Finding the heat too much as well Lynsey.

Had 16 week appt today and all is looking well. Heard baby nice to have it confirmed that I've been listening to the right thing at home. Also wondering if I've felt some wriggles today... But not sure!

Only got to make tea for myself as DH is out and I'm struggling with ideas in that "I don't know what I want" way. Anyone with any good ideas, please share! Grin

LynseyH · 14/09/2016 17:03

nasch when partner gets home we're having stir fry. Quick and easy.
Haha xxbec maybe there are 2 in there this time!

Hi everyone. Just wanted to let you know I managed to have a scan and all looked ok thankfully. The obstetrician didn't take a measurement as he said he wasn't trained to , but he seemed comfortable that all looked ok. It was wriggling loads and we could see the heart beating.

11+3 today

Really enjoying reading everyone's updates Smile especially you bex you crack me up! Exactly what I need when am anxiety ridden.

Adventuregame · 14/09/2016 17:21

Purple that's great news - I long for 11+3 Wink

Whatsername17 · 14/09/2016 17:47

Brilliant news purple! Really thrilled for you! I've just changed into a old pair of pyjama shorts (cut at the waist band to fit over the bump) and a vest top and dh and dd have taken great delight in telling me that my tummy is HUGE! Charming!

XxbecquixX · 14/09/2016 18:01

Purple I'm so made up for you!!!!
Xxxx

McBaby · 14/09/2016 18:05

My morning sickness has properly kicked in the last few days! I wake up in the night wanting to be sick I wake up in the morning and it gets worse and worse all day! I can only take the edge off it for a few mins! It was like this with the two girls but not with the mc so taking it a positive and not complying but morning sickness is awful!! Only 7ish weeks till I don't feel sick any more and 8 days till my early scan!

purpleviolet1 · 14/09/2016 18:09

Thank you ! Still not quite out the woods but it's progress xx

Whatsername17 · 14/09/2016 18:16

It's great progress. You may, like me, never feel like you are 'out of the woods' but every step is a milestone xx

jpeg28 · 14/09/2016 18:19

So great to hear from you purple! Such great news about your scan.

mcbaby and becs sorry you've been so sick... I wasn't sick today! Hooray!! Feel sick all day but no actual vomit so progress!! But today my feel are really swollen and my face is covered in spots... I look horrendous!!

lynsey stir fry sounds good... I have just shoved a chicken in the oven as I have no idea what to cook... All I want is bad food!!

Whatsername17 · 14/09/2016 19:12

We've had the most lazy dinner tonight: shop bought pie, oven chips and veggies. After a full day of teaching, lunch and after school rehearsal and leading assembly I cba!

Naschkatze · 14/09/2016 19:36

Glad all is well Purple!

I was tempted by something with oven chips Whatser but I ended up throwing together a tomato pasta sauce. It wasn't that great and so I've just had a packed of crisps too Blush

Sorry to everyone feeling ill, it is the worst; good signs though hopefully!

jpeg28 · 14/09/2016 19:42

I wish I had a pie! We had such a random dinner because I couldn't be bothered... Roast chicken, jacket sweet potato, beans and broccoli!

If bake off wasn't on soon I'd been in bed already!

Whatsername17 · 14/09/2016 19:58

The pie was delicious. I think, sometimes, having it made for you makes it taste better! I'm usually much better in the kitchen but I'm knackered and something had to give to tonight. I'm now slobbing on the sofa whilst dh watches football. Of I font fall asleep it will be a miracle!

theAntsareMyFriends · 15/09/2016 15:29

purple thats great news about the scan. It must have been a huge relief.

whatser I usually enjoy cooking but its the first thing to go for me. I was planning on eating organic rice and lentil everyday with my DS but ended up relying on freezer food

becs, mcbaby and jpeg. I hope you are coping with the sickness. When you have no symptoms all you want is to feel sick but when it happens it is so draining.

I only get a bit of nausea, mostly when I'm tired, but what I get really bad food aversion. When it was at its worst with my DS I could only eat 5 foods. Weirdly he's a very fussy eater but enjoys 4 of the 5 food i ate when pregnant with him. I also have some food that I can't even think about or I gag. At the moment its kale, sweet potato and tomatoes which I normally love. Its hard to keep up your energy when you can't eat properly and I always feel that I'm not giving the baby a good start in terms of nutrition.

