Lynsey I haven't used the Doppler but with my DS had the placenta in the same spot & I had a lot of traces with him & they had to put it in a awkward postion because of his postion & the placenta & then he'd move just as they got it right so just check with midwife but if you can hear movement sounds okay.

Hope you & your DH enjoy the lunch tinkly.

Aldi have got their baby event on 22nd September. I usually get boxes of their wipes but they've changed them & kids appear to be reacting to them. Everyone I know uses them though & me.

purpleviolet1 · 11/09/2016 12:16

Never managed to have the scan as the clinic was closed! No one was there. There was other clients waiting too and all very odd. Never managed to get in contact with anyone either. So annoyed.

Whatsername17 · 11/09/2016 12:52

Oh purple that is awful! Try ringing and complaining. How frustrating and upsetting.

XxbecquixX · 11/09/2016 13:13

Kate I heard an old wives tale that if the babies heart beat is above 150 then it's most likely a girl and below is a boy!
Obviously those bpm must be within range xxxxx
Can't believe that purple talk about mess you around, I know that in my A&E in Epsom that they have a portable scanner than they can bring down for you if you extremely worried but I think you have to kick up a bit of a fuss xxxxz

Whatsername17 · 11/09/2016 15:37

Lynsey my lo moves whenever I use the doppler so her heartbeat sounds stop/start. Dh felt her move for the first time yesterday which was lovely x

LynseyH · 11/09/2016 16:19

I tried again a bit earlier but it's really hard to make things out at the moment. Pretty sure she's moving around from the noises I hear but the heartbeat sounds really far away.
Trying not to stress!
Most have been a wonderful moment for you both, especially your husband! How lovely ☺

I had the same stress a couple of weeks ago. If you are worried phone your midwife. Tell her you are feeling anxious and just need some reassurance. The doppler so they use are brilliant.

XxbecquixX · 11/09/2016 18:26

Long tiring day, wallpapered the hall stairs and landing, just the bottom half of the wall under the dado.
He's gunna paint it as soon as it dries and I can't wait to feel fresh again, everything here feels a bit run down having had the holidays and birthday etc
I've only just stumbled across ikea kallax storage it's so handy, I've just bought some for my sins room and it's really tidied up the toys a treat, I've got a feeling my house may start to look like ikea soon lol!!
My incredibly happy child modelling for you 😂😂😂

Has anyone got or had experience of movement with an anterior placenta? Driving myself crazy with trying to figure out if im feeling trapped wind, stomach digestion or baby Blush

doleritedinosaur · 11/09/2016 21:34

Mac I had an anterior with DS & I only felt movements when he was higher up then more past 27 weeks really but it was more because his butt was under my ribs.

If you can lie down, & just try to not to do much so you can "feel"
What's going on down there. I know it's really hard to feel movement until they much bigger so I wouldn't worry honestly.

Baby feels like baby popping & flutters as they roll, almost like when you go down a fast hill in a car.

Purple I find it shocking that EPU would just close with no explanation when they have vulnerable women booked in for emotive scans. I agree with whats I'd complain in writing and ask for an explanation. I'd also consider ringing NHS 24 and asking if A&E would scan you as an alternative given the circumstances, or if you don't want the hassle of waiting in A&E I'd be on the phone to EPU first thing tomorrow and get booked in then. I feel upset and angry on your behalf!

I have my twenty week scan tomorrow, feels like what Christmas Eve used to when I was a child. This time I'm 95% excited, 5% scared. I do know I can't count my chickens, but intuitively I feel like tomorrow will be a wonderful day for us. Mac I'm hoping my little one kicks during the scan so I can work out if the "movements" I think I'm feeling match with the kicks, it's not easy to tell!

With baby heart beats, my midwife at my 16 week appointment said they slow down as you go through pregnancy, so it's probably normal.

