I don't think I could cope with a hot water bottle Grin it hasn't gone under 28 degrees here since about 9 this morning!

I am fretting about work because I don't want them to know we are TTC. They are paying for me to learn to drive and it's in connection with a higher hours contract. They are not very sympathetic and I don't think there's any chance they'll give me the contract if they know.

But that said I haven't called in sick for ages, and here if you're ill you get a thing from the doctor confirming it so it's not like I would be lying and nor do I have to tell them what it's about. They aren't allowed to ask. I suppose I could just explain that I felt ill in the morning but decided to go to the test because I knew it would take 5 minutes.

Naschkatze · 28/08/2016 20:45

Bertie Very sorry to hear this. I also think you should definitely take some time off work and not worry about what they think at the moment. I hope your DH can go out and get what you need. Flowers

Whatsername17 · 28/08/2016 20:48

Im so sorry, Bertie. I hope that you have lots of support in rl x

XxbecquixX · 28/08/2016 21:10

If you have some calpol in the fridge Bertie you can take that if you have no adult painkillers, 5mls = 125mg of paracetamol of the top of my head, so 4 spoons would equal one tablet.
Not ideal obviously but better than dealing with the full cramps xxxxx

BertieBotts · 28/08/2016 21:24

Yes I know, thanks. I quite often take calpol when I'm ill because I am terrible at swallowing tablets if I feel poorly.

Seems to be easing off anyway so I might be OK without.

It's so weird - last time I miscarried, my mum's rabbit died. A couple of days ago when I first started bleeding, she took her new(ish) guinea pig to the vets for a routine neutering operation and unfortunately he didn't react well to the anaesthetic, she tried to keep him going for a couple of days but he didn't make it through the second night.

It's a really weird parallel.

Oh Mrs you're really not having a good time you poor thing :(

Any clots? If not I'd be inclined to still think it's an irritated cervix. I understand your concern alongside the cramps though. Flowers

Mrs I'm sorry you're going through this. A friend of mine had a massive massive bleed clots aswell and she wasn't miscarrying. I really really hope that you're not either and it's just the irritated cervix. Can you get to an out of hours place now? Or the EPU if they are open?? Thinking of youFlowers

doleritedinosaur · 28/08/2016 21:45

Sounds like you have a plan Bertie & hope the pain eases for you. Hope you can get work sorted.

Awwww Mrs, did they do a cervical exam? Because this can irritate you further & make you bleed/cramp more. Especially for 24-48 hours after, did the doctors warn about this?

I had a check with DS & was advised of that & had some cramping for a day after.

Could be clutching at straws but just trying to help, especially if you don't have clots. Are you able to take anything for pain?

BertieBotts · 28/08/2016 21:54

Thanks ladies x

Mrs I'm sorry. I hope it turns out OK, it's so scary and confusing not knowing what's going on. Is the EPU open so you could call and ask for advice?

DH has theory about why ours has happened twice at the same time which has reassured me, weirdly. It's not nice miscarrying but I feel I cope much better when I have some understanding of what is likely to be happening.

Nitnat10 · 28/08/2016 21:58

bertie and mrs sorry you are having to go through this, echoing everyone's sentiments to look after yourselves as best you can. Wishing you lots of fortitude for tomorrow whatever you decide to do bertie (I hope you ace that driving test in the face of everything, strong women like yourself have an amazing capacity to kick ass when fate insists on messing about!) and keeping everything crossed for you mrs though understand the fear, must feel like the worst roller-coaster Flowers

LynseyH · 28/08/2016 22:15

Oh no, I really hope you both, mrs and bertie will be ok. mrs what dino has said above is encouraging along with the docs being happy last night. I so hope you both have a happy outcome xx

Bertie sorry you're going through this again. My guinea pig died very soon after my first miscarriage - I hadn't thought anything could make it more sad and painful a process, but that did. You sound like you're taking a strong, pragmatic approach, good luck with the driving test if you decide to do that Flowers

Mrs I hope there's an alternative explanation for the bleeding, I understand the fear though and my thoughts are with you Flowers

HopefulKate1980 · 28/08/2016 22:50

bertie & mrs my heart is with you. Hope you have support and some comfort xx

purpleviolet1 · 28/08/2016 23:00

So sorry Bertie and Mrs. Thinking and praying for you Flowers

BertieBotts · 28/08/2016 23:02

It's just a theory test, nothing toooooo stressful! But thanks anyway :)

TBH I am looking forward to going driving on Tuesday as it always takes my mind off things, it's so all consuming of your attention.

XxbecquixX · 29/08/2016 07:52

Good luck for the gender scan today Lynsey xxxxx

I had a bad dream last nite and it's hit the anxiety button for me.
I woke up at 4.20am and did a CB DGITAL and it was still saying 2-3.
I would have thought that it would be 3+ by now as I'm 6wks tomorrow.
In that I'm not going to put to much thought as I've read a thousand blogs saying that they arnt up to scratch, but nether the less, I'm feelin pangs of worry today.
I ovulated on the the 2nd of Aug, so by rights on the 30th is 4 weeks since conception, so I suppose the logic is that iam still the (3) in the 2-3 until tomorrow, but who knows.
My boobs feel a little tender today, they haven't been tender yet only heavy so that is a bit reassuring.
I'm uhm-ing and arr-ing whether to book myself an early scan for the 13th sept, when I'll supposedly be 8 weeks, perhaps whilst the hubby is off at work and the kids are in school.
I have kind of had the outlook of, why put myself through that overwhelming anxiety of ultrasounds and blood tests when they are only relevant for that day and each day after that I'm at the mercy of my own mind? The last MMC I had, I had about 3 scans and the last one was around the 8 week mark, I then had the 12 week scan to discover that the baby was only measuring 9+6.
They told me that loosing a baby that late is almost always problems with genetics, so will I actually feel reassured in any way by a possibly positive scan at 8 weeks?
I really thought I'd have the courage to just try to wing it to 12 weeks and then it would be one scan and from that I'd either know the outcome for sure one way or the other.
Amy advice for me girls?

XxbecquixX · 29/08/2016 08:39

Bertie I'm wishing you all the luck with your theory today xxx

Mrs, I think you have been through the bloody mill my luv, I think that as your hormone levels increase that your probably going to be a sufferer of these on-off bleeds until the hormones plateau around the 12 week mark.
I if I where you would get as much bed/sofa rest as you possibly can, you could just be disturbing you cervix with activity??
Maybe just try it, if at all possible, maybe do the minimum required and then chill out with Netflix!
Orange is the new black is definetly worth a watch, as is greys anatomy, my absolute fav.
Anything is worth a try xxxx

BertieBotts · 29/08/2016 08:46

Thank you. Unfortunately I passed the sac last night so am definitely no longer pregnant, but my body is feeling very efficient with negligible bleeding or cramps this morning.

I called in sick to work and have a gynecologist appointment at 2.30.