McBaby · 15/09/2016 15:34

I have so many food aversions. All fruit and veg are out and I don't really like the idea of eating anything but I can manage stodgy carbs and protein! Chocolate tastes of fat, as does cheese, ice cream etc. I have lost lb so far!

I was also properly sick for the first time today, really hoping there is a baby with a heartbeat next Thursday!

Whatsername17 · 15/09/2016 16:18

I hope so too Mc! I think you have to just get through the 1st trimester. It's so hard when everything makes you feel ill. I lived on stodgy cards too. Now I'm well into the 2nd I'm much better with food and being good generally and following the 80/20 rule. People at work have made comments about how healthy my meals are and that I should just embrace getting fat. I'm all for embracing it but I don't want my arse expanding at the same rate as my tummy!

DoubleCarrick · 15/09/2016 16:40

I'd second whatser, mc, just eat what you can. I'm 23 weeks and still haven't got any kind of appetite. I've actually lost another 2lb this week after managing to gain a couple over the last few weeks . Just eat what you fancy and as much as your body needs.

On a side note. The MW said she wants to monitor my weight. I'm still 5lb lighter than pre pregnancy - I lost 8lb and have put on 3lb. MW also doesn't want to see me for 6 weeks so it's not exactly monitoring. When should I start to get concerned? I'm not exactly massive but still look healthy enough, currently 155lb

Whatsername17 · 15/09/2016 16:51

How tall are you? I'm 5ft6 and 151 at 22 weeks. I have a decent bump on me too!

McBaby · 15/09/2016 16:58

First pregnancy I put on 5.5 stone and second time it was 3 stone! So figuring I will be able to eat more in the end!!

Whatsername17 · 15/09/2016 17:38

I gained 2st4lb with dd and I'm hoping for similar. I'm sorry if it seems insensitive to be worried about weight after what we have all been through. I get annoyed at myself to be honest. It's just I battled bulimia from aged 13 until I got pregnant with my dd at 26. I've done really well in staying healthy but uncontrolled weight gain puts me at risk of a relapse. I can already feel myself getting anxious and the only thing that helps is eating healthily for my baby and reminding myself that the food I'm eating will nourish her and make her strong. Just wanted to explain incase I come across as a vain cow.

XxbecquixX · 15/09/2016 17:42

Hya girls, had a busy day here, had the eyelash lady over and so followed my mum, and my 2 friends. Then I realised my neighbour was 50 today so quickly had to scrabble around for a card and I just gave her some money, so she popped down aswell then My brother turned up lol
I was trying so very hard to not gag in front of the beautician and in the end she joked and said " your not pregnant are u?" So I reluctantly told her as I think she was looking at me thinking eeeeeh I don't wanna catch that lol it was really hard trying to act "well" in front of my family, they started talking about lamb ribs and I just wanted to spew all over the garden!
I feel drained now, I've ordered the kids a pizza and I'm now in bed lol
Hubby can do the dishing out tonite!
I've got my scan tomorra pm, scared witless again, should be 8+3 ish.
I've wanted twins my whole life, but could you imagine having twins on your 6th pregnancy lol
😁😁😁😁😁 there was only 1 last time so unless we have a hider lol

LynseyH · 15/09/2016 19:03

Evening all!
Hope everyone is well today? whatser don't worry what we think or anyone else, you look after your needs and baby. I have been upset about the weight gain (feel like an oompa lumpa!) and I've not had to deal with the same things you have. Let yourself feel how you want or need to and don't fret about coming across the wrong way.

*xxbec best of luck for tomorrow's scan, I hope all is well.

My day has been quite productive... I finally tidied and cleaned! I was starving by lunch, partner very kindly bought me some lunch :-D
Love seeing a tidy, fresh house. I've still got some more to do though.
Now ready to do nothing at all tonight but watch some trashy tv!

I'm 5ft 4 but look weirdly malnourished if i dip below 10st. I guess my weight isn't low enough to worry but it's weird that I'm not gaining. I think I look ok? It's just clients/friends/family asking if I'm ok as I've visibly lost weight making me worry

Good luck tomorrow becs! Sounds like you've had a busy day!!

My OH is driving me mad! He keeps making comments about how he never sees me because I go to bed so early. He won't stop going on about it! If men felt as bad as we do they would never leave their beds! Never mind that I've cleaned the bathroom, hoovered, changed the sheets cooked him dinner and worked all day!!
