Sound advice lyns, this is my 2nd iPhone 6+ this year!

LuckyinOctober · 17/09/2016 22:02

Also pleased to read your good news Bec and sorry to read your sad news Loz xx

Is anyone else planning to have a 3D/4D scan? Or anyone already had one? They seem like a good deal and I like that you can take 4 people in with you, and a further twenty weeks with no more NHS scans seems a bit long for me!

Whatsername17 · 17/09/2016 23:36

I'm not but only because I find them a little odd. The sonographer showed us our little one in 4d at 16 weeks and it totally freaked dh out because she looked a little like she'd melted. Luckily, or unluckily depending on your view, I'll have another scan at 32 weeks because of my low lying placenta. We are moving dd into the bigger room tomorrow. Dh has custom but her a bed, which has a secret garden on top of it (basically astroturf, fake flowers and a lovely tree wall art). It looks absolutely amazing but I can't help but feel a bit emotional that my first born baby girl is moving out of the 'baby room'!

So I just did another digital test and it's still saying pregnant. This time 2-3 weeks. I can only assume EPU got a random false negative. Keeping everything crossed this one sticks.

jpeg28 · 18/09/2016 08:36

loz I'm so sorry to hear your news. Thinking of you Flowers
Fantastic news bec about your scan! So glad it went well for you.

dreaming that sounds like you're pregnant! And the digital ones need more hcg... Can you see your GP or go back to the EPU Monday?

jpeg28 · 18/09/2016 08:37

Also.... I'm supposed to be meeting up with my group of best girl friends today and one of their houses. But she has said she has had a very dodgy tummy all morning but she still wants us to go over. Do you think it's safe for me to be around her??

dreamingaboutcheese · 18/09/2016 08:55

Thanks jpeg28 want to be excited but am so nervous there'll be problems again. I'll just have to be patient (not my strength!) Re your friend, I probably wouldn't go. Do you know if it's food poisoning or a bug? If the latter, not worth the risk.

jpeg I'd avoid anyone with the lurgy!

dreaming definitely sounds positive to have another positive test, maybe see you gp and explain everything. They will then point you in the right direction.

lucky we've been considering the 4d scans. Expense is really the only thing holding us back. I'd like to have one around 30 weeks as they look almost like they do when they are born, the features are all there etc. I've only ever had the sneak peaks done on 4d with the sexing scan but because this is definitely last baby, thought it'd be nice to have it done.
I think it's about £140. It's not going to break the bank but I'm currently saving money every week to fund baby things and 3 boys Christmas presents so considering each purchase carefully!

Morning everyone,

I'm so sorry Loz & hope to see you here again soon.

Dreaming it does sound as though you are. Could you request a HCG blood test?

JPEG if it's a stomach bug I would not go as you can't take anything when pregnant & it's an awful thing to get. Especially as you do pick things up so much easier. I'm dreading DS getting sick.

Good news in scan Bec.

Thanks everyone again for birthday wishes. Pembrokeshire was lovely, actually came back with a tan but the sea was freezing!
Had a wedding party last night & I'm glad I took a different dress as my bump has properly popped & I can't say it's cheese anymore.

I'm 15+3 today & still don't feel "real" though got the movement, bump, hormones.

Also autumn has hit here so I'm very happy.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday, I've got a day of washing & baking.

Whatsername17 · 18/09/2016 09:48

Here is the bed, we haven't put the mattress in yet but you can see where it will go. On the underside, he has drilled tiny holes and put in LED lights in the shape of star constellations as a night light. The cubby holes to the side of the beds are not quite finished. One has little book shelfs that are currently drying on it, but that pulls out to reveal a hidden wardrobe with her dress up stuff on. The other one has a pull out desk that we need to finish off with a proper stool and a plastic draw liner to make it wipe-able. Nearly there though! I'm really impressed with dh. It is the best thing he has ever made.

doleritedinosaur · 18/09/2016 10:26

Oh Lucky with 4d we're not with this one. My hospital don't tell you gender so not sure if we will have one of those. My friend has just started training as a sonagrapher & I've offered my bump as practice, she's not sure that will happen though sadly.

With DS I had a 4d scan for free as they needed pregnant women to practice on for students so had one for about a hour with 2 students & it was amazing. I saw DS's face & could see his name was the right choice. I was 32 weeks & they do prefer earlier as more room for baby to move.

Some places do offers so it's worth looking around if you do want it.
Think 28 weeks was the best time the consultant said for 4D scans.

doleritedinosaur · 18/09/2016 10:26

Awwww Whatser that's amazing!
It looks absolutely beautiful.

dreamingaboutcheese · 18/09/2016 11:34

Watser that looks amazing.
Thanks all for your thoughts. DD has a dr appt first thing tomorrow so I'll ask dr then.
Doleritedinosaur it's definitely Autumn here too, we just went collecting conkers on the local green Smile

Thanks for the advice everyone... Luckily I persuaded the rest of the girls that meeting in Starbucks and leaving the sick person at home was the best idea!!

Whatser that's so amazing! What a lovely bedroom!

Just been out for such a disappointing meal .. Prepregrancy I would have eaten anything, now I'm so fussy!!

HopefulKate1980 · 18/09/2016 16:53

Hi wonderful ladies

Sorry I have been missing for a while. I've been trying to avoid obsessing or thinking too much about being pregnant. I've been popping in to read your news but haven't felt like posting. When will this anxiety go away?!

