Yeah basically I'm a FTM, over being pregnant and just wanted to hear some statistics off people who already have given birth and which week it was?

Also howwww did you go into labour, were you relaxed that day or active?

I'm quite worried that I'm not doing enough, I took early maternity leave because of SPD hip & back agony so am probably too relaxed!

34 weeks, due on New Year's Eve & really would love her to be here before Christmas lol :( x

35+6 with first. Waters started leaking at five am.

Went to hospital and was kept in overnight as infection risk and because I wasn't term yet. No contractions.

Went down next morning and was 5cm dilated. Back waters were burst, contractions started straight away and an hour and ten mins later she was born. No issues. Was very easy and straightforward.

Second I bent down to put washing away and waters started leaking. No contractions. Headed to hospital and walked in door and they went with a gush and contractions started again full pelt. Was six cm and she was born 45 mins later. 38 weeks.

With my third I woke in the night to my body bearing down involuntarily pushing. No contractions though. Rushed to hospital panting all the way to slow down the pushing. Got in assesment room and had him in minutes. He was 39+5.

I have been very lucky with my labours and births. Good luck when the time comes.

MrsHam13 · 20/11/2016 11:23

Oh by the way I was most active with my first. The least active with the second probably.

HubbleBubbles · 20/11/2016 11:41

Dc1 - 5 days over, labour started in the evening, had had a long walk and a curry that day!
Dc2 - 3 days over, labour started early afternoon, didn't try anything special .

35 weeks. Elective c section due to failing placenta.

As others have said, by all means wish the weeks away but you really don't want your baby just yet!

MYA2016 · 20/11/2016 15:08

Had sweep on the morning of my due date, went into labour 6 hours later and baby born 14 hours after that

Oysterbabe · 20/11/2016 15:52

35+5. I'd just got back from staying with the inlaws for Christmas. They're big fans of dragging me out for walks like I'm a fucking dog. The day before I'd hiked up a massive hill. Woke up in the night and felt a bit damp. Stood up to a big gush of waters. Contractions started at about 4 that afternoon and she was born 5 hours later..
She had a few issues due to being early and a short stay in NICU.

41+2 though I had a 3 day labour starting 40+6! Pretty active the day it begun x

Gracey79 · 20/11/2016 19:36

40+1

FrogTime · 20/11/2016 19:42

I was 41 weeks exactly. Off work for 7 weeks before birth because of back and hip pain.
Was reasonably active, did the cleaning etc and tried to go out as much as I could. I was in pain but relaxed!

Hulaballoo · 20/11/2016 19:44

1st 39+6
2nd 40+1

OvariesForgotHerPassword · 20/11/2016 19:46

37 weeks. Induced for pre eclampsia.

Uiscebeatha85 · 20/11/2016 19:47

39 weeks, felt a niggle in my cervix in bed first thing, stood up and GUSH!

Ended up being induced 36 hours later and Dd born at 2.30am

goldielookingchain · 20/11/2016 19:48

40+2 went into labour naturally

GrumpySausage · 20/11/2016 19:50

39+6 weeks. Woke up about 4.30am by a weird pop around my pelvis, went back to sleep and then woke up around 8.30 with contractions.

I was fairly active the day before. I'd cooked tea which is a rarity for me so we joke now the shock of having to cook brought on labour.

Joinourclub · 20/11/2016 19:50

42 + 3

Pluto30 · 20/11/2016 19:51

41+2.

Bigfam · 20/11/2016 19:54

37+3 with my first, only 6 hours in labour.
Impatiently waiting for number 5 to show signs that she'd like to arrive, am 37+2 today....

HeyhoSwashbuckleandgo · 20/11/2016 20:00

40+4
Lots of ball bouncing from about 38 weeks!
Good luck

Ilovepsychology · 20/11/2016 20:29

40 + 15

40 weeks exactly

Both induced

Nuttypops · 20/11/2016 20:51

40+3, went into labour on due date and she was born 3 days later. I went for a 5 mile walk on the morning of my due date, desperate to get things moving. Contractions started a few hours later. I wish I had just rested and not rushed about as I was exhausted after the walk and had a long, slow labour.

Currently 38 weeks with DC2 and no 5 mile walks planned this time!

Chickydoo · 20/11/2016 21:11

36 weeks DD1
37 weeks DS1
39 weeksDs2
36 weeks DS 3

Error404usernamenotfound · 20/11/2016 21:18

40 + 12. I'd tried to be active but was just knackered, sleep-deprived, and uncomfortable, so didn't really do much in the last week or two. Had a sweep at 40 + 10, contractions started during the following night and DD finally graced us with her presence about 24 hours after that.

Hope your little one is less reticent!

cakeandteajustforme · 20/11/2016 21:24

I'm 37+2 and curious - did many of you wear a pad in the weeks leading up to the birth? It seems like a bit of a faff, but then lots of you said it goes in bed and I'm not sure what the best way to protect the mattress is?!

LifeLong13 · 20/11/2016 21:33

40 weeks. Did so much walking. Did loads of walking my whole pregnancy.

Contractions started 6am Friday, went to hospital 7am Saturday, waters broke 7pm Saturday. She was born 7pm Sunday.

CPtart · 20/11/2016 21:43

40+5. Waters broke on the loo during the night. 24 hour labour thereafter.
