Yeah basically I'm a FTM, over being pregnant and just wanted to hear some statistics off people who already have given birth and which week it was?

Also howwww did you go into labour, were you relaxed that day or active?

I'm quite worried that I'm not doing enough, I took early maternity leave because of SPD hip & back agony so am probably too relaxed!

34 weeks, due on New Year's Eve & really would love her to be here before Christmas lol :( x

Sorry, just realised there is a second part to your question...

First time my waters broke in the early hours of the morning (I was in bed but awake because I had just been for a wee). I had no contractions at all and there was meconium in my waters so I was induced with a drip.

Second time I was shopping in Asda, went from nothing to contractions 3 minutes apart. Abandoned shopping, mad dash to parents' house to drop dd off. Started with contractions at about 3, ds born just after 6.

I've had 4. One was born slightly early, don't wish that on yourself Flowers. I know it can be horrible in the last months but with any luck the baby might drop or shift position and give you some relief.

I was 39 weeks and a couple of days. Two days before I wanted to clean the house badly!! The day before I felt very sick allllllll day. That night I could not get comfortable and wasn't really tired.... I did fall asleep and woke up 5am with a contraction and mucus coming out. It was a lot of mucus and I actually thought it was my waters but they said it was my mucus plug

Sorry, also, had sweeps with both DS1 3 days before birth, DS2 day before birth.

DS1 - had contractions on and off for 3 days (had not felt relaxed).

DS2 - had been pottering about, 9.30pm had massive Chinese, watched a bit of TV. 11pm went to sleep. 1.30am woke up with niggling contraction. Half an hour later full on contractions. DS2 born at 3.30am in A&E (had to flag passing ambulance down on way to hospital). So just 2.5hrs beginning to end.

38+2 - I was still at work that day. I'd also taken the dogs for a walk and sorted the horse out. Went for a meal with NCT crew then got home and waters broke.

This one was 40+4 I was off work but had walked the dog twice that day and sorted horses out and been to PIL for a curry. Waters didn't break till head crowned but the contractions started straight after getting into bed.

Oh, and in answer to the second part, I went on mat leave at 37 weeks and had days when I was relaxed and barely got off the sofa, and days when I walked for miles - nothing made any difference!

40+3

Had a sweep 1 day after DD. 24h later started feeling irregular tightenings which became regular period like pains that night at 9pm. 4am waters broke and he was born midday that afternoon.

I started mat leave at 33 weeks due to hip pain and ongoing sickness. Wasn't particularly active as everything I did was painful!

34+1 weeks in the afternoon.
Hadn't started maternity yet and baby wasn't engaged even an hour before birth. Waters broke in the morning but no labour signs so was given a steroid injection and antibiotics. Was about to get sent home from hospital after observations and examinations that said I was definitely not in labour but that my waters just broke early when I got a contraction and the baby arrived 17 minutes later.

Having an early baby is so scary. I know that is definitely not what you are wanting but every day and week you are pregnant really helps even though the last weeks must feel really slow!
