What a post rubles, I think that is honestly the longest I've seen. Your a legend.

Good Luck at the scan

rubles · 15/03/2007 11:59

Whoops, it was a bit long wasn't it! It's been so long since I posted.

So Firststar - are you finding out the sex?

pinkranger · 15/03/2007 11:59

Firststar - good Luck friday half way there

I am 17 +1 and it seems time has flown by , idont have my next scan until 22+3 which i just ages away!! cant wait but we already know its a boy but just want to get that final one out of the way!!

Hop that everyone is well

ejt1764 · 15/03/2007 12:24

Good luck rubles - thinking of you!

pinkranger - nice to see you - hopefully nobody else will have any bad news!

Mumpbump - I hope your mum gets better soon.

I'll write about ds's birth another time - I don't think it's really appropriate for this thread ...

DS spent last night in bed with me - I got up to him 3 times between 12 and 1.30 - the final time he was complaiing of a 'bad feeling' - so he came into bed with me, and went straight to sleep clutching my arm and Woolly (bet you can't guess what animal it is). This morning when we got up, I went to dohis milk - and the milk was off - well, that was me gone - throwing up into the kitchen sink ... ds just sat there saying 'are you ok mammy?'. Took him to the childminder, then went straight back to bed ... have just come back from acupuncture, and feel much better! I'm supposed to be singing at the stadium on Saturday, and the acupuncturist has said that if I'm feeling dreadful, then to give her a ring, and she'll sort me out ... what a wonderful woman she is!

Right, off to go and eat something ...

love to all

Thanks everyone for your words of suport yesterday when I was feeling crappy. Definitely feel better today. Still worried but guess that is normal.

Rubles good luck with your scan and booking appointment. Yes my booking is tomorrow.

Big hi to everyone else - haven't managed to read all threads yet as I always miss the evening stuff.

Glimmer · 15/03/2007 13:50

Hi Rubles.

Good luck for your scan!!!!!!

Sure I remember you -- you were the first person to answer my first ever thread (can't believe how naive I was then)!!!!
Thank you so much for the link -- I think it could be relevant. Was actually already wondering about it. I find knowlege empowering, so please, please always share info/advice with me!!!
Yes, DH is moving here at the beginning of June. We have been married for 10yrs and are very close emotionally, but I am looking very forward to actually life together again! Had orginally agreed to not TTC until then, but changed our plans in the-spur-of-a-moment, IYKWIM.
Right now I am just counting hours until my fisrt scan next Tuesday (at 6 weeks). Bled for 10 consequutive days but bleeding has stopped now for 4. Don't really know what to think, I "just" have to wait and see.
Godd luck to everybody else

Mumpbump · 15/03/2007 13:59

Glimmer - finally registered that you are a) D4phne and b) pregnant. Don't know why the pg bit didn't click when I saw you posting on the limbo thread. Congratulations!! I remember you posting about your ordeal on the ttc after m/c thread so I'm pleased that things have worked out after all...

ejt1764 · 15/03/2007 14:08

firststar - permission to be very excited?

I've been taking part in a tv programme for S4C called codi canu (means raise your voices), where they have put together 4 choirs - 1 for each of the rugby regions in Wales (Blues, Dragons, Scarlets and Ospreys). The idea was to try to improve the quality of singing on the terraces. I'm a big Blues fan, and love singing, so jumped at the chance. We've been practicing since September and each choir will sing one of the songs they've learnt on the pitch before the game on Saturday. They choir that is deigned to have won will then sing the anthem, and win tickets to the game. The non-winning choirs go next door to Cardiff Arms park and watch the game on the big screen, and get hospitality!

It's been a fantastic experience - and I'm so excited about going to sing on the pitch at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday! It's been brilliant spotting myself on tv too! (oh, there I am, and again ... total tv time in the who,e series = about 2 minutes) Look out for the choir singing the anthem before the game on Saturday - if it's the Blues (strangely, we'll be wearing Blue shirts!), then I'm in the altos!

Hi Mumbump. Yes I am a) d4phne, but thought I definitely need a new name for a hopefully better experience....As to b) I am thinking of myself as testing positive, not soo much as pg.
It think chances are high I already lost it in the first 10 days, just don't know yet. Maybe it's some sort of self-protection mechanism, so it wont hit me equally hard this time.

