On 4D scans - lynsey where I am you can get a basic 4d scan for £60 which is about do-able for us, I'd think twice about £140 too! Dolerite your experience of seeing your son's face on the 4d scan sounds amazing, that's the sort of thing I'm hoping for. I'm planning to go at 28 weeks so good to know that's considered an ideal time! My plan is to bring the grandparents-to-be with us to help them bond with the baby.

Jpeg well done avoiding the lurgy!

Whatser that's a gorgeous bed!

welcome net curtain hope you find us a supportive bunch

Kate I've found my anxiety has gone down at the same rate my bump gets bigger and people find out, it's easier for me that it's all out in the open. Hope it gets easier for you too xx

Naschkatze · 18/09/2016 22:00

Lovely bump picture Lynsey! How many weeks are you now?

Kate I hope you feel a bit better soon; completely understand as I'm sure we all do. I've felt the same; made the decision to tell more people and was happy initially but today the niggling doubt has crept back in. I've been imagining how I would tell everyone if something went wrong.

Welcome Net. Congratulations! All good signs.

Feeling more movements this weekend; almost as if baby knew I needed reassurance. (But then, even as I type that, I wonder... AngrySad) DH even says that with his ear to my tummy he can hear sploshing/swimming noises! I don't know if he is having me on so if anyone else fancies giving it a go that would be great!

Jjabenefer295 · 18/09/2016 22:15

Hey guys I'm really sorry to but in on your post I've just joined this site and trying to figure out how to use it lol
Anyway I'm just wondering if Any of you have any reassurance for me, I'm now pregnant again for the third time but sadly my other two ended in miscarriages. I've had an early scab two weeks ago we showed my tiny little dumplin at six weeks with a little heartbeat!! This is something I've never experienced before as my losses happened pretty early on and a baby never developed, I know this is a positive sign but I'm still so worried of every little thing. My partner and I so desperately want this baby, I don't want it to be taken away again! I'm sorry for all the babble lol I'm such a worrier!!

LynseyH · 18/09/2016 22:16

Thank you nasch!. I'm starting to embrace the curves! I'm now 19+2... gone so very quickly! 20 wk scan on Friday.
lucky I typed in 'special offers on 4d baby scans' and up popped one close by for £69! So glad you mentioned it this morning otherwise I may have just gone to the £140 one. I had heard of groupon and wowcher doing offers, hence the search for a cheaper one! Partner more open to it now it's much lower in cost and I told him I wanted to take our boys with us for them to feel abit more prepared.

Right off to bed. Goodnight ladies, hope you all have a restful sleep xx

Adding my bump into the mix. 22+3 today. Needing the positivity as her movements have been a little quieter over the weekend. Experience tells me it's just because I've been busy and she is kicking whenever I'm quiet. It's just been a crazy weekend. Thanks for all of the lovely comments about dd's room. She is really happy.

I've got 3 kids already and honestly couldn't answer that tinkly!. I'm not sure if I ever had them as I believe they are ment to feel like a mini contraction? Only contractions I had were the real ones. Having said that, a day or 2 after having 2nd baby, I thought I was in labour again as I was in agony. I now know they are 'after pains'. I dread them more than I do actually giving birth!!
You've got a lovely full bump! It's lovely to see how far everyone has come Smile

I think its a combination of a flattering dress and the angle of the mirror. I feel like a whale in RL. Your bumps are all lovely! I have Braxton HIcks quite a lot. My bump goes really hard for a few seconds and then back to normal. They dont hurt. Wind pains, on the other hand, have me bent double!

doleritedinosaur · 19/09/2016 14:12

All the bump photos are lovely.

Well today's appointment was just a farce, I had a breakdown at the consultant when he told me I'm consultant led & he tried to scare monger me into a hospital birth by leading with babies dying.
They also hadn't pulled my previous notes to sort out a cervical length check so going back Thursday.

20 week scan has moved forward 3 days & then I'm seeing him after when he's got all my previous pregnant notes.
Midwife also put a mistake on my notes so that created confusion. & the midwife I saw before consultant didn't know why I was there.

After all the mistakes they made with DS & they will not admit to on my notes, I hate that it could affect what I want for this pregnancy. Even though it's a different hospital, I can't trust doctors anymore.

So midwife Thursday & I'll check she's on my side for a home birth if there's no issues. Then all being well at 20 week scan, placenta in the right place, I'll tell the consultant no more physical appointments. I'll continue midwife appointments & proceed with home birth.

I know people will think I'm mad but they've made too many mistakes & ive done a lot to control my anxiety but this is setting it all off for at the moment no reason & I hope it stays that way.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

doleritedinosaur · 19/09/2016 14:13

I took this bump
Photo last week. It just pinged.

I don't think your mad dino. I think your doing what you need to for yourself. So many errors would have me upset too. Your checking out all is ok to move forward the way you want so not like your being careless with your decisions.
Another lovely bump picture! Smile

Just catching up from last night and today...