Whatser the bed is AMAZING! There should a Bake Off equivalent for amateur carpenters/builders! Very impressive.

Great news on the scan Bec.

lucky how many weeks are you now? I'd definitely have one, but probably further along than I am at the moment. The waiting in between is painful! Thankfully I'll be scanned every 4 weeks because I am under a consultant (due to my previous MCs) but I am sure I will top those up with a few fancy ones towards our due date (if we get that far. Always petrified!).

I'm 15w5 now. My next hospital appointment is on Wednesday - it is an antenatal appointment but I think they scan you at the same time. Does anyone know whether a hospital would tell you the sex at 16 weeks at a regular scan, and not the official 20 week one?

I have been feeling very faint movements and popping recently. I think I am getting quite good at telling the difference between baby and wind. I think... it feels different. Much softer and in the same place often for a few minutes. Very cute to think of our growing baby moving about in there. Hope she/he is ok! I am counting the days until Wednesday.

HopefulKate1980 · 18/09/2016 16:54

jpeg so glad you stayed away from the sick lady. Very wise. There is a cold/flu bug in our office that I am petrified of getting.... keep away at all costs!

xx

doleritedinosaur · 18/09/2016 16:56

JPEG I feel your pain. I just really want carbs & junk food.

I felt so bad for my friend who cooked us a meal Friday night as my DS is dairy & soya intolerant
& when she was saying ideas I felt so bad at the suggesting that made me feel sick or will make me sick.

Roast dinner always seems to be a winner here though.

HopefulKate1980 · 18/09/2016 17:09

Dino that is amazing that you could see your baby's face on your 4D scan! Was it a good resemblance to your son now? Wow. that's amazing. How many weeks were you when you had it?

doleritedinosaur · 18/09/2016 17:23

Hi Kate just seen your earlier post, I think it depends on the sonagrapher & how confident they are. Boys are at a lot easier. I now my friend even at 20 weeks had a "possible" girl.

I was 32 weeks when I had the 4D scan but consultant said 28 weeks was the best time as the placenta was so big.
Yes his face was exactly the same when he came out. We could tell from 12 week scan that he had my nose from the side. But seeing his face was absolutely amazing.
They also checked I knew sex before zooming down there & I've got a CD of the images.

Don't know if it's worth finding out if your hospital needs bumps to practice on? My old hospital was a teaching one.

I still do feel anxious & I have no idea if I've got a scan at my appointment tomorrow but I'm trying to not freak out about it or think about it.
Have you spoken to midwife or consultant about the anxiety?

HopefulKate1980 · 18/09/2016 17:54

Thanks for the advice dino. That sounds so magical to be able to see your baby's face! so accurately! Sweet.

I'll definitely find out if my hospital needs spare bumps! Great idea.

What is your appointment for tomorrow? Is it a check-up?

I haven't spoken to anyone apart from my DH about my anxiety. It only creeps in now and then in a way that bothers me. In idle moments I always google 'likelihood of miscarriage at X weeks', and I'm never reassured. I suppose it is natural when you have a history of loss. I think it will be easier (hopefully) when I get further along and the bump is more defined and I am more visibly pregnant. Right now it is too easy to worry about it changing size and shape, and because people at work don't know I worry that I don't even look pregnant! I know lots of people experience this so it is just a case of keeping busy I guess.

xx

Netcurtainrummager · 18/09/2016 21:22

Hi all, wondered if I could join? I'm 8 weeks tomorrow having had 5 previous MCs, all following the birth of DD who's almost 7. Had two scans already, both perfect with heartbeat and bang on growth. Raging pregnancy symptoms - dizziness, nausea, sickness..... All good signs, and logically - statistically - I know it will probably all be fine now, and the best thing I can do for myself and everyone - including bubba - is chill out. Of course, I'm still bricking it.

Kate, totally know where you're coming from re: the anxiety symptoms, and hope things feel better for you soon. I've had breathlessness, waking up in the night to a panic reduced chest and tummy pain, appalling tension and uncontrollable tearfulness (partly hormones, obvs). Then I have a scan and feel really good. Hopefully that feeling will stick after yesterday's scan, if not i have another scan in a week and a half. I did find yoga really helped early on but stopped doing it as I've felt so ropey... Have an antenatal yoga DVD somewhere so will dig that out as a good old stretch really did help no end.

And yes jpeg carbs and protein. Corned beef sandwich with pickle for lunch is all I've been away to face asids from toast and cereal - except todays offering of hotdog and onions - nooooooommmm Grin. Dinner just isn't happening atm, and 5 a day is totally out the window! Interested to see up thread about apple juice as a way to help break down fats, will be purchasing some tmrw.

Best wishes all xx

LynseyH · 18/09/2016 21:36

Welcome net. Very best of luck with this pregnancy.

dino so glad your break away was a good one!

whatser amazing bed!! Lucky little girl, your daughter. I can just imagine the excitement!! It must make you swell with happiness too, when my boys are happy, makes me burst with love for them!

Had headache on and off again last 2 days but have managed to completely clean the house top to bottom. Feels good! Little one is moving more frequently the last couple of days too which is lovely but feels so strange this time around? Maybe I was unprepared for it as it's been such an anxious time. Always say a little hello to her though and make sure I acknowledge the moment.
Decided to add a little picture of my growing belly, as this thread is about trying to stay positive, I thought it'd be a positive thing to do.... excuse the pjs!