Mumpbump · 15/03/2007 14:58

When are you having your first scan, Glimmer?

ejt1764 · 15/03/2007 15:01

Glimmer - just want to send you massive hugs - the glimmer of hope is still there ...

firststar - I've always been fairly musical (played the piano and trombone whilst at school - they've fallen along the wayside since I left!) - but I've always enjoyed singing, but have never sung in a choir before - and it's a complete buzz! I'm trying to find a choir to join after this experience finishes - the choir mistress has suggested I try out for the BBC chorus (I nearly fell over!), but I think I may start smaller than that ... the only problem is fitting it around all our other commitments ... all the local choirs seem to rehearse on Tuesdays or Wednesdays - which are the only nights of the week I can't do!

Never mind - I'm sure I'll find something - the Blues choir are going to be carrying on anyway - even if we just sing at Blues games, so I can stick with that for the time being.

Woooozle100 · 15/03/2007 15:48

hello ladies
I don't post much. I had my first scan today (8+4). I was so scared - crying in the waiting room surrounded by all the happy bumps. All went great - am measuring smack on for dates and saw HB. Started crying again on hearing / seeing this which made the scanning a bit tricky!

Hope this doesn't upset people dealing with not so good stuff at the mo. This is 5th time lucky for me (I carry rare genetic disorder that's mostly fatal) so I really can empathise with that feeling of not wanting to hear about other people's good pg experiences.

Best of luck to everyone else x

Hi Ejb - that sounds very encouraging. At the risk of asking an insensitive question, does that mean that you are now considered to have a "viable" pg (horrible phrase), taking into account the genetic thing?

rubles · 15/03/2007 17:19

Well I am very pleased to say that I had my scan and all was well with my baby, who really looked like a proper baby this time with arms, legs, fingers, nose, eyes. It was just beautiful.

When I got there it turned out to be a nuchal scan (I thought it was only a dating scan so was a bit of a surprise), which I had decided I didn't want, so for a moment I was really torn about whether just to have the nuchal anyway, but I stuck to my original decision and asked them not to look at anything downs-related. It was tempting at the time though.

Glimmer · 15/03/2007 17:23

What good news rubles and ejb! I am very happy for you. My first scan will be next Tuesday (week 6 only).

Hillbilly · 15/03/2007 17:55

Congrats ejb and rubles on your good scans

MrsFish · 15/03/2007 19:10

Hi MumpBump, I am due on 1st October

fettle · 15/03/2007 20:11

Rubles - congratulations - that's great news!!! So hope mine is as positive next Friday - nearly only a week to wait now!!

Anyway, love to all

xxx

Woooozle100 · 15/03/2007 21:00

Ooh congrats Rubles! And fingers crossed Glimmer for next week.

I'm not completely out of the woods yet - have cvs booked for 2nd april. Having all sorts of thoughts over whether to go through with it or not. Its complicated - my dd has health, developmental and growth probs as a result of this. Really would not want to bring another child into the world with all those problems - and practically think it would be too tough with 2 sick kids but not entirely comfortable with what that actually means. Having good talks with dh and will just do what feels right on 2nd

ladypanda · 15/03/2007 21:09

Hi everyone,

You all seem to have a lot of experience on your side, I'm just 5 weeks pregnant after 3 years and 2 miscariiages, so feeling pretty nervous. I'm having all sorts of little twinges and tensions in my tummy, nothing painful, I'm just very very aware. And very paranoid! I know there's not really any such thing, but is this normal?

Mumpbump · 16/03/2007 09:41

Morning all!!! And what a beautiful morning it is here in London... Spring is well and truly on its way, it seems...

Rubles - congratulations!! Hearing about your scan makes me impatient to get to mine so I can see the baby properly... The 8 week scan was a blob and not much more.

Welcome Ladypanda - I think it's fair to say that there are a lot of us who have had little niggles in the early weeks. I certainly did and am almost 12 weeks without any problems, so I think it's down to everything stretching.

Ejb - I was just reading about CVS and amniocentesis today. Just out of interest, why did you opt for CVS, rather than an amnio or did you need to have CVS because of what they are looking for?

MrsFish - just remembered that you posted on the October antenatal thread - put it down to having no memory at all at the moment...

Glimmer - not too long to wait until your first scan!

Firststar - hope your scan is going well and that you get confirmation that baby is hale and hearty!! Looking forward to hearing your news...

I'm feeling fairly upbeat today. Ds had a temperature last night so I went to bed at 21:30 expecting to be up in the night (dh is now away snowboarding). He woke me up murmuring at about 03:00, but didn't actually wake up and then slept through until 06:30 which is virtually unheard of... So I had 9 hours of pretty much unbroken sleep last night!!! How good do I feel today! Only (very slightly) worrying thing is that I can't feel any bump in my lower abdomen when I lie down and I was kind of thinking I probably would be able to by now... Anyway, roll on Wednesday and the next point of reassurance!!
