Just that really. I'm 35+1 now and feel seriously huge, and I keep bumping into things. Everything feels like a bloody effort. I have a 2 year old DD who I am exhausted by as she has limitless energy. And I have to pee approximately 8000 times a day.

Part of me just wants this to be over now, but then I also am freaked out about having to cope with a toddler and a newborn, so another part of me just wants this baby to stay a bump for as long as possible.

There must be some other ladies out there in the late pregnancy stage who would like to pull up a chair and have a moan with me? Maybe whilst eating Cake ?

40+6 today :(

Pretty miserable now - had contractions on and off for days with varying intensity. Dr said I was 1-2cm dilated when she did a sweep yesterday, seeing midwife tomorrow. Not sure whether to ask for another sweep - have had two already and clearly didn't accomplish anything.

KitKat1985 · 26/10/2016 18:15

Oh dear waitingforwombat and notinagreatplace. I feel so sorry for you both. You must be both so uncomfortable and the unsuccessful sweeps must be so frustrating. Sad

Due on Friday. Had sex and a bath last night. Today I walked for 2 miles and I'm gonna have sex again later haha. But tbh I'm not having any symptoms to make me think it's happening any time soon.

Kittenrush · 26/10/2016 20:04

Does anyone elses braxton hicks and pain only come in the evenings? This is my 3rd evening in a row of tummy tightening and serious fanny daggers but still nothing. Get out child, I want my body back

waitingforwombat · 26/10/2016 21:38

Yes, absolutely kitten. Every night for past 3 weeks! Enough to disturb sleep, then gone in morning. Worst of both worlds - not in labour and yet uncomfortable and not rested!

Kittenrush · 26/10/2016 23:10

3 weeks wombat! You poor thing! I couldn't have put up with this crap for 3 weeks, 3 nights is enough to make me start googling how to do your own sweep....

waitingforwombat · 27/10/2016 00:37

I cant sleep. Restless legs is actually making me want to cry.

waitingforwombat · 27/10/2016 17:38

Any updates? Had another sweep earlier and more favourable. Lots cramps but now dying down again. Trying to keep positive about progress....

Kittenrush · 27/10/2016 18:05

Aw best of luck wombat, hope it continues. I've had period pains all day but it's come to nothing :( x

Kittenrush · 27/10/2016 19:16

If you're all super quiet because you're all having your babies I'm going to lose my shit

Eatsleepteach · 27/10/2016 19:31

36+6 here! Am torn between desperately wanting baby here so I can bend/walk again but am v unprepared...need all sorts of things and bag still not packed! Shock

waitingforwombat · 27/10/2016 20:22

Don't worry kitten - still hanging in here. Period pains but then I have just had my cervix rummaged. No signs labour. Got all excited earlier, but I think just wistful thinking combined with a bumpy car journey. Comfy pjs on and slobbed on sofa looking resentfully at the ball I should be bouncing on....

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 27/10/2016 20:31

Started timing contractions earlier. Then they stopped. Grrrrr...

KitKat1985 · 27/10/2016 20:32

Nope, no babies here yet Kitten rush, although I am only 35+3 so a bit behind you ladies.

Waitingforwombat that sounds positive. Fingers crossed baby starts to think about making a move soon.

Eatsleepteach get that bag packed! Smile

I considered trying to paint my toenails earlier. Realised the logistics were bloody impossible and just did my fingernails instead. I have also attempted perineal massage earlier and realised how bloody impossible it is to even reach that bloody area now. Thank christ no-one could see, because it would have looked like an upside-down tortoise attempt pornography.

Oh that's frustrating LittleGreyCat. Hopefully they re-start later.

40+1 here! Failed sweep Tuesday as cervix still completely closed.

Decided to try nipple stimulation yesterday - had some tightenings and lost a bit of what's possibly my plug later on, but otherwise nothing whatsoever. Did more nipple stimulation earlier and got nothing!

Come on baby!!

Sausagema · 27/10/2016 20:57

This baby is going nowhere fast, still 36+5 so really should stay in a little longer! I have a feeling this baby will arrive nearer the 42 weeks anyway.....
Have mostly lolled around the house, snoozed and done the odd bit of cleaning today. I am so bored, I could happily go back to work actually Grin

mikesh909 · 27/10/2016 21:01

So reassuring to read I am not the only one. At 35 weeks today and everything is a struggle.

Physically and mentally exhausted. Baby seems to kick every time I sit down. Any time she doesn't, and I start worrying something is wrong. Incessant need for bathroom blights every hour of the day and night.

Have lost all motivation for preparatory yoga, perineal massage and the like. Even hypnobirthing relaxation tracks, which only involve laying on the couch with headphones on, seem like too much effort.

Baby is due Dec 1st. Finishing work Dec 2nd as its a Friday. It's my first, I have no mum friends and no-one told me this wasn't the done thing. I live at the top of a big hill and don't drive. Every time I leave the house, the return journey feels like I'm climbing a literal mountain. If I keep going at the current rate for the next five weeks, my maternity savings will be considerably depleted by taxi fares by the time a baby eventually arrives.

Can no longer face social engagements of any kind. Can only hope I regain some enthusiasm for this soon after delivery as Christmas looms large on the horizon.

On top of everything, I feel guilty as I know I have been really lucky to have had a trouble-free pregnancy so far. Good luck ladies. May these final weeks pass quickly for you all Flowers

Kittenrush · 27/10/2016 22:34

Is it terrible that I feel so much better knowing that everyone else is feeling horrendous too? Oh Christ wombat I really do feel for you, I hoped you'd cracked it today!
Oh kitkat, poor thing, I was really lucky I didn't feel too bad at 35 weeks! It's really only been the last week for me. Mikesh, I too feel super guilty for moaning when I've had such a trouble free pregnancy, I can't believe you are giving up work the day after your due date, you are seriously brave!

waitingforwombat · 28/10/2016 08:37

Roll call - everyone still here this morning?!

Kittenrush · 28/10/2016 08:42

Here! Have you had that baby yet wombat?
No braxton hicks or any twinges last night. She's in it for the long haul I just know it

Gabby786 · 28/10/2016 08:48

I'm 40 weeks today and still no sign! Kill me now!!! Last night she was super super active for like 3-4 hours straight. Is that even normal? Lol

Redken24 · 28/10/2016 08:54

40+5 here , 0 signs

BearGryllsHasaBigRope · 28/10/2016 09:09

I'm in! 39+2 today with dc3 and I've not made it out of my 40th week before but apparently third babies are 'tricky', so I've heard...
Lots of tightenings lately, and I've had a bit of a clear out so hopefully labour isn't too far off.

KitKat1985 · 28/10/2016 10:48

Still here, but expectedly so at 35+4. With DD1 I went into labour at 10pm at 39+1 days, and she was born a bit over 6 hours later at 4.19am at 39+2. I am therefore probably overly optimistic for:

  1. DD2 arriving at 38 / 39 weeks, and
  2. having a quick-ish labour. Probably because of this I'll go to 41+ weeks and have a 50 hour labour this time as punishment.
