Yay for dino and kate. Great news for you both!

whatser I agree with Lynsey, focus on what's right for you and don't worry what anyone else thinks. FWIW I can relate to you a bit, I had anorexia when I was 13, and while it's a long time ago for me now I did worry that my capacity to obsess over food, shape and weight would be triggered by pregnancy and the focus on it from other people. My way of coping has been to (roughly!) follow the formula of 6 grain portions, 4 proteins, 4 dairy and 5 fruit/veg a day with one treat thing (allowing overlap and deliberately not sticking to it rigidly), and to stay away from the scales on the grounds that my body and weight will continue to sort themselves out in the same way they have been since I stopped weighing myself as part of my eating disorder recovery if I eat the right things in reasonable portions most days. I had been concerned midwives would want to weigh and monitor me but other than at my booking appointment (where my BMI was apparently in the healthy range at 19) they haven't, which I've taken it means that they're not concerned and I don't need to be. If they want to weigh me at a later stage I'll probably let them but either try to just notice the information and let it go or ask them not to tell me the numbers unless they're concerned.

You look great. Our bumps are very similar! Thanks for the kind words all xx

purpleviolet1 · 15/09/2016 22:14

Double carrick what a cute bump!! Xx

LynseyH · 15/09/2016 22:19

I was going to suggest sharing bump pictures a little while ago! How cute your bump is double!.

In my second pregnancy I developed something called plantar fasciitis (not pregnancy related but the weight gain aggravates it) and looks like I've got it again. It's so bloody painful and I can't put on weight on my left heel.
I've potentially got months of this (can take upto a year to rectify itself!) so not a happy bunny tonight.

Morning all!
I'm popping in with a very tentative hi after just getting a positive test this morning. I'm still devastated after losing my first baby at 16 weeks back in April. I need some positivity to stop me freaking out here!! Thanks :)

theAntsareMyFriends · 16/09/2016 08:42

welcome paige. I've had so much support and reassurance here and hope you will find it the same. I'm sorry for your loss and congratulations on your BFP.

becs good luck at your scan today

Whatsername17 · 16/09/2016 11:52

Welcome Paige and good luck Bec!

purpleviolet1 · 16/09/2016 12:26

Welcome Paige and good luck bex also!

I'm feeling really anxious today..the scan on wed made it all feel so real and the feeling of what we have to lose is even more intensified Sad

11+5 today. I read miscarriages up to 13 weeks are common though.

DoubleCarrick · 16/09/2016 13:14

Isn't it scary how worried about our weight some of us are. I had a lecture from a family member about how you don't necessarily need to put on weight and she was lighter post pregnancy than pre pregnancy twice. However she's a size 16/18 and I'm a 12. So I'm not 100% that works.

Welcome Paige, good luck bex.

Try not to worry too much purple - a scan at about 8 weeks means the odds are in your favour xx

Adventuregame · 16/09/2016 13:40

I think I had my first experience of sickness yesterday ? About 6pm. Lots of reflux and some retching. I never had it at all with my mmc so even tho I know symptoms can be there or not be there and doesn't really mean anything I have to admit I was slightly pleased !

LynseyH · 16/09/2016 21:40

Any news xxbec? Hope all is ok x

Welcome paige congratulations on your pregnancy, you are in the right place for support.

double try to play a deaf one to anyone giving you lectures. They aren't helpful! You know what is best for you and if people want to help, they'll do it in a sensitive way and not try to push their views on you. It's unfair to do that.

adventure great your happy about feeling off! The novelty will wear off lol but glad it's helping to stay positive. It's crazy what makes us crazy pregnant ladies feel better.

Nothing to report my end, still in pain but coping. Only thing that I'm freaking out over is the amount of bloody spiders around at the moment. I know September is the month for them but I don't think I'll ever not feel scared of them. They are bloody huge and they are so fast.
Just bought some ultra sonic repellant things as I'm too fat and hormonal to cope with anything more than 2 legs!

Wondering about bex too? Hope all is well x

Naschkatze · 16/09/2016 23:29

Lynsey What is the heel pain? I've had pain in my right one this week and thought it was due to poor shoes! Now worried it could get worse... It's awful when driving with the pressure of heel on the floor.

