Just that really. I'm 35+1 now and feel seriously huge, and I keep bumping into things. Everything feels like a bloody effort. I have a 2 year old DD who I am exhausted by as she has limitless energy. And I have to pee approximately 8000 times a day.

Part of me just wants this to be over now, but then I also am freaked out about having to cope with a toddler and a newborn, so another part of me just wants this baby to stay a bump for as long as possible.

There must be some other ladies out there in the late pregnancy stage who would like to pull up a chair and have a moan with me? Maybe whilst eating Cake ?

I'm keeping going until Wednesday (39+5)! I have a desk job so not as bad as it sounds.

I kind of thought putting on my form that I was stopping really late would encourage the baby to come early. That worked well, eh!

KitKat1985 · 04/11/2016 20:47

Oh fingers crossed Kittenrush! The twinges sound hopeful.

Amarok at 39 weeks you definitely qualify! I'm only 36+4. As far as I'm concerned anyone about 8 months and over qualifies as being in late pregnancy. I'm amazed you haven't finished work yet too! How are you coping?

Sorry x-post Amarok. You're my hero! Smile

I work with mostly guys, I'm getting a bit of a perverse kick out of them trying to make polite chat in the lifts and saying "when are you due?" and me saying "Now!" and watching the panic descend across their face Grin

I just hope if something does happen in the next few days then I can quietly sneak out and take myself home at first signs, rather than any dramatic waters gushing or anything. I'd be so embarrassed if that happened.

KitKat1985 · 04/11/2016 21:08

Well I hope you do manage to get to finish work before your baby makes an appearance so you at least get a few days to relax! Is it your first? My first was born at 39+2 but I know a lot of first time mums do go a few days over! x

AyeAmarok · 04/11/2016 21:15

It is my first - that probably explains my ignorance about when I should stop work!

Those of you who have had sweeps, are they painful? I will be getting one in 10 days if nothing has happened by then, I'm a bit apprehensive about it.

Cococrumble · 04/11/2016 21:30

Hello can I join please? 38 weeks and I'm completely exhausted! I can't make it through the day without a long afternoon nap. Can't wait for the little madam to arrive!!

I have a permanently wriggly baby and it's gotten to the point where the movements are so strong that they're actually making me retch Sad I'm so crap at being pregnant!

Kittenrush · 04/11/2016 21:49

I'm not much of a worrier but I was really apprehensive about my sweep too. I'm really bad with any internal exams ever since a bad sexual experience in my early twenties so I was really shitting it. However, it was the least painful thing ever, as long as you relax. I had prepared myself for the worst so I was really surprised that it really did not hurt at all

AyeAmarok · 04/11/2016 21:54

That's reassuring Kitten, thanks. Smile

Gabby786 · 05/11/2016 02:24

I have to agree with KITTEN. I was so nervous but I had mine yesterday and it didn't hurt a bit. And tbh if you can't handle a sweep then childbirth will be fucked for you lol

KitKat1985 · 05/11/2016 08:18

Hello Cococrumble. Nice to have another member! Sounds like you have a future Olympic hopeful in there!

I'm afraid I've never had a sweep (as I say my first was a few days early, so never had any need) so can't offer any advice on that front Amarok. I would say though that 10 days is quite a way away yet, so your baby may well make their entrance to the world before you get to your sweep date.

Just had a bit of a show and am getting some weird coloured pinky discharge. Feel like I need to poop but can't. Anyone who's given birth before...is this hopeful? 40+3 today.

Nuttypops · 05/11/2016 09:39

Kittenrush, sounds like your body starting to get ready to me. I had similar a few days before I had my first. Get some rest today if you can I think.

36 weeks here, can I join in? Throughly had enough now! I am so grumpy and tired, poor DH and DD must be sick of me being so emotional. This is the home stretch thank goodness! DD (aged 2) was born at 40+3 so I am really hoping not to go over that this time.

KitKat1985 · 05/11/2016 09:49

Kittenrush I had my show at about 5pm one evening with DD and had a baby girl at 4.19am, so I'd say the show is definitely a sign that something is afoot. Fingers crossed for you!

