrating esp when it's a hard pregnancy but, ahhhhhh, I miss those weeks I wished away Grin

Annabrooke90 · 21/11/2016 17:23

42 weeks

40+5

38

34

31

My first was induced. The rest were all spontaneous. All been very long too. Being early though is a terribly rough time; even at 34 weeks.

AmaDablam · 21/11/2016 17:39

41+3. Had a sweep at lunchtime on the previous day, mild contractions started within half an hour, had them on and off throughout the afternoon and evening. Stronger contractions started at 11pm, gave birth at 6am.

I tried to get out for a walk, even if it was just 10 mins once I was on maternity leave and had a pregnancy pilates dvd I did a fair bit, though if I'm honest I probably spent most of the last 2 or 3 days sleeping or having emotional meltdowns at the slightest provocation!

PurpleTraitor · 21/11/2016 17:41

42+3 for my first, not induced.

PurpleTraitor · 21/11/2016 17:45

So basically if my first had been due 31/12 the actual date of birth would have been 16/1.

I spent the day in bed the day before I gave birth. Baby shot out in the middle of the afternoon. Who is to know what will happen!
