I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

User you can't work like this, a few weeks reading text books won't kill them! your health is more important. If you let school know its going to be a long term thing they might get a specialist in?

Thanks mother of pearl, nice to know there's other softies out there (currently in bed with sleeping 7 yr old) are you pregnant now? I'm lost with everyone's situations.

Lh hope you're picking up a bit, sticking your fingers up to week 9.

Blondes you're amazing. Puking makes me sad. I'd have cried and gone home with puke down my front and wet pants! Your attitude is great.

Going to bed now, night

Mop I'll have v similar age gaps and genders to you (unless dc3 is a boy which I doubt) how's having three going?

LightTripper · 31/10/2016 11:56

Not around much any more as I'm through the worst (thank !), but pop in occasionally as I remember how easy it is to forget there is life and happiness at the other end of this (and how tempting it is to curl in a ball instead of leaving the house to persuade somebody to help you, even if you are lucky enough, as I was, to have a helpful GP).

Waving to everyone. You are all doing so well - especially those going through the 6-14 week hell days. One day at a time is the only answer I think (oh, and drugs, as many drugs as you can lay your hands on!) For me life got significantly better at around 14 weeks, and then again at 20 weeks when I managed to stop taking the pills. Now just waves of nausea in the evenings, but no longer 24/7, totally manageable.

user1477229112 · 31/10/2016 12:16

I am the magical number of 12 weeks today when your allegedly meant to be vomit free suffice to say that hasn't really worked out Confused! I feel absolutely rotten

Hope everyone else is having a good day

MotherofPearl · 31/10/2016 13:30

User, sorry you're still feeling so bad. Remind me what meds you're on, if any.
Light, great to hear from you, and so glad that you're so much better. It gives everyone hope to hear stories of improvement.
Castle, so far I'm finding 3 absolutely fine! But I am a little anxious that may change when mat leave ends and I go back to work next year. I reckon with 3 they pretty much bring themselves up! Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/10/2016 13:56

User. 14w was an improvement. Give it two more weeks and hopefully you will feel a bit better. Days vary. From Friday and being very sick (when I could have done without it) and Sunday where I was absolutely fine and ate a yummy roast that df made me. Scoffed the lot and stayed down

Light - glad you are lot better. Every now and again I drop a tablet for a day or two then following day or so I'm really sick

So back on 3 a day

Mop and Lucinda. Thanks for being on this thread and supporting us pukers 💐💐

LHReturns · 31/10/2016 14:04

Hello all!

I went for a cheeky reassurance scan this morning (I do this at it alleviates my HG depression momentarily).

I don't usually share scans as other people's scans are usually pretty dull. I'm sorry for this if anyone really hates seeing scans.

But at 9+4 baby was actually 'performing' and waggling hands and feet at us. It was very cute and I thought those of us suffering badly like me might be cheered up by this. It was like he or she was laughing at me.

How can something measuring 3cm cause SO much trouble?!!

Got home and puked into the guest loo while the Pizza delivery man stood and listened on the doorstep.

Scary Halloween Witch is EXACTLY what I am right now. I could go trick or treating just as I am, and get ALL the sweets as my costume is so good.

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/10/2016 15:17

I love seeing scan pics

Have all mine in a little scan book

Glad you feel reassured

Poor pizza man

Myusername2015 · 31/10/2016 15:21

Ah congrats Lhreturns how adorable!

Fellow User sorry you are still feeling so bad I feel your pain today 💐

Southlondon321 · 31/10/2016 19:07

Hi everyone. Success is I've not been sick since Thursday. I've eaten better portions today although stomach ginormous from bloat. The cyclizine makes me want to vomit but I take it at the best moment possible with lemon water so as to wash away taste. Still feel sick and experiencing hiccups, gags and heaving but much better. I've told work and two people in my team. One is a new mummy and the other is 23 weeks. They have been supportive.
Welcome user 147 - as advised above get to the doc asap. Your experience sounds like mine. I am living on ribena, different brands of salt crisps (I go off each type after a day or two) rice cakes from Aldi with choc or yog on and then anything my husband cooks. Tonight I'm in my own and I've made gluten free filled pasta and eaten it (half). It feels like a miracle. Also, lots of rennie as I now hate gaviscon.

MotherofPearl · 31/10/2016 19:10

Thanks for the Flowers Blondes. Hope you've had a Co-op bag free day today! Halloween Wink
LH, that scan photo is adorable. It's a big help to be reminded why you're doing this! Sometimes being sick makes you lose sight of the prize at the end.
Myuser, sorry you're also feeling rubbish.
Another done nearly done everyone. Each day done is a day less of being pregnant!

MotherofPearl · 31/10/2016 19:15

Sorry, cross-posted with South. Ah, the joys of the HG diet! Well done on the pasta. I love pasta but during my HG time it was one food I couldn't ever keep down. Had some horrendous experiences! If you're suffering with acid and heartburn, I'd strongly suggest getting your hands on some ranitidine (either own-brand e.g. from Tescos, or branded as Zantac). I also hated gaviscon (still do).

Southlondon321 · 31/10/2016 19:35

Thanks for the tip mother of pearl. I'll buy some ready for when I hate rennies. Terrible acid reflux but it's better than being sick. I have had some massive hiccups that could have gone either way but I've given up trying to suppress it and now THAT person on the commute. I feel really full now but eaten a decent amount for the first time in ages. Just need to keep it down. Dad phoned today to see how I am and I said I've had a few experiences I'll laugh about in time .... just can't talk about now.

LHReturns · 31/10/2016 19:44

Thank you so much all for lovely comments.

MoP you have quite a mothering effect on me actually. I read your posts and want to meet your expectations (whatever works frankly!). So thank you.

South I feel exactly the same way. I am no where near talking about these 'events' or laughing about them. I am haunted by each and only discuss them here on MN. I told a friend I pee a little every time I vomit and she looked horrified. Won't be mentioning that in RL again.

Has anyone heard from Boobs? It has been a while and her last post was not a well one. If you are reading - we are thinking of you.

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/10/2016 19:51

All good here. Sausages mash and beans for tea. Was yummy !!!

Feel fine today

Have flu jab tomorrow as told need it as preg. Tho have it usually as work with newborns

LucindaE · 31/10/2016 21:35

LightTripper Thanks so much for calling back on and encouraging people. I am so glad you feel so much better.
LH Returns I join the others in saying what a lovely scan picture - sorry to hear of delivery man humiliation.
SouthLondon I am so glad colleagues were sympathetic. In an ideal world, of course, everyone would be as a matter of course...
MotherofPearl Good advice as ever. I think mothers of three become nice and relaxed in parenting. Pasta! I too had a terrible experience with pasta - the horror, the horror...
User1477 It's disappointing - but unfortunately, fifteen or sixteen weeks is more realistic for Hyperemesis sufferers to aim for.
Blondes Congratulations on that roast dinner. With luck the good days will get more and more frequent. Thank you for kind words.
Waves to all. Apologies to anyone rudely overlooked.

I too am worried about ICanTuckMyBoobsInMyPockets. I hope she's (comparatively) OK, and everyone else. (goes off clucking and flapping).

Hi everyone may I join you? I honestly feel like I'm dying which in my sensible moments I know is nonsense - on cyclizine and well hydrated. Just sick daily and the nausea... I have quite a stressful job in a small team and a toddler. My DH is great but cannot believe we decided to have another. NEVER AGAIN.