Welcome Nuttypops! I think we're both on the December babies thread together as well (although with me as an imposter now, as my due date got revised to November). We're at a similar point though as I'm 36+5 today. x

Nuttypops · 06/11/2016 07:47

Thanks Kitkat, not long to go now thank goodness! Nov sounds like a good month to me, I am really hoping this one comes slightly early. How are you feeling?

Anyone else up at stupid o'clock? Last night I was wide awake from 3.30-6.00, no reason whatsoever. I got up and wrapped DD's birthday presents in the end, came back to bed at 6.00 and managed to sleep for an hour or so before DD came bounding in.

Kittenrush · 06/11/2016 15:03

How is everyone? I've been waking up around 3am most mornings. Laying awake, hips screaming. Woke DP up this morning to see if we could er, get things going. Still nothing, I've given up now. Chilling with Harry Potter and chicken dippers.

ChocolateBudgeCake · 06/11/2016 22:15

38 weeks today! First baby born at 39+4 so I'm really getting excited now.

Waters went with first on the toilet after feeling the sensation of needing a poo. So now every time I feel the same I get a pang of excitement! But nothing's happening really. In less pain today, feeling happy after a lovely weekend.

Would like another week to get the house straight. So I'll be keeping my fingers and legs crossed till next weekend.

HandbagAtDawn · 06/11/2016 22:40

I'm 39+3 and I AM SO READY TO HAVE THIS BABY!!

Jesus I am bored out of my mind. Started mat leave three weeks ago and have done nearly all my Christmas present shopping, cleaned the oven, project managed decorators to come and paint the house, packed my hospital bag, washed all the baby's things, bought a new rug...

Also I can't sleep: sciatica pain and regular-as-clockwork 3.45am wee trips to the loo. Starving constantly, can't really move or do any exercise, worried I'll be the size of a house.

Just can't wait for him to get here tbh.

HandbagAtDawn · 06/11/2016 22:48

Oh yeah, I also went and had shellac done on my toes and some eyelash extensions. I'm not normally so vain and have never had shellac or eyelash extensions before. But I just wanted it so that when the rest of my body is an absolute post-birth shit show, at least I'll have pretty feet and will look vaguely like I have some makeup on.

silverfishlondon · 07/11/2016 08:58

Just wanted to point out sweep isnt like labour pain. I couldnt tollerate a sweep so worried how id deal with labour- but actually i did just fine at coping with the other pains to come. ( pessary inserted horrible tho!)

Kittenrush · 07/11/2016 09:03

Post birth shit show 😂😂

KitKat1985 · 07/11/2016 09:07

Hello! Any babies appeared over the weekend?!

Welcome to all of our new ladies. I'm 37 weeks today, and it feels like a minor landmark to now officially be 'full-term'. Feeling stiff and uncomfortable today after jarring my back yesterday. I don't think anything imminent is about to happen but also slightly terrified at the realisation that technically baby could arrive at any time now (although knowing my luck I'll go overdue)!

It's an awkward point though as well as part of me doesn't want to go too far / plan too much in case labour starts (and I've been advised it's likely my labour will be quick which adds to the anxiety of not wanting to be too far from the hospital) but similarly it could be another 4 weeks yet and I don't really want to spend a whole 4 weeks twiddling my thumbs. Also DD (who is 2) will get really bored if I have a whole 4 weeks ahead of not doing much. Am going to go out later and buy a new diary and buy some Christmas cards to start writing. I'm fine at the moment but I can see that soon I may risk getting bored like yourself HandbagAtDawn.

Hope I can join! So nice to have a bunch of people I can moan with as no one else is giving me any sympathy Blush 38 weeks today first baby and I just want to scream the house down. My hips are unbelievably sore I've never felt anything like it! Getting up to go toilet every hour last night really took the biscuit. Not sure I can take anymore!!! Why do people never tell you about these things before you get pregnant

mrsdane · 07/11/2016 09:19

39+3 and woke with nausea this morning. Anyone else experiencing this again?
So ready to not be pregnant anymore. Sophie you're right - no one tells you the detail on the discomfort at the end...

HandbagAtDawn · 07/11/2016 09:23

I'm so restless. I can't concentrate on anything. Plus I'm super itchy and the two outfits that still fit me are really getting on my nerves.

Literally no position is comfortable. I might go mad.