Hope you're okay Bex.

purpleviolet1 · 17/09/2016 07:24

Hope you are ok bex, thinking about you.

11+6 today and been struggling to sleep. My back gets sore after a bit no matter what position I sleep in so I spend the night tossing and turning X

Whatsername17 · 17/09/2016 08:59

I'm a bit like that Purple. Add in the crazy pregnancy dreams and I just don't feel rested. 22+1 today and time feels like it is slowing down.

LynseyH · 17/09/2016 09:23

nasch It's called plantar fasciitis. It's a safe one to Google lol.
It's very painful and can be caused by exercise or from changing from flat shoes and heeled ones. Lots of causes to be honest.
It's not caused by pregnancy but the weight gain aggravates it. First time I had it, I ended up not being able to walk without agony but I was very heavily pregnant then. There are some natural things you can do, stretching etc.

I've woken up with a sore shoulder today! Not had a restful night either so know how your all feeling.

jpeg28 · 17/09/2016 09:26

Thinking of you bex hope all is ok.

Rubbish nights sleep for me too! I seem to be falling asleep at 8pm every night, then wide awake at 2! Did have a very random dream that felt so real about being on some sort of crystal maze type challenge underwater!

Actually feel less rubbish today... 9+2... Is this a good sign??

Happy weekend everyone!

dreamingaboutcheese · 17/09/2016 09:53

I'm so confused and hope someone here can give me some advice. I had a MC at 7 weeks then another a month later at 4 weeks. This month (a month later) I got a positive test on Weds, then on Thurs had a half day of light bleeding (dark brown sorry if tmi). Went to EPU who did a urine test and said I wasn't pregnant. Still no period a day later and I'm never late. I'm also really bloated. Am I definitively not preg, do you think I've had a MC with only a half day light bleed or could I still be pregnant? WDYT?

loz12345 · 17/09/2016 10:22

Hi ladies

Bex hope everything is ok xxxx

Looks like I am out not had scan yet but just a formality as caved and did a pg test this morning as bleeding stopped and it was negative it's never a nice thing but it has made dh realise that he wants another so the ttc will commence (ds was born about 8wks after my edd with first mc).

Thanks for the support and good luck ladies hopefully I will be back before u all give birth to ur lovely babies.

Flowers to everyone going through uncertainty or difficult times x x

purpleviolet1 · 17/09/2016 11:16

So sorry to hear that loz Flowerstake it easy and I really hope we meet again! Xx

LynseyH · 17/09/2016 12:34

loz really sorry to hear your news. Take care of yourself Flowers
dreaming I'm afraid I have no experience in what your going through but hopefully one of the other ladies will be along soon to help you. It must be terribly confusing.
Seems very strange to get a positive one day and negative the next but I really have no idea. I'm presuming it might be a bit of a waiting game but again that's of no use right now. Wishing for good news for you though x

Hya girls, had me scan yesterday all was great, 8+4 by their dates, +3 by mine!
Was a massive relief, I didn't dare look at the screen until she said there's the heartbeat!
Then she played it out loud and that was amazing.
I came home and my 16 yr old spilt a drink over my iPhone so I'm now phoneless 😩
Off on a new phone hunt now via eBay.
Paralysed with fear about the next one in 2 weeks, should be over 10 hopefully and it feels like the scariest one because of my last loss (9+6).
What will be will be I suppose, I'm trying not to show outwardly my hopes about this baby, not mentioned names or had any future-ish type convo's with the hubby about it due to my overall anxiety, he has had a few jokes about this baby being "the one" and by that he means a good well behaved one rofl
He says it each time and each time that baby turns out to be the naughtiest to date lol

Thanks for u all thinking about me, means a lot xxxxx

LynseyH · 17/09/2016 12:44

Brilliant news xxbec. So glad it all went well. Invest in a Samsung s7, they are waterproof...ideal with kiddies around!

Love mine and would never have an iPhone x

Thanks LynseyH. I guess I'll just have to wait and see and keep thinking positively. Best of luck to you all. X