LynseyH · 11/09/2016 23:02

I just heard the best noise in the world...galloping horses!!
Baby finally played along and heartbeat is strong and loud. Yay!
Was just starting to wonder whether I should give in and ring midwife tomorrow (didn't want to as although my midwife was ok with me having my doppler, I didn't want to call up panicking over it- the very reason they don't like you having one!)
Seemed to have felt more of the prodding this evening too. I do wonder if DTD might have helped...finally let partner close after 4 whole months Blush not gone near him since finding out I was pregnant at 4 wks!
Was so nervous and it felt a little awkward but we got there. Have been knicker checking since but (touch wood) all is well. So happy now I heard her properly Smile best get to bed now otherwise I'll never be on time for the school run in the morning.
Night ladies x

Sorry I should have made it clear it was a private clinic... Eventually got an email reply apologising and saying someone would be in touch tomorrow. Anxiety is through the roof but am trying hard not to think
About it. Will phone them tomorrow morning regardless and see if they can fit me in.

HopefulKate1980 · 12/09/2016 07:01

Hope today is magical lucky!!!! Xx

Macauley · 12/09/2016 09:50

Good luck today lucky Smile

XxbecquixX · 12/09/2016 10:55

Good luck today lucky xxxx

I had another sleepless nite, woke up feeling very sick, everything is making me gag, that advert on the tv with all the builders and the men in high heels and cut down shorts I started to gag at that, then
my friend popped over and told me that her dad came over for tea and he ate a huge plate of roast dinner then wanted ice cream and cheesecake and I started gagging again I don't know what's wrong with me, very over sensitive, I then tried to iron the kids uniform and the warm smell of the iron was setting me off!! 😳😳
I don't suffer with morning sickness I never have, strange to feel this grim, although I was 30 with the last baby and I'm 34 now, maybe that's the difference?
Ahhh the joys

Hope they can squeeze you in today purple xx

Informed my GP on Saturday and started the ball rolling but I just don't feel pregnant - keep thinking I'm bound to mc again so what's the point. Grrrrrrr Don't think I'll even feel better after 12 weeks ? Will just be waiting for something to go wrong. It's horrible to not let yourself be happy/excited ? Maybe I should just pretend I'm not - apart from the no alcohol and folic acid etc ? Forget all about it ?
Sorry for the monday morning moan !

XxbecquixX · 12/09/2016 13:16

How far have your mc'a been along in the past adventure x

Adventuregame · 12/09/2016 13:27

Had mmc 16 months ago - saw heartbeat on an early scan at 5 weeks then 2 days before 12 week scan started bleeding and ended up in A&E with labour like pain. Scan showed heart had stopped at 9 weeks.

XxbecquixX · 12/09/2016 13:55

Arrr that's horrid, I've had similar, I had a MMC in 2002, thought I was 12 but that pg had stopped at 5. Then I had a quick MC at 6wk in 2011. Then in 2015, very similar to you, had scans upto 8+6 and then went for the 12 to find things had stopped at 9+6.
It's so devastating, especially if you've seen a heartbeat. You get your hopes up and then you imagine this little baby and this future, and this whole new life, then it's cruelly snatched from you.
I've been trying to take each week at a time, I was strong until last week when I buckled and had a scan.
You get strong days and week ones, there's no fix, you've just got to get to the 12weeks some how!
Have you thought about going the EPU?
They say if you can get to 8wks and see a heartbeat that the risk of MC goes down to 2%.
Obviously we have experienced that 2% in the past, but watever is going to happen will happen so you could try to just take each day as it comes and try to think positively?
Xxxxxx

Adventuregame · 12/09/2016 14:34

Thank you Xxbec I'm sorry you've been through it so many times ! I have thought about an early scan but I think it would only relieve the worry for that day so I might just have to tough it out.

XxbecquixX · 12/09/2016 14:42

My suggestion to you would be this, ring the EPU when you get to 6 weeks and tell them your pg and terrified and book in for a scan at 7wks, then take your time and think about whether you want to go or not and if you decide yes then it's booked ready for you, if not then the nite before just cancel.
It may give you a sense of control?
Of which we have none in this situation usually xxxx 💋