Welcome to everyone who is new... Congrats and keeping everything x for a happy healthy 9 months for you!!

Lynsey, Whatser, Tinkypoo, dolerite gorge pic of your bumps!! You all looks so slim with tiny little neat bumps! I'm not sure I'll look the same when mine pops out!!

Think I've missed quite a lot so sorry! The bumps were too distracting!!

9+4 here today, almost told someone at work today but didn't. I've just started a senior leadership course that has to be done within 12 months... I'll be on maternity leave for half of it!! I'm a bit worried but I can't tell them just yet, although I look so fat I'm sure people know!

XxbecquixX · 19/09/2016 19:36

Hya girls, loving the bump pics, coz im so old hat at pg by 16 weeks I usually look 30 weeks lol, all your beautiful little bellies are splendid!

Brixton hicks don't hurt tinkly, it's an unusual feeling where you feel all your belly muscles tighten up then release, when it's labour they are obs more intense and are doing a job so they are painful.
If you can imagine the worst upset stomach you've ever had, and picture that cramp that happens before you need to run for the loo lol that's what a real contraction feels like, so it's probably wind!
I've got my booking in appointment tomorrow, feeling nervous 😁
My worser half has told me not to book any jobs in tomorrow to chauffeur me around, I'll (fingers crossed) be 9weeks tomoz (so it's getting pretty close to the 9+6 of last time)
How do we cope day to day eh, 😳

LynseyH · 19/09/2016 19:59

This is so random but I had to share for anyone superstitious.
I was standing outside in my garden earlier (checking partners many tomato plants!!) And a little white feather drifted down and landed right between my feet. I knew this was ment to represent something so had a look and it's apparently a sign of angels looking after me, a sign of new beginnings and rebirth.
Now I know a lot of people think it's mumbo jumbo but it really was a lovely moment and thought I'd share!

I lost my step brother in 2004 and whenever I get a white feather I think it's him letting me know he's there with me, we've all had them, at some really poignant moments too xx

theAntsareMyFriends · 19/09/2016 21:55

bec and Lindsey that's a lovely thought about the white feathers. I'm often on the look out for them as DS loves letting them go and letting them float away. Next time we do that I'll think of them as good luck.

For various reasons I think of Robins as bringing me luck. Its a bit weird and I'm not normally superstitious but when I see one it lifts my mood.

Good luck with your booking appointment bec. I'm also coming up to the time I mc last time. I didn't think it would bother me but its always on my mind. I guess the only way to get through it is to take it day by day.

Loving the bump pictures!

XxBecxX · 20/09/2016 00:44

Lol tinkly

And thanks ants xx

DoubleCarrick · 20/09/2016 01:21

I love all the bump pictures!! I feel like I want to add mine again because it was so far back on the thread! Grin

I've just been on the phone to 111 because I've been so breathless this past few days. It's so scary. They don't really care though, tbh.

Whatser I love the bed! It's amazing how some are so clever with wood. My husband is the same. He's done so much this past month or so to get ready for the baby and has done some amazing things

doleritedinosaur · 20/09/2016 04:46

Good luck with booking in Bec.

Thanks Lynsey, my NHS worker friend's say I have white coat syndrome but I hate how the doctors just say worst case scenario without a regard for the patient.

Aw Carrick that sounds worrying for you, have you spoken to a midwife? It could be down to less space in your body & baby demanding more energy but should be looked at.

I seem to wake up at this time every morning now. Annoying as I won't be sleeping in 24 weeks!

McBaby · 20/09/2016 07:01

Double can you go to maternity triage? I had similar in my last pregnancy they did my bloods again and an ecg. Nothing serious was wrong except bp being lower than normal and iron being on the low side for me which they thought was causing it.

Adventuregame · 20/09/2016 08:29

I totally caved and did a CB digital. 3+ Not entirely sure what I was hoping to get from it but woke up this morning and boobs weren't as sore and not feeling sick so went into a bit of a panic. I have to say I am not enjoying this at all !!!

DoubleCarrick · 20/09/2016 08:38

My midwife is off until tomorrow, I think I'll try to ring her then. It's really scary and even worse that no one seems to care. Saying that, after I was assessed by the 111 lady, she said a doctor would ring me back. I spoke to the doctor and she said I was ok AND THEN she rang me again half an hour later to check up on me. Does that sound like she thinks I'm ok? It's all a joke tbh. sorry, rant over!!

To top it off I've just puked all over the living room floor so feeling very sorry for myself right now.

mc I do wonder whether low iron could be the cause. I'm not really eating and not taking any vitamins. And I just puked up the tablet I took this morning

Whatsername17 · 20/09/2016 08:56

Double ring the maternity assessment unit. The phone number will be on the front of your notes. You will at least get to speak to a midwife. If you are breathless and being sick then it could be a number of things, but even if it's just a cold then you need a bit of reassurance from someone who is medically trained. Flowers
